00:00 Your character is in his emotions when Taylor Swift's all too well starts playing in this car.
00:04 Oh, is he ever?
00:05 It's amazing. It's hilarious.
00:06 Couldn't get him out of his emotions in that scene.
00:07 Really?
00:08 That was actually just me. I didn't know they were filming.
00:11 What are you doing?
00:16 Just chilling down.
00:17 Have you been crying to Taylor Swift?
00:19 Doesn't everyone?
00:20 Did you pick that song?
00:21 Normally.
00:21 They were like...
00:22 Normally, just to dispel the myth of crying scenes, they come in with a bit of menthol spray to help you get it going.
00:29 He didn't need any.
00:30 I bet. Because Taylor has that effect on people.
00:31 It was like projectile tears.
00:32 Yeah.
00:33 Cartoon tears.
00:35 What made that the perfect song choice though, and how did you get permission?
00:38 We were prepared to try.
00:40 We were hoping she'd say yes.
00:42 It had to be that. It had to be that song. It's so perfect.
00:45 Hannah told me you guys really rocked out to "Flowers" by Miley Cyrus.
00:55 We did some flowers. We did a bit of Alanis Morissette.
00:59 I mean, I want to pass the microphone to Hannah Waddingham whenever I can.
01:08 She sang in her interview.
01:09 Oh, she's extraordinary.
01:17 Got a little Selena on there.
01:18 She did?
01:19 Oh, now I'm jealous.
01:19 That's the song she said that gets her in her feels.
01:21 All by myself.
01:26 This is an epic story.
01:28 The cosmic proportions.
01:31 Stop!
01:32 We're going to hide you.
01:34 Nope. We're going to beat the s*** out of him.
01:36 I can't think of two better people to be in this movie because obviously you've done action,
01:41 you've done comedy, you've done romantic comedies, you've done musicals,
01:44 and this movie has a little bit of all of those things.
01:47 It kind of does. We haven't mentioned the musicals.
01:49 I mean, there was a musical moment.
01:51 It's true though, right?
01:53 I mean, and I think it's an argument for a karaoke category at the Grammys.
01:58 Oh, we need to give stunts an Oscar.
02:01 Yep.
02:02 And then karaoke.
02:03 And then we need to get a Grammy for best karaoke scene.
02:05 Best original cover of a song.
02:06 Right.
02:07 You know, something like that.
02:08 What would you say are your three favorite things about this movie?
02:11 That it's a love...
02:12 Emily Stunty Blunt.
02:14 You sing and you do stunts in this movie.
02:17 Yeah, Ryan Gosling in Gold Lame.
02:19 What would you want?
02:20 It was the neon suit for me, actually.
02:22 Oh, the neon suit was so epic.
02:24 With the matching beanie, it was so good.
02:26 As you all can tell...
02:27 With the melty smiley face.
02:28 With the melty smiley face.
02:29 And the unicorn, which I saw on the Universal lot here today.
02:32 I'm like, brilliant.
02:33 Unicorn shreds.
02:34 I love it.
02:35 Now, obviously you guys have been a part of these huge action films
02:37 with all these amazing stunt performers before,
02:39 but how did this film kind of either change your perspective of their work or heighten it even?
02:45 I think heighten it for sure, even though I've always had sort of like endless gratitude and respect for them.
02:52 They're extraordinary and they risk more than any of us on set, literally and selflessly.
02:58 And do these remarkable stunts, some of which are just seared into your nostalgic memory of movies you've loved growing up.
03:06 And they're responsible for those memories that we have.
03:09 Absolutely.
03:10 So I think it was just a wonderful thing to give them their flowers and have this love letter to what they've done.
03:18 I love that this love letter was, let's jam as many stunts as we can in this movie.
03:22 I mean, right?
03:23 And done practically as well.
03:25 What was it like being on set on the day of the Canon roll?
03:28 Because knowing that it broke a Guinness World Record, what was it like to kind of witness that?
03:32 It was the most tense day I've ever had on set.
03:34 It's exciting to watch it on screen because you know it turns out alright,
03:37 but when you're watching it on set, it's a totally different experience.
03:40 I bet.
03:41 And we knew that Logan Holliday was trying to break the record.
03:44 So we were, and had been watching him work towards this for months and had no idea how much goes into this.
03:52 Like just every, just the engineering of it all.
03:55 I mean, they're brilliant.
03:56 And the way that they-
03:57 Like the science behind it too.
03:58 Exactly.
03:59 And then every, all the elements have to be right.
04:01 The density of the sand, the wind, everything has to go perfectly.
04:05 So that was real when you're character was-
04:06 Well yeah, I was watching him do those things and I was like, we have to incorporate this into the movie because this is crazy.
