00:21Kyrie Irving has been on social media saying he's chomping at the bit to get back out there

00:27And the interesting name that's been put out there continues to be Kevin Durant.
00:31Now, it was just under a year ago that Durant suffered a season-ending Achilles tear in
00:38Game 5 of the NBA Finals for Golden State.
00:41That type of injury typically needs maybe 10 months to a year to fully rehabilitate
00:47before you're ready to get back out there on the floor.
00:49And when you do, generally it takes a lot longer before you're back to being the player
00:54you once were.
00:56However, the Nets have continued to not rule out Kevin Durant.
01:00Sean Marks, the general manager in Brooklyn, just this week spoke to a New Zealand outfit
01:05where he said Durant's return was the $110 million question.
01:09Now, any other type of injury, you would say a player can and maybe should come back for
01:15a playoff run.
01:16But Durant, his last injury came from maybe coming back a little bit too soon into that
01:22Warriors lineup.
01:23So the idea of rushing him back and dropping him right into the most intense atmosphere
01:29that's imaginable in basketball, it just doesn't make a heck of a lot of sense.
01:33So ultimately, Durant is going to be the one that makes this decision.
01:37Recently, Rich Klyman, the manager for Kevin Durant, he told me they haven't had that discussion.
01:43But even if Durant wants to play, it seems a little risky for the Nets to put him out
01:49there on the floor.
01:50This team, its championship window opens next season when Durant and Kyrie Irving are at
01:56full strength, when they look like they could be real contenders.
01:59This season, it just seems like a lot of risk for probably not a big reward.
