00:00 I'm Jill Painter Lopez for Sports Illustrated joined by our very own Melissa Rowland.
00:10 And Melissa, Jerry West was recently on the Dan Patrick Show and he talked about who he
00:15 would like to see in the NBA Finals.
00:17 It's different than maybe a lot of people would have drawn up.
00:20 What do you think he was talking about there?
00:21 Well, the league is obviously discussing many different possibilities to potentially resume
00:26 the season.
00:27 And one of the possibilities that's been thrown around is having all of the teams, number
00:32 one through 16, play against each other in a tournament style regardless of conference.
00:38 And he was saying how cool it would be if they did that and then the Lakers and the
00:42 Clippers met in the finals.
00:43 He said that would be the ultimate competition.
00:45 That would be incredible.
00:47 Obviously, it's the number one and number two seeds in the West.
00:49 That would be extremely exciting, I know, at least for us here in the Western Conference.
00:54 But obviously, Jerry West acknowledged that people over in the East might not be too excited
00:58 about that idea.
01:00 And obviously, Jerry West, the logo, more of an old school player.
01:04 But I like that he's interested in this new age idea.
01:07 So we'll have to see what happens.
