00:00This year, different calamities once again tested the strength and resilience of the Filipinos.
00:09But in the midst of all of this, the GMA Capuso Foundation has always been there to help.
00:16So before the year ends, let's go back to the projects of the Capuso Foundation.
00:23In the first month of 2024, our farmers faced a severe challenge due to El Niño.
00:36The GMA Capuso Foundation immediately distributed relief goods to farmers affected by the drought.
00:44There is no end to our help whenever there is a typhoon in the country.
00:48Like the typhoon Aghon that hit the province of Quezon.
00:53Typhoon Karina and Typhoon Enteng that hit Metro Manila and some parts of Eastern Visayas.
01:01With the help of the Office of Civil Defense,
01:03we traveled to the city of C-130 to deliver relief goods to the Batanes that was hit by the super typhoon Julian.
01:13Riding a presidential chopper, we went to the isolated areas of Camarines Sur and Alvay
01:20where the typhoon Christine hit.
01:23Our relief operation and feeding program was accompanied by the typhoon Leon, Marse, and Nika
01:33in Cagayan Valley and Aurora.
01:35Even in Catanduanes where the super typhoon Pepito was hit.
01:39You are always there to help us. Thank you very much.
01:43We were also accompanied by those affected by the typhoon Vulcan Canlaon,
01:48African Swine Fever in Batangas, Oil Spills in Bataan and Cavite,
01:53and those who were burned in Isla Puting Bato in Tondo.
01:58In total, more than 306,900 individuals were helped in our Bayanihan operation
02:07by the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
02:11We were also able to build Kapuso School in Mangkayan and Bugyas in Benguet.
02:18Our Sinong Kapuso Project in Batanes was also a new hope.
02:23Kapuso Tulay in Oriental Mindoro was also built.
02:29We also delivered school supplies and hygiene kits to 60,000 students in 25 provinces.
02:38We also treated patients with various conditions
02:42and conducted medical missions and surgical outreach programs.
02:48We also distributed wheelchairs, arm and hand prostheses, and eyeglasses.
02:54Our Sinong Kapuso Project also provided free prostheses.
02:59In our Sagip Dugtong Buhay Bloodletting Project,
03:02we donated 5,952 blood bags.
03:07Our Celebrity Okay-Okay San Joel Bazaar was also successful.
03:14We are very grateful to all the donors, sponsors, partners, and volunteers
03:22who are part of our mission.
03:24In 2025, we hope that the GMA Kapuso Foundation will continue to serve those in need.
03:35Happy New Year to all of us!
03:40The new year has arrived, but some families still have no place to stay in Batanes.
03:45Followed by a taste of the passing of the storm.
03:49GMA Kapuso Foundation brought a new hope.
03:53Under the Sinong Kapuso Project,
03:56we donated iron, cement, and other construction materials.
04:06The islands of Batanes are rich in mineral resources.
04:12These include rocks, limestone, and sand,
04:16which was used by the Ivatans to build typhoon-resistant houses made of rocks.
04:23In 2000, its construction was banned.
04:28The entire Batanes was declared a protected area
04:32to preserve their culture and heritage.
04:36The construction and maintenance of houses made of rocks is a big challenge for the Ivatans.
04:54That's why some of the newly built houses were made of light materials.
05:00Like the house of Rowena from Sabtang Island.
05:04This house was quickly destroyed by the super typhoon Julian.
05:10Because of that, they were forced to cut down the trees and iron.
05:16We couldn't afford to buy.
05:18The price of iron is also expensive.
05:22It's almost Php 1,000 for 9 feet.
05:26This is a new year.
05:28The Sinong Kapuso Project of the GMA Kapuso Foundation is a new hope for our Ivatans.
05:38From Manila, we boarded one of the largest ships of the Philippine Navy.
05:44We used iron, wood, plywood, cement, and other construction materials to reach the mainland Batanes.
05:53We boarded another ship to reach Sabtang.
05:58We were able to provide 28 partially damaged houses with construction and roofing materials.
06:07This is the ground zero.
06:09Many houses were affected.
06:11It's very challenging when it comes to the logistics of the materials.
06:15We were able to provide 10 bags of cement with the help of Ego Cement for 106 totally damaged houses in Batanes.
06:26We would be thankful if we don't have that.
06:28We don't have money to buy iron.
06:32This is a new year.
06:33We hope to give hope to our fellow countrymen.
06:39So that if another storm comes, they will have something to celebrate.
06:45Happy New Year, Kapuso!
06:50Our Kapuso are no longer having to endure the pain of this new year.
06:56Because of the Give-a-Gift Surgical Outreach Program,
07:00the World Surgical Foundation is now able to operate on patients with buco, luz-luz, batos-abdo, and goiter
07:10in the province of Negros Occidental with the help of our volunteer doctors and partners.
07:20In the midst of the eruption of volcano Canlaon on December 9,
07:25Marites went to Valladolid District Hospital in Negros Occidental
07:32to have batos-abdo, or gallstone, operated for free with the help of the GMA Kapuso Foundation and the World Surgical Foundation.
07:44I was forced to come here because I needed to be okay.
07:50I couldn't bear the pain anymore.
07:55Maria was nervous and happy because she was finally able to experience the feelings of a three-year-old girl with batos-abdo.
08:05We were worried that we might have an infection.
08:10I'm happy now because she feels better.
08:17They are among more than 100 patients with luz-luz, batos-abdo, and bucol in Negros Occidental and Cebu
08:26who were given the opportunity to operate on patients under the Give-a-Gift Surgical Outreach Program of the GMA Kapuso Foundation
08:36with the help of the World Surgical Foundation and Valladolid District Hospital.
08:41Most of the patients with batos-abdo were not able to operate for a long time.
08:47Our partnership with GMA Kapuso and other partners helped us a lot because we were able to operate for free.
08:55The objective of this project is to help the less fortunate people of the province of Negros Occidental.
09:04For those patients who are willing, who have these cases,
09:09don't be afraid because all of these surgeons and nurses are well-trained.
09:16We are very thankful to all the volunteer doctors and partners
09:21because of you, they joined in the new year full of hope and no more painful pain.
09:31To those who support our projects, you can deposit in our bank accounts or send to Cebuan Rolier.
09:39It can also be online via GCash, Shopee, Lazada, and Globe Rewards.
