00:00The 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival started off in great style, with Meryl Streep
00:11being crowned with an Honoré Palme d'Or and returning to the festival after 35 years.
00:17Other highlights so far include another return, that of Messi the dog from Anatomy of a Fall,
00:22and Quentin Dupuy with his new film, The Second Act.
00:25Other things we're looking forward to, and making a major bust on the Croisette this
00:29year, are the returns of some heavyweight titans like Francis Ford Coppola, David Cronenberg
00:35or even George Miller with his Mad Max sequel.
00:38There's also been much talk about the possible presence of dissident Iranian filmmaker Mohammad
00:43Razulov, who fled Iran, who will hopefully be here on the Croisette to present his competition
00:48film, The Seed of the Sacred Fig.
00:50However, two things threaten to overshadow the festivities this year.
00:54First, a possible strike action from disgruntled festival workers, and a rumoured publication
01:00of a Me Too report, which threatens to name names.
01:04This comes at a time when the French film industry is wrestling with the Me Too movement,
01:08and that movement has been spearheaded by French actress Judith Godrej, who will be
01:12here this week on the Croisette.
