00:00Let's start in Philadelphia with, hey, look who it is, an old friend.
00:06The first place Phillies, you mean, this is my pick to go to the World Series and I'm
00:11loving life.
00:12And the minute Spencer Strider's arm hurt, I went, oh boy, I think these Phillies futures
00:16look really good.
00:17And so is Bryce Harper.
00:18He has been really good as well.
00:20Look at the last 15 days for him, four homers, 14 RBI, scored 13 runs, hitting over 350 with
00:26an 1100 OPS.
00:28He has been tremendous.
00:30He's also a plus 1200 for NL MVP right now.
00:34And I think that is a fantastic wager.
00:35When you look at the Dodgers, again, there's a little bit of cannibalization that goes
00:39on there between Otani and Mookie Betts and even Freeman to a certain degree.
00:44But it's Bryce Harper's team and everyone's just kind of the supporting cast.
00:47Let's be honest.
00:48I mean, as good as Troy Turner is, as fun as Kyle Schwarber is, all these guys, it's
00:53Bryce Harper's show.
00:55And it's nice for once for the Phillies to actually get off to a good start.
00:59Because the last two years, that's never been the case.
01:02They've been terrible in the first half, and then they get red hot and get into the playoffs
01:05and they're super fun.
01:07If they could just, I kept saying this every year, even this offseason, right, how many
01:11shows we do in February, March, and I just kept saying, if the Phillies could just have
01:14a good first half, they're going to run away with this division.
01:18And the pitching staff has been really good.
01:19Wheeler's been terrific.
01:20Suarez has been great.
01:21I mean, they've gotten everything they needed so far.
01:24Sure, they could add some more help.
01:26Sure, Nick Kessing, Alex could turn things around.
01:27That would be nice.
01:28But Bryce Harper right now has been absolutely tremendous.
01:30And I think he should be more in that conversation, getting a great number.
01:33I know in hour two, we're going to talk about this some more.
01:36But Harper's a guy to be circling right now, because the value is really there.
01:40And he stands alone.
01:42And of course, he has that big profile nationally, which is something you need to win that award.
01:48Because remember, at the end of the day, it's a media award.
01:51So you need that big media presence, like an Ohtani, like a Bryce Harper who's won it before.
01:56So keep a close eye on that.
01:57But man, oh man, Bryce Harper's been good the last two weeks.
