00:00 (upbeat music)
00:02 - Welcome to another episode of the Goldmouth Action Podcast
00:14 where we take a look at all the latest goings
00:15 on the Brighton, Hove, Albion, Crawley Town
00:17 and Sporting Sussex.
00:19 I'm Matt Pole and this week I'm joined by
00:20 Crawley Town expert Mark Dunford,
00:22 Sam Morwan who covers both Brighton, Hove, Albion
00:24 and the Reds, and Albion rye Henry Bryant.
00:27 Brighton's winless run continued
00:29 as they were beaten 4-0 at home
00:30 by champions Manchester City.
00:32 We'll pick over the bones of Albion's defeat

00:38 ahead of their final league game of the season on Saturday.

00:54 Thank you very much for tuning in.
00:56 As Burr's mentioned at the top of the podcast,
00:57 Brighton's winless run extended to five games
00:59 following their home loss to Man City on Thursday night.
01:02 Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Fonan, Julian Alvarez,
01:04 Netted for City, as Albion slipped to 11th
01:06 in the Premier League.
01:07 We were chatting a little bit before we started recording,
01:10 Sam, and it didn't sound like it was great last night.
01:13 - No, it wasn't at all, Matt, really.
01:15 It was another tough game for Brighton,
01:17 which they've had a lot of recently,
01:19 and we've just obviously discussed in there,
01:20 they are down in 11th place in the Premier League now,
01:23 and the hopes really are slipping
01:25 of another season in Europe.
01:27 And obviously a lot of that is down to the amount
01:29 of injuries they've had and the fact
01:30 that they've not been able to fill the same team twice,
01:32 I don't think, all season, really.
01:35 And they've constantly been seemingly hit
01:37 by new injuries every week.
01:38 Obviously this time it was Evan Ferguson
01:40 and Pervers' Stephen Nant confirmed to be out
01:43 for the rest of the season before the game.
01:45 So that presented the opportunity for Valentin Barco
01:47 to get his first full debut for Brighton
01:49 at left back last night.
01:52 And yeah, it didn't go to plan at all.
01:54 I mean, to be honest, the first five, 10 minutes,
01:57 they were quite bright and they were set up really well
01:58 and it looked like they were going to be frustrating
02:00 Man City.
02:02 A lot, I think, of the commentators
02:03 and the pundits at the time were saying,
02:05 Man City just has to be patient
02:06 and just not let Brighton's kind of game plan
02:10 get to them, really.
02:11 So it did start well for Brighton,
02:14 but it quickly fell apart, to be honest,
02:16 with Kevin De Bruyne unmarked
02:19 and put in a brilliant diving header.
02:21 And then there's a bit of a controversial one
02:23 with Phil Foden appearing to slip over his own feet
02:26 outside the box and he was given a free kick,
02:28 which he stepped up and scored via deflection
02:30 off Pascal Grosz.
02:32 And yeah, Brighton's heads have completely dropped
02:34 by this point and they still decided to try and play out
02:37 from the back as they're told to do.
02:38 And it was Valentin Barco, unfortunately,
02:40 on his debut that made the killer mistake
02:43 that was capitalized on and Foden made it 3-0.
02:45 So yeah, it was all just a bit dreadful at that time.
02:49 He feared it could be a cricket score, to be honest,
02:52 but they managed to get a half-time 3-0 down.
02:55 And they did improve in the second half.
02:57 It definitely looked more of a threat
02:58 and looked like they might get a goal back.
03:00 But yeah, as you say, Alvarez killed the game off
03:03 and made it 4-0.
03:04 It was another bit of a defensive mistake
03:06 where Barco was turned inside out by Kyle Walker.
03:10 Jason Steele ran out to try and get the loose ball,
03:13 but he couldn't quite get there.
03:14 And then it was a tap-in in the end for Alvarez.
03:17 - I was gonna ask you, Henry,
03:20 how Valentin Barco got on on his full Brighton debut,
03:24 but from what Sam said, it might have been a debut to forget.
