00:00I'm Jill Painter-Lopez for Sports Illustrated here with our very own Melissa Rowland.
00:11Melissa, Sue Bird is having an interesting take on how the hiatus from sports can affect
00:16veteran athletes.
00:18What was her main takeaway?
00:19Well, she's 39 years old and she said that her body feels very different this year compared
00:24to last year.
00:25And if athletes lose a season, especially later on in their careers, that could have
00:30a big effect.
00:31This could be very valuable time lost.
00:33She pointed to herself and she pointed to LeBron James.
00:36LeBron's 35 years old.
00:38He was having an MVP caliber season in his 17th year.
00:42And obviously that's been robbed from them right now.
00:45We don't know whether they'll be able to get back on the court or exactly what will happen
00:49yet.
00:50But we do know that they're losing valuable time.
00:53At the same time, Sue Bird joked that whatever LeBron appears to be doing at this stage in
00:59his career is working.
01:00And she specifically pointed to the fact that he drinks a lot of wine and she kind of joked
01:05around about that.
01:06LeBron took to Twitter to respond with an emoji of a glass of wine saying, cheers to
01:11you.
01:12I don't know.
01:13The other day I saw him post that he was having ice cream and cookies.
01:16So he did a second workout that day to get rid of those.
01:19But we'll see how it affects everybody.
01:21Thanks, Melissa.
