00:00Hi, my name is CB Joes and I'm the manager of the restaurant Tharavadu in Leeds and we are

00:07celebrating our 10th anniversary this year. So 10 years of glory like so we started in 2014

00:15and we are here now. So now everyone knows what is Tharavadu. You don't need an introduction

00:20Tharavadu. So everyone I believe so most of the people who are is food enthusiastic know who is

00:28what is Tharavadu and what we do. You certainly put the restaurant and Leeds on the map haven't

00:34you? Exactly yes I believe so I believe so yes something different so you know when people think

00:40about an Indian restaurant they the first thing comes to their mind is tikka masala and we don't

00:45do tikka masala so that is a difference we brought into the scene of Indian cuisine. So like we

00:51specialize in Kerala cooking so Kerala cuisine so basically it is curries it's a at the end of the

00:58day it's a curry but it's a something different a different curry so people okay people in Leeds

01:05comes to know that okay there is something like Kerala and the curry can be different the curry

01:10means it's not only tikka masala or jalfrezi it can be something different so that's the change

01:16we brought into Leeds. How have you found the last 10 years? It's you know it's really really thrilling

01:24really happy like as a business point of view we never had to look back as soon as we opened we

01:31we were fully booked so in the first week of opening we were fully booked we were turning

01:37more people away than we were serving when we started it was a 70 cover restaurant so it was

01:44a small restaurant so Friday started in few months time we come to a situation where people need to

01:51book couple of months in advance to get a table on a Friday Saturday and initially we thought okay

01:56it is everyone wants to try a new place so we don't it's just the beginning so we will settle

02:02down but in a couple of years time we came to we recognize that okay this is an ongoing thing so

02:08it coming to two months three months people more complaints we are getting about not getting a

02:13table not about the quality of food service no more people started to complain it's quite difficult

02:19to get a table in your restaurant so we thought of doing okay shall we open a new restaurant in

02:25Leeds or then our landlord came in and he said okay you can go upstairs and you can expand it

02:32so that will be we thought that's the best idea rather than splitting the team we thought okay we

02:38can keep the team here the whole team the core team here and expand the business so now it's a

02:43140 cover restaurant and fully booked every day Monday to Saturday we are fully booked and now

02:49we are open on Sundays as well so going strong and strong you're well known outside Leeds and

02:55you get quite a lot of celebrities coming to see you yes exactly yeah that's right Simon

03:02Perk, Christopher Lloyd, Indian cricket team, New Zealand cricket team, Sri Lankan cricket team

03:07so and we all are very very full of very enthusiastic in cricket so anything to do

03:15with cricket we are really happy so Virat Kohli's favorite Leeds restaurant he been here five six

03:20times so whenever he is in Leeds he comes here for a meal and we we are good friends with him now so

03:26that's more important so it's not about he coming here oh a person like Virat Kohli whenever he is

03:31in Leeds he comes here to have a meal what else you can ask for