03:27 - Yeah, absolutely.
03:29 So it is fair to say that Valentin Barco
03:31 did have a tough first start for the Albion in that game.
03:34 And as Sam was mentioning, for Manchester City's third goal,
03:38 he was dispossessed while the Albion
03:39 were playing it from the back
03:40 and it allowed for Foden to capitalize.
03:43 And again, for the fourth goal,
03:46 Kyle Walker was able to turn the Argentinian,
03:49 which allowed a scuffed pass to Foden again
03:52 for a brace in that game.
03:53 But despite the errors and despite some of these chances
03:57 that were mistakes that led to goals,
04:00 Deserby said that he was Brighton's best player
04:03 in the post-match press conference.
04:05 And he would have definitely gained a lot of experience.
04:08 It would be fair to say he was very strong
04:11 in his praise for Valentin Barco.
04:13 And it's nice to see that he's able to
04:16 sort of protect his players and make sure that
04:19 despite errors that did lead to a few unfortunate goals,
04:23 which could have been avoided,
04:25 that Deserby is able to protect his players
04:28 in that sort of sense.
04:29 And it was quite refreshing to see and quite nice to see.
04:32 And I guess that provides confidence for those players
04:34 despite making those sort of silly errors that,
04:39 you know, leading up to the next few games,
04:40 especially with a big game at Bournemouth on Sunday,
04:43 that we can refresh, restart in the few days
04:46 we've got left before that game
04:47 and hopefully get a result against a side
04:50 that have crept up one place above us now, surprisingly.
04:54 So we shall see.
04:56 - I would say Barco, sorry, Matt,
04:58 I was gonna say Barco, he did show a lot of character.
05:01 And despite making those mistakes,
05:03 it didn't kind of deter him from going forward
05:06 and trying to make a nuisance of himself.
05:08 And he was probably the liveliest player for Brighton, really.
05:11 And he put in a couple of really good crosses,
05:13 one early on for Louis Dunck for a header on goal.
05:16 And there's another couple of ones
05:17 where he played a lovely kind of defence splitting pass.
05:19 And there's definitely signs of a really good player there.
05:22 And De Servi was full of praise for him
05:24 in the press conference.
05:26 And it made me feel a bit guilty
05:27 for giving him a low rating in my player rating.
05:29 I think it was a five or a six.
05:31 But I think if it wasn't for those mistakes,
05:33 it would have been higher.
05:35 It's just, yeah, difficult to give a player
05:36 that's made such crucial errors much higher than that.
05:39 But I can definitely see why he would get that praise
05:41 and the character and everything that he showed.
05:43 So yeah, definitely promising signs from him.
05:46 - Can you be too harsh on a player
05:47 who's making his debut in England,
05:49 his full England debut,
05:50 and they're playing Man City as well?
05:52 - Yeah, it was definitely a battle of fire.
05:54 I think I noted that as well,
05:56 just of all the games to throw him into.
05:58 This is definitely one of the toughest.
06:00 Because he came on as a substitute away at Liverpool,
06:03 which is another really tough place to go.
06:05 And he didn't look completely settled.
06:08 And he was only on the pitch for a few minutes,
06:09 but I think he lost the ball every time he got it.
06:11 And he didn't really look kind of settled on the ball.
06:13 And I did ask De Serbi when we'd maybe see more from him.
06:16 And he wasn't actually in the squad
06:17 for the following game at Brentford.
06:19 He'd been left out to work on his own physical condition
06:22 alongside Anssi Fati.
06:23 So you're kind of wondering,
06:24 would he get that opportunity this season?
06:25 So I definitely was surprised when he played last night,
06:28 especially against Man City.
06:29 But I think, to be honest, he did obviously make those errors
06:32 which you can expect for his age and his learning.
06:35 And that's the way De Serbi wants to play
06:37 at the end of the day.
06:37 And he wants his players to learn that system.
06:39 So, but I think, yeah,
06:40 definitely the signs of a good player there.
