00:00 The dangers that threaten our country are real.
00:03 They're increasing in number.
00:05 An axis of authoritarian states like Russia, Iran, North Korea and China
00:10 is working together to undermine us and our values.
00:14 War has returned to Europe, with our NATO allies warning that if Putin succeeds in Ukraine,
00:19 they might be next.
00:21 China has conducted cyber-targeting of our democratically elected MPs.
00:25 Russia has poisoned people with chemical weapons.
00:28 And when Putin cut off the gas supplies, it had a devastating impact on people's lives
00:33 and threatened our energy security.
00:36 And in this world of greater conflict and danger,
00:39 100 million people are now displaced globally.
00:44 Countries like Russia are weaponizing immigration for their own ends,
00:48 and criminal gangs keep finding new routes to cross European borders.
00:53 Illegal migration is placing an intolerable strain on our security and our sense of fairness.
01:00 And unless we act now and act boldly, this problem is only going to grow.
01:04 And yes, the global displacement of 100 million people is a new and defining challenge of our age.
01:11 But we can and will protect ourselves against illegal migration.
01:15 Now I know that our international frameworks are outdated,
01:20 so there may be flashpoints ahead with the ECHR.
01:23 And if the Strasbourg Court make me choose between the ECHR and this country's security,
01:29 I will choose our country's security every single time.
