00:00Ako po personally, I was a former barangay captain.

00:05So in terms of support, I will definitely support this bill.

00:08I will actually also file a similar measure.

00:11Given with regards to the term of office of barangay officials, yung dalawang taon po

00:16talaga napaka ikli.

00:17Alam naman po kasi natin na-postpone nung nakaraan, kaya naman yung inabutan na lang

00:22ngayon, yung natitirang two years.

00:25But to be able to implement certain programs, alam naman po natin lahat sa government, it

00:30takes some time.

00:31And especially at the barangay level, talagang very political po ang nangyiharing eleksyon

00:36pagdating sa barangay.

00:38Kaya po, in order to save government funds also, with all the trainings that all barangay

00:45officials undergo, sa kanila pong mga barangay kagawad, lahat po ng mga appointed, napakaraming

00:52ginagastos po ng barangay every time nagkakaroon po ng panibagong set of elected officials

00:57and elected officers.

00:58I agree with Kong Eno, na in fact ako personally, ang pananood ko dun, kung sinasabing three

01:05years dapat ang isang termino ng isang official, mahirap naman na binawasan mo kasi kahit

01:12sino naman natumakbo ng alam mong tatlong taon ng termino, nagplano ka naman siguro

01:19para sa tatlong taon.

01:21To be fair to them, ang hirap din naman na tuparin ang lahat sa dalawang taon.

01:26Pag uwi niyo, kung hindi man pinag-uusapan nung nakaupong barangay chairman yung susunod

01:31na eleksyon, pagpatapos na termino niya, nakikita niyo na na-forma na yung susunod.

01:36Instead of focusing on helping the community or doing their job in mandate, ay wala, nakatutok

01:42na lang yung susunod na eleksyon.

01:44That is the sad reality of politics, hindi lamang sa nasyonal, lokal, pati sa barangayan.

01:51Lagi nalang tayong kampanya, lagi nalang sino mag-uuntugan, kaya nga siraan na nang siraan.

01:56That is the sad reality of having a short term in all positions.