06:43 - Well, in his pre-City Press Conference,
06:45 De Serbi did confirm that Talisman, Pervis Stupinian
06:48 and Evan Ferguson, sorry,
06:50 will miss the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign
06:52 through injury.
06:54 How big of a loss are these two, Sam?
06:56 And why have injuries been such an issue this season?
06:58 And how much do you think can be pinned
07:00 on their European campaign?
07:02 - Yeah, you can say that, couldn't you?
07:04 I think they're just not,
07:05 they weren't used to playing a number of games.
07:07 And that really has had its toll.
07:09 As I said before,
07:10 they've not been able to field the same team
07:12 two weeks running, I think all season.
07:14 They've always had someone, someone out,
07:16 obviously for long periods of time.
07:17 Sodi Marci has been out from the previous time
07:20 they played Man City at the Etihad.
07:22 Jack Hinch was obviously been out for a long time.
07:24 Jal Pedro was out for a while.
07:26 And to be honest,
07:26 Stupinian himself has had prolonged periods out
07:29 and he's not had the best of seasons.
07:31 I don't think he's not been able
07:32 to put running games together
07:33 and get to the form he was in last season.
07:36 And same with Evan Ferguson.
07:37 He had such a great start with a hat-trick
07:40 against Newcastle.
07:41 And obviously it was such a brilliant breakout season
07:43 last year,
07:44 but we kind of expect him to kick on this year
07:46 and show why he was valued so highly.
07:49 And he's unfortunately not been able to do that.
07:50 And a lot of that's been to do with injuries.
07:52 He's just not been able to have it running,
07:54 running the team, get the goals flowing.
07:57 And when he has played,
07:57 obviously he's been relied upon to fill the boots
08:00 of Jal Pedro, for example.
08:02 And he hasn't quite been able to get back
08:05 to that goal scoring form.
08:06 And it's a shame now that he will be out
08:07 for the rest of the season
08:08 because the survey revealed that he'd been playing
08:10 through the pain barrier.
08:11 So that might explain why he's not being at his peak
08:13 of his powers, I guess.
08:15 But yeah, it's so frustrating for Serbi really
08:17 that all season long,
08:18 he's had to deal with injuries left, right and centre.
08:21 And it's difficult to pinpoint one reason why that is,
08:25 but I think, yeah, potentially that is the fact
08:27 they've had to deal with more games than they used to.
08:29 Yeah.
08:31 - Well, I'll be in travel to 10th place Bournemouth on Sunday.
08:36 On paper, Henry,
08:37 this is Brighton's easiest game of the run-in,
08:39 but the Cherries are currently unbeaten
08:41 and five at home in the Premier League.
08:43 How do you see this one going?
08:44 You mentioned the fact that they've leaped
08:45 frog Brighton in the table.
08:47 - Yeah, it's quite an interesting one for the Albion.
08:50 I don't think a lot of Brighton fans, as I was saying,
08:53 would have expected us to be behind Bournemouth
08:55 in the league at any point this season,
08:57 especially when we consider the goal that Brighton
08:59 have had to get back-to-back seasons in Europe
09:02 in any sort of way, shape or form.
09:04 And Bournemouth, you know,
09:06 they sort of struggled last season
09:08 and it's been quite a surprising, you know,
09:10 mid-table finish it's looking like for Bournemouth
09:14 at the moment.
09:14 So it's a big test for the Albion
09:16 to see if they can get a victory away from home,
09:18 boost morale for the players and support of the club.
09:22 There was a tweet that was going out the other day
09:24 about a child at the Albion being told off by his dad
09:28 and the punishment for misbehaving was
09:31 watching all of Brighton's games for the rest of the season.
09:35 And I just thought that was quite ironic
09:40 and just sort of showed the, I guess,
09:43 the nosedive in the excitement of football
09:46 we're playing at the moment
09:47 with the likes of Karim Moutoma out as well,
09:49 who's been such a big driving force in making creative
09:53 sort of runs and creative attacking play for the Albion.
09:58 But it won't be an easy task for Brighton.
