00:00I am not a passionate believer of astrology and I also think it's a myth. But I believe

00:08some different pseudoscience. So Arant, both are on the same page. And also spirituality

00:16is also not scientific. So, sir, how come as a propagator of spirituality, one must

00:27look into science. Spirituality is not supposed to be scientific. What is spirituality? What

00:36is the very definition of spirituality? Tell me, please. Sir, spirituality starts from

00:54the beginning it says that it is not related to science. What is the definition of spirituality?

00:59You are defining spirituality with respect to science. You are saying spirituality is

01:03that which is not science. I am saying what is spirituality? Give me a positive definition.

01:51very clear and mutually exclusive. Science is the study of the objects. Spirituality

01:58is the study of the subject. Full stop. So, looking for science in spirituality is as

02:11weird as looking for spirituality in science. Do you ever go to science and confront it

02:22and ask, why are you not spiritual? Science is not supposed to be spiritual because science

02:27is the study of objects, the objective world, the material universe. That's what science

02:36is supposed to study. So, science is not supposed to be spiritual. Same way, spirituality

02:42is supposed to study the subject. Who is the subject? You are the subject. Science is not

02:58supposed to study you, the one who says I. Spirituality studies that. So, before you

03:10use words like pseudo-science and all, also think of using words like pseudo-spirituality.

03:15Science is pseudo-spirituality. How does that sound? Absurd. Equally absurd is to say that

03:23spirituality is pseudo-science. And we say all these things because we don't know the

03:30basic definitions and yet we are too eager to talk with confidence. No, sir. Nothing

03:39like that. How can I be confident in front of you? I don't mean to offend you. Do you

03:51think you can? No, sir. Of course not, sir. You are taking me otherwise. This is called

04:00confidence. Sir, I am glad you think so. An honour to talk to you like that. It's not

04:18about smart quips. It's about seeing that at the centre of the mind is sitting someone

04:27who just believes and is insecure about the beliefs. When you ask the question that just

04:39as it is unscientific to believe in spirituality, how is it not unscientific to believe in spirituality?

04:47Do you see what you are very confident of? Please tell me objectively. Your question

04:54was, sir, you just demolished astrology. Right? So astrology is pseudo-scientific. But then

05:02how can one kind of pseudo-science be superior to another kind of pseudo-science and the

05:08other kind of pseudo-science is spirituality. So do you see what you are very confident

05:12about? Sir, I was not confident. I was curious only. I am just quoting what you said. So

05:21you are confident that spirituality is pseudo-science? No, sir. Now I have a different view. I was

05:29only curious. That's why I asked. Curiosity does not take assumptions as its foundation.

05:40To be curious is to not assume anything. And it's a huge assumption to begin with.

05:49And if you begin with that assumption, you will not always get somebody like me who has

05:56the time, the energy and the care to challenge the very assumption. Right? If you base your

06:07entire thesis, your proposition on an assumption, mostly you will get what you began from. You

06:17will get somebody who either validates your assumption or somebody who invalidates your

06:23assumption. But very few people will come and tell you, son, all you have is an assumption.
