Bashers fueled UST Golden Tigresses win

Bashers have been fueling the UST Golden Tigresses' championship bid in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament.

UST team captain Detdet Pepito made this known after the Golden Tigresses, a team in a rebuilding mode, reached the Finals after dethroning the De La Salle Lady Spikers, 25-20, 16-25, 25-20, 19-25, 15-7, in their Final Four match at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday, May 5.

00:30Congratulations to the PSC Golden Tigers for winning our Delasa Lady Spikers in 5 sets.
00:45The Golden Tigers are back in the finals, making their first appearance for the first time since 2019.
00:52We have Coach Lu Bres. Coach, congratulations for the Spik League.
00:57Another step towards regaining the throne.
01:00And this is your second finals appearance.
01:02Your thoughts about this match against LaSalle.
01:04And please look ahead against LaSalle this summer season.
01:09Well, first of all, of course, I'm happy.
01:12Because we're here again.
01:14We're here again, playing in the finals.
01:18And of course, it's an honor that we were able to play against LaSalle again.
01:26Like I said in our last game against them,
01:31LaSalle can't be underestimated or underestimated.
01:36Just like their adjustments.
01:38Their adjustments were huge.
01:42From position opposite.
01:46And from the outside.
01:47So their adjustments were huge.
01:50It was really hard.
01:52We really couldn't get the ball.
01:56But until we adjusted to God's mercy, we were able to get the ball.
02:04Again, in 2019,
02:07I said, at least play a little bit this year.
02:09But this time, we're going to change the rules.
02:12We're going to force the kids to play at the same time.
02:15That's why we're saying that the hard work,
02:19the hard work we put in,
02:21our games,
02:23we're going to force the kids to play again.
02:25After the finals, we're going to force them to play.
02:28And of course, we don't have anything to say to these kids
02:34about why we brought them here.
02:38Purely hard work.
02:41No more drama.
02:42No more entertainment.
02:46We told them, especially the coaches,
02:49that we're going to be over-protective for them.
02:52Because we know that if we go here, it's going to hurt.
02:56That's what our opponents want.
03:01So, we will keep the team intact,
03:04especially when it comes to the finals.
03:07So yeah, it's really memorable.
03:09Again, we're going to make history,
03:11no matter what happens, we're going to win.
03:13Thank you.
03:15To the players who lost,
03:17to the science, to the experience, to the team.
03:19But what does it feel like?
03:21A lot of people doubted.
03:22The team didn't believe.
03:24The USP didn't believe.
03:25And now, with just two wins,
03:27we're probably going to make history.
03:30First of all, thank you to the bashers.
03:34Because we really inspired them.
03:36Even in the first game,
03:38we knew that there were a lot of people
03:43who thought that we were going to lose.
03:45And in the first game,
03:48we saw the capacity of our team.
03:51And yeah, we really worked hard.
03:55I just want to thank all the believers.
03:58Let's win.
03:59Thank you.
04:00And to you all.
04:02We're really proud of you.
04:04You're now the exit of your seniors,
04:07Aiya, Aiden, and Casey.
04:10So, how do you feel?
04:11Somehow, you were able to make up for it.
04:15It's an unbelievable feeling.
04:18Because I'm used to being against Aiya.
04:23Of course, at first,
04:25I didn't know how the game was going to go.
04:27Then, suddenly, I was chosen to play volleyball.
04:30I was like,
04:31are you sure, coach?
04:32I was chosen.
04:34I was like,
04:35I don't know.
04:36But yeah,
04:37we're dedicating it to your seniors
04:41to make up for it.
04:45The character.
04:46How much of that character
04:47do you see in your recent life?
04:51Actually, it's important
04:52that we're able to defend ourselves
04:54in the first set.
04:55Because, like I said,
04:56we wanted this.
04:57So, let's embrace this.
04:59The pressure that we felt
05:02in the first set,
05:04it's a good pressure.
05:06Like they say,
05:07pressure is a privilege.
05:09So, it helped us
05:11to push our limitations.
