Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam told TNT's Ernie Johnson he spent the 2018 offseason becoming a 3-point weapon
Transcript
00:00 Last night, Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam was interviewed by TNT's Ernie Johnson and
00:07 touched on the jump he made during the 2018 season when he won the league's most improved
00:13 player award.
00:14 Joining me now from all Raptors is Aaron Rose.
00:18 Aaron, I want to talk about the improvements that he's made throughout the last couple
00:22 of seasons.
00:23 What have you seen looking back at his score points?
00:27 The biggest difference he's made over the past couple of years is his three-point shootings.
00:31 When he came into the league, he was not a good three-point shooter.
00:35 During that 2017-18 season, he shot 22% from three-point range.
00:40 He was basically the NBA's worst three-point shooter.
00:43 You can see in the corners where he was terrible, well below league average.
00:47 As he said last night, he got to work after that summer, working non-stop on his three-point
00:52 shooting.
00:53 He said he took thousands of shots all summer long.
00:55 When he came back, he was a totally different player.
00:58 He shot 37% from three last season.
01:01 You can see in the corners where it's bright orange.
01:04 He was well above league average.
01:07 He shot 42% in the corners.
01:09 That's 4% above league average.
01:12 Now the only question is, what's next?
01:16 That's really incredible.
01:17 Just shows you what determination and practice can do.
01:19 Aaron, thanks so much for your insight on this.
01:20 Appreciate it.
01:21 Thank you.
