David Walliams reveals he was locked up in Italian jail over passport error

00:00 I went to Venice and I got there and I realised I'd taken my old passport,

00:05 -which was out of date. -Oh, jeez.

00:06 And they were, like, really quite fiercely shouting at me.

00:10 And they locked me up in a cell for seven hours.

00:14 And they didn't... At one point they said,

00:17 "Would you like a glass of water to set?"

00:19 That'd be very nice, thanks very much.

00:21 Anyway, but I still had my hand luggage with me

00:23 and I thought, "Okay, what can I do?"

00:24 And I got out my computer and I just wrote for the seven hours entirely.

00:29 -Fantastic. So you never wasted the time. -No.

00:31 And when they said it's time to go, I was a bit disappointed.

00:33 -Yeah, because I'm like... -Because I haven't quite finished.
