00:00 What about the breakthrough of the season? Obviously we've seen multiple players have
00:06 a sort of breakthrough, whether it be helping their side to achieve Champions League football
00:11 or getting an international call-up and playing well on that stage as well. Who stands out
00:16 for you to have a bit of a breakthrough season?
00:19 For me it has to be Kobi Menou. He's never going to be winning the Young Player of the
00:23 Year accolades right now because there's so much quality in that field. But I feel I should
00:27 almost be a Rookie of the Year award for someone who comes in completely raw to senior football.
00:33 His rise has been meteoric. I know there's always going to be a lot of hype around youngsters,
00:38 particularly Manchester United youngsters, particularly English Manchester United youngsters.
00:42 He sort of ticks all those boxes, but he does look the real deal. He's so calm and composed
00:46 and already right now Man United look a far worse team without Kobi Menou in it. So just
00:52 the way he's gone from under-21s, under-18s football to the first team frame and now potentially
00:57 the European Championship as well. I just don't think you can look past that. And even
01:02 in this modern world of money and high-profile deals, just to see a kid come through an academy
01:07 and have that sort of impact is refreshing and so nice to see.
01:11 Yes, I mean the Stanley wants Kobi Menou in it, doesn't he? Because he's just come in
01:15 and been absolutely superb for the club in a very difficult set of circumstances. But
01:21 the composure he's shown in the ball at times, the leadership I would say, skills, the ability
01:27 to... I mean just the technical ability as well. He's been absolutely superb, obviously
01:33 forced his way into the England squad. I mean not quite a breakthrough as opposed to what
01:37 he had played before, but another one is Cole Palmer. I know I've just given him his signing
01:41 of the season, but he didn't start a Premier League game last season until after City had
01:46 won the title. Being one of the players of the season, showing so much responsibility
01:50 at Chelsea, I think he's got to be up there as well. So yes, plenty of nominees and actually
01:55 interesting to see that plenty of English nominees as well for that unofficial award.
02:01 From my perspective as a Villa reporter, Ollie Watkins, I know he's not a breakthrough player.
02:06 He's in his late 20s and he's been known for a very long time, but his incredible season
02:11 of 19 goals and 13 assists, none of which were penalties, I think has to have a mention
02:17 as well.
02:18 And Jarrod Bramfoise, you know, I still don't think he gets enough credit for the season
02:22 he's had. He's been absolutely immense. He really, really has. Fantastic breakthrough
02:28 campaign. He's just got better and better. And if he isn't on the plane, it would be
02:35 a real, real... I don't know, you know, it would be a disservice to him to be honest
02:42 with you. You know, he's been ever-present pretty much all season. When he's been fit,
02:48 he didn't start the first three games. He's been magnificent. You know, won everything
02:55 as player of the year and young player of the year, understandably, because he's been
