The largest beef industry event in the southern hemisphere- Beef Australia 2024 is wrapping up today. Much like the Olympics it only happens every three years and brings in graziers from across the country.

00:00This week at Beef Australia we've seen more than 100,000 attendees move through the gates
00:06and almost 2,000 cattle entered across competitions.
00:10Graziers worked hard to keep their cattle dry and clean as the rain moved in over the
00:14last two days.
00:16We spoke to one grazier who says any rain is good rain.
00:20Makes it a bit muddy, a bit slippery, makes it a bit interesting and the cattle are a
00:23bit fresh because of it but you've got to work with what you've got and rain's good
00:27rain I reckon.
00:28We also saw the heaviest bull crowned weighing in at 1,152 kilos.
00:34One of the last events of the program is the Young Judges competition held here at Centering.
00:39Our agriculture industry is in safe hands with more than 60 schools competing.
00:44Pretty good educational experience, the kids get so much confidence out of talking in front
00:49of big crowds, being able to judge cattle is another thing, they've obviously come here
00:55with some sort of knowledge prior, you just don't get this and walk into the ring but
01:01their prior learning back at home or on their farms comes into the ring and compete against
01:06the best schools across Queensland and some New South Wales schools as well.
01:11We've also seen a strong return of international guests with more than 400 international visitors.
01:16Tonight and tomorrow night we'll see more of a celebration of the week with the annual
01:20Beef Ball happening tomorrow night.
01:22Even though today marks the end of Beef for 2024, organisers are already looking forward
01:27to what the next three years will look like in 2027 where they hope it will be beefier
01:32and better.