10:00 I mean, Dominic Solanke is on 18 Premier League goals.
10:03 So he's an absolute barnstormer of a season so far for Bournemouth.
10:07 And at the time of recording,
10:09 he's the fourth top goal scorer behind the likes of
10:12 Olly Watkins, Cole Palmer, Erland Haaland.
10:14 So I can't see the home side not getting a goal,
10:17 at least in this game.
10:19 So it will be a really tough one for the Albion.
10:22 And Brighton haven't won a Premier League match
10:24 since beating a struggling Nottingham Forest
10:26 at the start of March.
10:27 So I think it will be a close affair
10:29 and Deserby will be looking to motivate his men
10:33 and get them back on winning ways,
10:36 maybe sort of boost that morale.
10:40 Hiri Ola's done a great job at Bournemouth, though, hasn't he?
10:43 Yeah, I think he's never going to win a manager of the season
10:48 kind of thing, but he could be in this sort of conversation
10:50 with him and Unai Emery, people like that.
10:52 But yeah, he's done an incredible job with Bournemouth this year, I think.
10:56 Piers, very quickly, a quick yes/no answer.
10:59 I'm going to go around the room.
11:00 Do you think Brighton are going to win another Premier League game
11:02 this season, starting with you, Sam?
11:05 You're on mute, Sam.
11:09 Sorry, I think they will.
11:10 I think they'll get at least one more.
11:11 I think the games they've got, they've got to get at least one.
11:14 As we were just discussing, Man United,
11:15 you never know what can happen against them.
11:17 Same with Newcastle, they're a bit mixed form.
11:19 So I think, yeah, they can get at least one more
11:21 before we end the season.
11:23 Mark, can you see them getting one more win?
11:25 No.
11:27 Henry, do you share Mark's confidence?
11:30 I'm always sharing confidence for the Albi,
11:32 and if that goes into paper, probably not.
11:35 So I'm not sure what that's worth.
11:36 But I think, you know what, I'm really confident
11:41 that we'll be able to get something out of the Bournemouth game.
11:45 And I'm hoping for a win there.
11:46 Not saying there's a win, but hoping.
11:48 Hopeful. Well, we shall see.
11:50 Well, thank you very much, chaps.
11:51 And we're going to take a quick break.
11:52 And when we come back, we're going to talk all things Crawley Town.
11:54 [MUSIC]
12:06 Crawley Town's play of hopes were dented
12:08 following Saturday's 2-2 draw relegation threatened Sutton United.
12:12 How big of a blow was this result to the Reds' playoff dream, Sam Morton?
12:16 Yeah, it was a really frustrating one.
12:20 Me and Mark were there watching at Sutton,
12:23 and it was one of those where we expected Crawley to win.
12:26 It was such a bright start.
12:27 They had lots of chances to open the scoring.
12:30 And they eventually did towards the end of the first half
12:33 with Liam Kelly's sensational goal right to the top corner.
12:37 And we thought it was brilliant.
12:38 Me and Mark were getting very excited,
12:40 checking on the scores of the other games.
12:41 It was all falling really, really nicely for Crawley at the time.
12:45 All the rivals losing or drawing,
12:47 and it looked like Crawley were in the money.
12:50 But obviously football can change very quickly.
12:52 And it did. Sutton got an equaliser right at the start of the second half.
12:56 And then meanwhile, Doncaster were mounting a crazy comeback.
12:59 And it was all going wrong, and then Sutton ended up going 2-1 up.
13:02 So it really was just a bit of a disaster.
13:04 But Crawley did manage to nick a point, rescue a draw at the end,
13:09 and even could have won it.
13:10 They had a goal disallowed.
13:11 It was obviously Lollos that made it 2-1,
13:13 and then Orsi thought he'd made it 3-2,
13:16 but he was ruled offside,
13:17 and all the frantic celebrations were cut short.
13:20 So, yes, a really disappointing one for Crawley
13:23 in their quest against the playoffs.
13:25 But as we know, it's not over yet.
