00:52 Ms. Con, first of all, what is this Upskilling on Performance and Visual Arts Curation Exhibition?
00:58 And what is the main purpose of this?
01:01 This is a part of the CCP series, an upskilling series,
01:09 where the knowledge of cultural workers is upskilled or added.
01:15 For Performance and Visual Arts Curation, the aim of this is to show what happened in the workshop
01:24 where we shared the principles of curation,
01:32 meaning curation, care, or curare.
01:35 This is an expansion, meaning that it not only gives importance to artworks or objects,
01:43 but also to the communities where we work.
01:46 So the purpose of this project is to equip cultural workers with more skills in management,
01:54 organization, and definitely cultural work.
01:58 Okay, Ms. Esty, what experiences and lessons do you expect to get from the participants
02:06 from this workshop of the CCP?
02:11 For the workshop, we had featured lectures where they talked about their perspectives
02:18 related to curatorship and curatorial in relation to cultural work.
02:24 So here, they had different activities where they really tested the skills of our participants,
02:30 the cultural workers.
02:32 So they had different various aspects in community-based and ethical curatorship
02:40 in Performance and Visual Arts.
02:42 Okay, Ms. Esty, what are the special projects or activities that the participants expect
02:49 from the upskilling program?
02:51 For the exhibit, you can see the output and documentation of the upskilling workshop series.
03:00 So you can see the photos and videos of the workshop,
03:05 how they came up with their ideas, the conversations,
03:09 and the presentations and project plans of the workshop participants.
03:15 Aside from this, you can also see in our exhibit the publication output of the workshop series
03:23 which is titled "Upskilling Handbook, Workshop Proceedings, and Guide to Developing Codes of Care in Curatorship."
03:30 Here, we can see the documentation of the workshop series
03:34 where there are photos, lecture transcripts, workshop instructions,
03:40 and worksheets that our cultural workers can use as guides to create similar programs.
03:48 Okay, Ms. Con, how will you illustrate the contribution of this exhibition
03:54 to the expansion of Filipino knowledge in the arts and culture?
04:01 Actually, in our workshop in the CCP, we had an open call
04:06 and 200+ cultural workers applied.
04:10 So, it's clear that our countrymen have the hope of having additional skills
04:17 in their work in cultural work.
04:20 So, to the participants, we were able to invite them from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao
04:26 and we were able to bring them together to activate different potentials.
04:32 So, the importance of connecting with regional cultural workers
04:38 to learn about the strategies and creative outputs
04:43 is that the work of culture in different communities is alive and well.
04:49 This is a way for our community to build up its own community of curators and cultural workers.
04:56 So, the solidarity in the work of the cultural workers in the arts is one of the most important things that happened here.

05:12 to be more productive, more effective, and to have their potentials.
