00:00 We're here with our cover star, our record breaker, Laini Wilson. How's it going?
00:04 I'm so glad to be here. I'm feeling the love.
00:06 Good, as you should.
00:08 I truly am. So excited to be here and just seeing a lot of my buddies, my friends.
00:12 Just saw Kelsey Ballerini a minute ago. It's gonna be a good night.
00:15 Good. So I'm not sure if you can keep track of all of the records that you've broken,
00:19 but is there one moment in the past year that you feel personally most proud of?
00:23 Oh my goodness. I'm very proud that our record, "Bellbottom Country,"
00:29 won an award for the ACMs, the CMAs, and a Grammy.
00:33 The trifecta, I guess you could say.
00:35 And yeah, I mean, even when it comes to having our number one songs and stuff like that,
00:40 having them very close together, I know, you know, it's hard to have a song on the radio in general.
00:46 And to be doing what we're doing is really kind of unreal.
00:49 Yeah. It's pretty amazing to watch too as a fan.
00:52 So I know you said you have some friends in the room you're excited to see.
00:55 You had a friend quoted in your cover story, none other than Dolly Parton.
00:59 How did you respond to reading her very kind words about you?
01:03 Well, first of all, Dolly, you know I love you.
01:06 I don't even, I feel like I could sit here and talk about Dolly Parton all night long instead of myself.
01:11 So she can do no wrong. She has taught me so much.
01:14 I mean, like she taught me a lot before I actually knew her personally.
01:18 But now that I know her, it's unreal how much wisdom that woman has.
01:22 So I'll take the love. I'll accept it. I just, I love you, Dolly.
01:27 So you're going on tour starting at the end of this month.
01:29 You're also opening for the Rolling Stones. Briefly tell me what that will be like for you.
01:35 Well, first of all, all of a sudden my family members are wanting to come to the show and I'm like, oh, I'm sure, I'm sure.
01:41 No, it's a bucket list thing for me and my band.
01:45 I mean, my band, we like to, you know, I mean, a lot of a lot of the songs that we love and a lot of the things that we were inspired by are Rolling Stone riffs.
01:53 So it's going to be a fun night for us.
01:55 It's huge. I mean, we get to say that we opened up a show for the Rolling Stones.
02:02 We're done. We're going home.
02:05 Well, I was going to ask, you know, you have this quote about if you're going to dream it, you have to do it.
02:08 What will you do next other than go home?
02:11 You know, I kind of feel like my dreams have like opened doors to other dreams.
02:17 I didn't even really know I had. I mean, even in the acting world and stuff, you know, I kind of got bit by that bug.
02:22 And I learned that I really just like being creative. So whatever that means, I like doing things that are a little scary and stepping outside of my comfort zone.
02:31 And I don't know what's next, but I will tell you what, this business will keep you on your toes.
02:37 So we'll see. We will stay tuned. Congratulations again.
02:41 Have so much fun tonight. Thank you.
02:42 OK.