13:27 And that's the message that Scott Lindsay was definitely sending out
13:29 at the end of the game, that you never know what can happen in football
13:32 when you just play to the last game, the last whistle.
13:36 It's amazing, though, how incredible that they were still in the playoffs
13:40 at the end of Saturday,
13:42 because they haven't won in, what, four games now, five games?
13:46 And they were still in the playoffs.
13:48 I mean, they're so lucky with the way results have gone for them,
13:51 I think, Crawley.
13:53 I mean, Doncaster have just been incredible.
13:55 And if they do get in the playoffs, Doncaster,
13:58 the likelihood they'll win it because of the momentum they've got
14:00 is incredible, 10 wins on the trot.
14:02 But, yeah, no, I was just amazed that they were still in the playoffs at the end.
14:07 So, yeah, they still stand a chance.
14:09 Obviously, after Tuesday night's results,
14:10 they were out of the playoffs going into the final game.
14:13 But we'll get on to that, I'm sure.
14:15 Yeah, I was going to mention that after the game,
14:18 there seemed to be a spot of handbags at full time.
14:21 What sparked the frackarmark and what punishments have been doled out
14:24 by the FA, if any?
14:25 It was a funny one, really.
14:27 I don't really know what sparked it.
14:28 And handbags is the right word.
14:30 It was just a lot of...
14:31 I think there was two people ended up on the floor.
14:33 But I was chatting to someone yesterday, and they were saying
14:35 the two people that ended up on the floor were both Sutton players,
14:38 because it was one Sutton player trying to hold back another Sutton player,
14:41 and the force he held him back, they both fell over.
14:44 But, yeah, it was just...
14:46 I think it just got quite tense, really, the whole game,
14:48 because I think Crawley sunk Sutton's level to some extent.
14:53 Sutton were lumping it long, and Crawley tried to match that.
14:58 And they were very physical.
15:00 So, big side Sutton.
15:01 And it was just very physical.
15:03 And I think the fact that Crawley got that late equaliser
15:06 and then thought they'd won it and were celebrating,
15:08 and I think the whole bench was celebrating as well.
15:11 And I think that just wound Sutton up a little bit.
15:13 And I think just as the final whistle went,
15:15 I think somebody must have said something,
15:17 and it just kicked off, and literally everybody was involved.
15:20 Players, staff, physios, everybody.
15:23 It was quite odd.
15:24 But the FA have charged both teams for...
15:28 What was it?
15:29 Both clubs have allegedly failed to ensure that their players
15:32 and technical area occupants did not behave in an improper
15:35 or provocative way after the final whistle.
15:38 So, they've been charged with that.
15:39 And the teams have until Friday to respond to the charges,
15:43 which is today.
15:44 So, yeah.
15:46 So, we'll see.
15:47 It'll probably just be a monetary fine of some description.
15:49 But I think Crawley have been charged earlier in the season.
15:52 So, whether they get a slightly bigger punishment
15:55 because it's their second offence, I don't know.
15:57 But, yeah, it was just handbags and just silly
16:00 and just sort of marred what was an exciting day, really.
16:03 Because Crawley had their record attendance
16:05 for a away league match.
16:08 It was 1,100 and something Crawley fans were there.
16:12 And it was a great atmosphere.
16:14 But it was just a shame they couldn't just get that win.
16:15 If they just won two of their last four or five games,
16:19 they could have been in the playoffs already.
16:21 So frustrating.
16:22 But it's all down to the final day.
16:24 It's going to be exciting.
16:26 Well, yeah, the hopes of claiming a player place
16:28 got even tougher on Tuesday night
16:30 as Doncaster won their game in hand.
16:32 But as Mark said, the race to the playoff isn't over just yet.
16:35 What results are needed, Sam, for Crawley to secure
16:37 a top seven finish on Saturday?
16:39 Yeah, well, it's very possible when you think about the form
16:43 that some of the other teams are in.
16:44 I think Barrow, for example, have
16:46 been in a bit of a terrible run.
