Robert Wyatt's first solo album, planted between the crisis with Soft Machine and the brief dazzling excursion of Matching Mole. The work is conceived in the spirit of innovation and exploration and was recorded with some Canterbury friends. In "The end of an ear" you find a Wyatt who has yet to give more precise shape to everything, who has not yet inserted the political elements within his music, and above all, he has not yet been victim of the fall that paralyzed him in 1973.
