00:00 You know, when you reach these kind of moments in life,
00:02 you look back and you're like,
00:04 "Wow, it's been a fun journey.
00:05 "It's been a beautiful trip."
00:07 And what a journey it's been for Luis Fonsi.
00:10 Straight out of college,
00:11 started promoting my first album,
00:13 and it's really been nonstop since then,
00:15 and it's been kind of an evolution
00:16 from album number one to album number 11,
00:19 so that's why "El Viaje" to me represents that journey.
00:22 When you're a superstar releasing your 11th album,
00:25 you've got a lot of experience to pull inspiration from.
00:27 And the cool thing about this album, "El Viaje,"
00:30 is that every song is a city.
00:32 - So how did you decide on each city?
00:34 Because they're not necessarily the biggest cities.
00:38 - Not necessarily, no.
00:39 Well, that's the beautiful thing about cities.
00:41 I mean, we can have an argument
00:43 which city is bigger or this or that.
00:45 Like, they all mean something different to me.
00:48 - And Luis brought some amazing talent along for the ride.
00:52 - Your last single was "Roma" with Laura Pausini.

00:59 Now you're coming out with "Santa Marta,"
01:04 which is Carlos Vives' hometown.

01:09 When you hear the song, it's a celebration of love.
01:12 It's a song that is perfect
01:14 to sing to somebody who you love.
01:16 It's like an anniversary song.
01:17 It's almost a wedding song.
01:18 Once Carlos got involved, I was like,
01:20 this has to be named "Santa Marta,"
01:22 so we kind of rewrote it.
01:24 He wrote his part as well, and we made it ours.
01:27 And that was such a beautiful journey.