16:48 So I think that provides Crawley with some optimism
16:50 that if they do win and Barrow fail to beat Mansfield,
16:54 that will be them in the playoffs.
16:55 So they don't even have to lose.
16:56 They can draw and Crawley will still go above them.
16:59 Or if Crawley win and Doncaster lose at Jenningham,
17:02 they go back above Doncaster.
17:04 Obviously, that seems unlikely when they've won 10 games
17:06 in a row.
17:07 But Crewe as well, if they lose at Colchester,
17:11 Crawley would go back above.
17:13 But actually, a draw would be enough for Crawley
17:16 with all sorts of circumstances happening,
17:18 which would be that Barrow lose by two or more
17:21 goals against Mansfield, Bradford fail to beat Newport,
17:24 and Walsall fail to beat Wimbledon
17:26 or win by three goals or fewer.
17:29 So yeah, crazily enough, a good draw could be enough for Crawley.
17:33 But they have to win.
17:34 They've got to go and win and hope
17:36 that one of the teams above them drop points, which
17:38 is very possible.
17:40 They've got to focus on what they have to do,
17:42 focus on their task at hand, and go and get the win.
17:45 Scott, when I spoke to Scott Lindsay yesterday,
17:49 he said they know they've got to win.
17:52 I mean, you just said a draw will do,
17:53 but they've got to go out and win.
17:55 But he said if they do win, a lot's
17:57 got to happen for them not to get in the playoffs.
18:00 So I mean, yeah, if Crewe, Doncaster, and Barrow
18:05 will win, then what can you do?
18:08 There's nothing you can do.
18:09 It's just unlucky.
18:10 But yeah, there's some big games there.
18:13 Something funny, the Crewe-Colchester one,
18:14 it seems on paper like quite a big game
18:17 because Colchester can still get relegated.
18:19 Crewe have got to get something.
18:21 But they both just need a draw.
18:22 And it's just, you can imagine--
18:24 I'm not suggesting there'll be any kind of thing.
18:28 But when both sides just need a draw,
18:32 it becomes quite a difficult job for them.
18:34 But yeah, it's got to be exciting.
18:38 Got to be exciting.
18:39 Yeah, we'll preview the Grimsby game in a minute.
18:43 But without meaning to sound pessimistic,
18:45 how will Crawley Town this season
18:47 be viewed if they do miss out on the playoffs?
18:49 Does it feel like there will be contrasting emotions
18:51 if they do miss out, Mark?
18:52 It's a bit odd feeling, I think.
18:55 I think it will be.
18:56 I think it's--
18:57 I think initially, if they miss out tomorrow,
19:00 there'll be huge disappointment for everyone.
19:02 And it'll just be like a little bit of a missed opportunity
19:06 because of the position they were in.
19:08 And yeah, the few latest results.
19:10 But after Saturday and-- because Sunday, they've
19:15 got their awards evening.
19:17 I'm sure that awards evening, whatever happens,
19:19 will be an evening of celebration for what
19:21 they've achieved this year.
19:23 They won the fans over quite early on after what
19:28 was a terrible year last year.
19:30 They played some great football, got some incredible results,
19:35 had a little run in the EFL trophy
19:37 where they beat a Champions League 1 club
19:40 and things like that.
19:41 So yeah, what he's achieved with the players he's got,
19:43 it's been an incredible season.
19:45 And Scott Lindsay said yesterday that he said,
19:47 if we get to the playoffs, it's a great achievement
19:50 in itself.
19:51 But if he gets to the playoffs, it won't be enough for him.
19:53 He'll want to win the playoffs.
19:56 So yeah, it will be initial disappointment
20:00 if they don't get it.
20:01 But I think people have got to be realistic and think, wow,
20:04 what a ride we've had this year.
20:06 And I think, yeah.
20:08 And I think the players feel the same.
20:09 I think the players know that they've done something special
20:12 this year at Recorded Town.
20:15 Absolutely.
20:16 And we're going to combine the score prediction
20:18 and the preview for the Grimsby game.
