00:00 After several months of severe effects of the El Niño in the country, the rain officially started.
00:05 The one preparing for it is the city of La Nina.
00:08 We will talk about that with Task Force El Niño spokesperson, Asec Joey Villarama.

00:16 Good morning Raffy, good morning Connie and to all of our viewers.
00:20 Usec, what are the government's preparations for the start of the rain?
00:25 Actually, since the start of the year, since Task Force El Niño and La Nina are the same,

00:44 Then the DENR is starting to clean our waterways and floodgates
00:50 of the garbage that can leak and cause flooding.
00:54 In the aspect of agriculture, I am teaching our farmers in the so-called drainage water management
01:01 so that our crops won't be affected when heavy rains come.
01:07 Even though you have extreme weather phenomenon, Asec, El Niño and La Nina,
01:11 how will the government transition to the effects of La Nina?
01:15 Aside from what I have mentioned, it became a test case for us, the typhoon Agon.

01:37 so that we can prepare better for La Nina.
01:41 There is the impact of food, preparation of food and non-food services,
01:49 and the supply evacuation centers and I have mentioned the flood control projects that are ongoing.
01:55 How are the recovery efforts of those who declared a state of calamity because of El Niño?
02:00 We are in the process of rehabilitation of the farmers.
02:05 The assistance of various agencies such as the Department of Agriculture, DSWD, DOLE,
02:12 and the President will continue to visit Mindanao and Rizalas and Luzon
