00:04 What happened to George Floyd has reverberated throughout the country,
00:08 impacting so many, including professional athletes.
00:11 Sometimes pro sports stars may seem larger than life, but
00:14 their vulnerability was on display in the wake of Floyd's tragic death as they,
00:19 like all of us, saw that horrifying video.
00:22 I can't breathe, as Floyd was heard saying, and was on the shirt LeBron James once
00:26 wore to honor Eric Garner and posted again, should not have to be a rallying cry.
00:31 And James was not alone in sharing his thoughts.
00:34 Steve Kerr posted, this is murder, disgusting, seriously,
00:38 what the hell is wrong with us?
00:40 Bradley Beal also asked the question, knee on my man neck, when does it stop?
00:45 A frustration shared in the NFL as well, where JJ Watt said, quote,
00:49 anybody who saw the video, I don't know how you can defend it, it's terrible.
00:54 While Malcolm Jenkins, who of course works with the Players Coalition,
00:57 called for the officers involved to be charged and convicted.
01:00 But what is so gut wrenching is how so many in the African American community
01:04 have to live knowing that could be their or
01:06 even scarier their kids' reality on any given day.
01:10 Which becomes even more stark when you see how devastated professional athletes
01:14 are, because it doesn't matter if you play in the NBA.
01:17 This is about humanity.
01:19 I saw Dwayne Wade say, justice will not be served until those unaffected
01:23 are as outraged as those who are.
01:25 Well, I am sad and I am angry.
01:29 The most frustrating thing, which I know is a shared feeling,
01:32 is I don't know what to do about it.
01:34 But I want to help any way I can.
