00:00 At first I think it was a difficult one. It was the choice for me as a manager, the first step into a new country.
00:08 I had some experiences of having been in the Bremen League and then I got the offer from Sheffield Wednesday.
00:14 But I'm honest, when you step into a championship, you're not really knowing what it means to be a manager of a championship.
00:21 Now I got the award, but behind me I have great staff, great assistant coaches, Chris, Neil, Saul, Henrik and Sascha.
00:33 I think as a manager you're always in front, but you need also good humans and people around you.
00:39 On the one hand I have great coaching staff behind me, but also players.
00:43 They follow me from the first minute and I think all in all this is now the result.
00:48 But we know in football you never know what happens. We have to go one more and hopefully we make the last step on Saturday.
00:54 I think the guys follow us, they know our mindset.
00:58 For me of course we will not go there just for playing a point.
01:01 We want to get the three points, to make it really clear.
01:05 I think in the last weeks we did well. It was not easy, we had a lot of up and downs, some really hard setbacks.
01:12 But I think it was also very strong how we came always back, back.
01:18 In December we were 30 points behind the line and now we are over the line.
01:25 But now you have to go to the final step and this is sometimes a difficult one.
01:28 Your first appearance at the Sheffield Star Awards, what have you made of tonight?
01:32 Do you have things like this back in Germany?
01:34 No, definitely no. I think I like this.
01:38 I had a lot of experience now in the last weeks and months.
01:42 Some good events, some good dinners, Christmas party all in all.
01:46 I like the culture and I like the people here.
01:51 They are very honest, they are very friendly, open minded and everybody is very patient for football.
01:56 This is why I am here and I feel really, really home. Thank you so much.
01:59 Your English is way better than mine.
