00:09 Alright, today we are going to talk about 12 Common Work-Related Health Problems.
00:14 Ever wonder if your job could be affecting your health? Many common workplace issues can take a
00:18 toll on your well-being. Here are some potential problems and how to prevent them.
00:22 1. Hand and Wrist Injuries. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, caused by a pinch
00:26 nerve in your wrist, can be exacerbated by using vibrating tools or repetitive twisting motions.
00:31 Take frequent breaks and consult a doctor or occupational therapist for possible braces or
00:36 positional changes. 2. Back Pain. Whether you're mowing
00:39 lawns or sitting at a desk, back pain is common. Lift with your legs, maintain good posture,
00:44 and ask for help with heavy objects. Remember to move around regularly.
00:49 3. Hearing Loss. Over 30 million people face harmful noise levels at work,
00:53 and 9 million work with materials that can cause hearing loss. Wear earplugs in environments louder
00:58 than 85 decibels. 4. Lower Body Pain or Swelling. Sitting or
01:02 standing for long periods can cause fluid buildup in your legs and feet, known as peripheral edema.
01:07 Move often and considering compression socks if recommended by your doctor.
01:11 5. Eye Strain or Injury. With more than 20,000 workplace eye injuries annually,
01:15 many also suffer from digital eye strain. Follow the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes,
01:21 look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. 6. Stress-Related Pain. Stress contributes to
01:27 headaches, insomnia, stomachaches, concentration problems, depression, and anxiety. Find stress
01:33 relief activities like regular exercise, socializing, or setting aside personal time daily.
01:38 7. Headaches. Headaches are a common cause of missed time at work. Common cause including
01:43 strain of concentrating, everyday job stress, workplace things like noise and smells,

01:57 Maintain good posture, keeping your shoulders relaxed, and avoiding leg crossing.
02:02 9. Hernia. Improper lifting techniques can lead to hernias, where the bowel slits through a weak
02:07 spot in your muscles. Lift correctly using your arms and legs and ask for help with heavy items.
02:12 10. Weight Gain. Unhealthy snacks, fast food, and prolonged sitting can lead to weight gain.
02:18 Pack healthy lunches and snacks and incorporate daily movement into your routine.

02:26 solvents, and exhaust can cause skin issues, including dermatitis.

02:38 fibers, and chemicals can cause respiratory issues. This is a major cause of workplace