04:12 I mean, he had legitimate sand concerns.
04:15 Wow.
04:16 And you're counting the rolls because you know he wants to beat the record,
04:20 but at the same time you're worried about what are those rolls doing?
04:23 Every roll could be the bad roll, you know?
04:26 And so when he, when it's over, it's so loaded when you're waiting for the thumbs up.
04:32 It's like the most loaded thumbs up you've ever experienced.
04:35 I can only imagine.
04:36 And then he's okay and we all were so elated and obviously it was like just an incredible moment.
04:41 But what's messed up is that in the scene, he puts me in the car, in the scene for the stunt he's about to do.
04:48 He breaks the record and then he congratulates me for doing it.
04:52 He's giving you a high five like you did it.
04:54 Yeah, congratulations.
04:56 You just broke the record.
04:57 It's so messed up.
04:58 But you know, that's the beauty of this movie is that you can, you know, you know that and in any other film you wouldn't.
05:05 We need to keep it super professional.
05:07 Cool.
05:08 Do you want to make out?
05:09 Nope.
05:10 Because I don't either.
05:11 It's not what I'm into right now.
05:12 Making out?
05:13 Yeah.
05:14 What are you into?
05:15 Talking.
05:16 Yeah.
05:17 What's also cool to watch is you two on screen.
05:18 I mean, what an amazing on screen duo you make.
05:20 After working together, what's one thing you each love about one another?
05:24 Oh, Ryan loves this answer.
05:26 You know, just one.
05:28 Oh my goodness.
05:30 What do I love about old Ryan Goss over here?
05:33 She just brings, you know, she brings that blunt force.
05:36 She brings the magic.
05:38 She just, Mary Poppins is that stretch.
05:41 Practically perfect in every way.
05:44 Pulls whatever it is out of her bag.
05:46 Just a little spoonful of shevin.
05:48 She ascends from heaven.
05:49 She pulls all the tricks out of her acting bag.
05:51 She makes the magic and then, you know.
05:53 There's a lot of tricks in that bag.
05:54 She's off to help other people in other movies.
05:56 It's full of blunt force trauma, guys.
05:59 I just love to leave a little trauma in there as well.
06:02 Your turn.
06:03 I can't wait.
06:04 Oh my goodness.
06:05 I could actually write a sort of laundry list of things that I admire and adore about Ryan.
06:10 I think he is, he's completely singular talent.
06:13 He's the best and he's endlessly funny.
06:17 Ridiculously bright and kind.
06:21 You are the kindest.
06:23 Look how suspicious he looks.
06:24 You don't believe that?
06:25 And he hates compliments.
06:26 Oh, that's what it is.
06:27 It's the compliment factor.
06:28 I get that.
06:29 Okay, I'm not the hero of this story.
06:32 I'm just a stunt guy.
06:34 Trying to look cool in front of the director of this movie.
06:37 That's her.
06:38 Who I just so happen to have a major crush on.
06:40 Ryan, we actually have something that belongs to you and I'm hoping to return it.
06:43 This is totally random and not a bit at all.
06:46 A colleague at ET knows someone who accidentally got a piece of your mail from an old address.
06:52 Obviously, it's not open because that's illegal.
06:54 But that, I believe, belongs to you.
06:56 And it looks like a check, so I want to make sure you received it.
06:59 I mean, did you deliver?
07:01 Maybe it was for young Hercules.
07:02 I'm really sick of my father and his protection.
07:04 You're the one who knows him.
07:05 Why isn't he protecting you?
07:06 Not you, Hercules.
07:07 UK Society of Composers.
07:09 Do you write music?
07:11 Is this the wrong Ryan Gosling?
07:13 Is there another Ryan Gosling?
07:15 I'm Brian Rosling.
07:16 [Laughter]
07:17 Oh, bad boy.
07:18 I'll just take some of the next one.
07:19 Well, just in case, I brought a change of address order for him in case you want that.
07:22 Oh, that's helpful.
07:24 Are you curious what's in there, Emily?
07:25 Ryan Gosling.
07:26 Yeah, I kind of want to open it, but maybe in the process.
07:28 Maybe in the privacy of his own home.
07:30 Right.
07:31 It's amazing.
07:32 Legit just arrived like Thursday, so obviously they tried to send it back.
07:35 Isn't that wild?
07:36 Could you recoil any further?
07:39 I'm just saying, you can't write that stuff, so I'm happy we got it back into your hands.
07:43 I mean, that was pretty wild.
07:45 Is that a cease and desist letter to the line that said you?
07:48 It does look a little important, but anyways, that's yours.
07:50 It's only a week old.
07:51 It does look important.
07:52 Only a week old.