20:19 Sam, Breds host fourth-from-bottom Grimsby
20:23 at the Broughill Stadium on Saturday.
20:25 How do you see this one going?
20:27 Yeah, it's a tough one to call because obviously Grimsby
20:31 have nothing to play for.
20:32 They're already safe down in 21st position.
20:36 So they've not had a brilliant season themselves.
20:38 But they have done enough to survive.
20:41 So the pressure will be completely off them
20:43 going into the game.
20:44 And it's difficult to tell if that will be a problem
20:47 or actually help Crawley.
20:48 Because obviously when they went to Sutton,
20:50 they're playing a team fighting for their lives.
20:52 And that can obviously impact a game regardless
20:55 of what form they're in.
20:57 And obviously, as we saw that, they nearly
20:58 got the win in Sutton.
20:59 So you kind of have to hope that Grimsby will not
21:03 be firing on all cylinders and take the foot off the gas
21:06 a little bit.
21:07 And Crawley needs to get an early goal
21:09 to kind of get rid of those nerves.
21:11 If they don't, whether the stage is nil-nil
21:13 or if they concede a goal on the break, for example,
21:15 it would just get a bit messy.
21:17 So I think, yeah, get an early goal, settle those nerves,
21:19 and hopefully get a comfortable win
21:21 and have a few more goals as well.
21:22 So they're definitely a banana skin, as we know.
21:25 But any game can be in League 2.
21:27 So they need to just focus on their task at hand
21:29 and do what they do best and get the win they need.
21:33 And your score prediction?
21:35 Score prediction, I'm going to go for a 3-1 Crawley win.
21:40 Mark, I will ask you the exact same question as Mr. Morton.
21:42 How do you see it going?
21:43 And what's your score prediction?
21:45 So, yeah, Scott Lindsay referenced yesterday
21:47 that, yeah, it's dangerous playing
21:49 a team that have got nothing to play for because they play
21:51 with more freedom than they have done probably all season.
21:54 And he thinks Grimsby are in a false position.
21:56 He thinks they're a really good side.
21:57 So it's not going to be easy at all.
21:59 And I think the fans will be more nervous than the players.
22:05 And speaking, we spoke to Lawrence Maguire
22:07 and Liam Kelly yesterday.
22:08 And there doesn't seem to be any nerves or readiness going
22:11 into it, although it seemed like there was on Saturday
22:14 with the players.
22:16 But I think this week, because they know exactly what they've
22:18 got to do, they've just got to win.
22:20 I think they're going to go out and win maybe.
22:23 Yeah, I don't know if they're leaving conceded.
22:25 I think it might be 2 or 3-0.
22:27 And like you say, I think I fully agree with Sam
22:29 that that early goal is key because the longer it goes on,
22:32 nil-nil, the nervier it will get.
22:36 Absolutely.
22:37 And we'll have a quick race round.
22:38 Brighton go to Bournemouth.
22:40 Henry, how do you see that one going?
22:42 What's your score prediction?
22:43 Well, I think that Brighton showed some promise
22:47 in some areas, obviously making mistakes against Manchester
22:50 City.
22:50 But I think that if Brighton are able to,
22:54 how they did in the first 10 minutes,
22:56 create that attacking threat with the likes of Jal Pedro,
22:59 who did look good in that game despite 4-0,
23:02 I think that Brighton can get a shock result, surprisingly,
23:05 against Bournemouth.
23:06 And I reckon it could be 2-1.
23:08 I think a draw.
23:09 I'm going to go for a 1-1 draw.
23:11 Dominic Solanke is on a bit of good form.
23:14 A tough one for Brighton to deal with.
23:16 Yeah, just another tough game.
23:18 I think we have one more draw.
23:19 2-1 Crawley.
23:20 2-1 Crawley.
23:21 Crawley are going to win Bournemouth.
23:22 No, 2-1 Bournemouth.
23:24 I think a home win, I think, is just not happening
23:27 for Brighton at the moment.
23:28 So, yeah.
