From the album Just For Love. This was the second most frequently played song on FM radio after "Fresh Air" ("Fresh Air" became an AM radio hit single as well). A slow but haunting melody I always liked to listen to, written by Dino Valenti under the pen name Jesse Oris Farrow. A later portion of the song regarding witches casting spells in the summer morning mist made "Gone Again" a Halloween season favorite on FM as well.
Lyrically it seems rather abstract from the opening lyrics sung in the first person. A man seems to be answering some questions posed by a girlfriend, the answers at first appear vague, abstract, confusing, mysterious, always culminating in something going round and round until he is "gone again." The entire song finally does make sense, and much of what he says throughout ... but not until we reach the end. Something has happened in that "sweet life" of his that has placed him on an endless quest, a journey of searching that never ends. But you be the judge ... I think the final portion of the video and the lyrics sum it all up.
