00:03 On the ice we go, game number four of the Western Conference Finals last night in
00:08 Edmonton.
00:09 Not at Rogers Arena, not at the Rogers Center, at Rogers Place.
00:13 A difficult place to win, although Dallas did do so
00:17 in game number three to take a 2-1 series advantage.
00:20 That's the Stars over the Oilers.
00:23 But game number four, Edmonton evens.
00:25 Despite Dallas going up 2-0 early in regulation, they scored an opening goal.
00:31 Wyatt Johnston tickling the twine, less than a minute into action.
00:35 The second goal, less than five minutes into the opening period for
00:38 Edmonton to rally.
00:40 And then Donnie Dreisaitl woke up on this Thursday, checked the box score, and
00:44 had a large smile on his face because his cousin Leon scored a goal.
00:49 He scored, made it 4-2.
00:51 Connor McDavid had three assists last night for the Oilers.
00:55 And Edmonton evens the series with a 5-2 victory,
00:58 which means we are tied at two games all in the Western Conference Finals.
01:03 >> Goes over the total, that's what you wanna see.
01:04 And also, when we talk about correlations, right, Ben?
01:07 We usually talk about the NBA, in particular,
01:09 in the Western Conference Finals, where we're saying, hey,
01:11 the Minnesota Timberwolves play really good defense.
01:13 If that game stays under,
01:14 there's a good chance that they won that game and were covered.
01:17 You take a look at the Edmonton Oilers.
01:18 What's the last thing you wanna say?
01:20 Hey, by the way, the final score in this game was 2-1.
01:22 Immediately, you probably go right to the Dallas Stars as beating
01:25 the Edmonton Oilers.
01:26 But this game was 5-2, you'd say, yeah, higher scoring game,
01:29 Edmonton probably got the best of them.
01:30 But I can't get back to the opening moments of this game when you know,
01:35 if you're the home team, you wanna keep the crowd involved.
01:38 The fact that they got down 2-0, and how quickly crowds can typically change
01:42 in home arenas when they're upset in the playoffs.
01:45 And matter of fact, not even losing by the time they got to the end of the first
01:49 period, evening that up, and then easily handled the business the rest of the way.
01:53 Five unanswered goals by the Edmonton Oilers, enough to lift them up.
01:57 This series has been phenomenal.
01:59 Now it turns into a best of three.
02:00 May the best team win.
02:02 >> Donnie, I can't tell you how many times you look at what we have seen
02:06 throughout the Stanley Cup postseason, and a team takes an early lead, or
02:09 they're up multiple goals, and that lead just evaporates.
02:13 It's like no lead is safe, but that Stanley Cup playoff hockey.
02:17 And yesterday Edmonton entered game number four as a home favorite,
02:21 expected to even the series, minus 137.
02:24 It's what they did.
02:25 They won by three, five to two over that pregame total of five and
02:29 a half, as Donnie alluded to.
02:31 But if you could have bet the game live when Dallas was up 2-0 early in
02:35 the opening period, five minutes in,
02:38 you would have had a huge money line number on the Oilers.
02:41 Live betting Stanley Cup playoff hockey has to have been profitable
02:45 throughout this postseason run, and I said it before.
02:49 After taking that 2-1 series lead, victorious in two straight games, two and
02:54 three, Dallas entered game four last night as a heavy favorite,
02:58 minus 260 to win the Western Conference Finals.
03:01 The Stanley Cup favorites as well, having that series advantage.
03:05 But now we head back to Dallas for a game five and a best of three from here on
03:11 out with a series tied at two games apiece.
03:14 And we are very, very close on that money line once again.
03:18 Minus 120, the updated number on the Dallas Stars.
03:22 DRS, are we going to go the full duration?
03:25 Are we going to see seven in the WCF between the Oilers and the Stars?
03:29 >> I think we probably end up that way.
03:31 And also when you just take a look at that graphic and
03:33 see the numbers here on the money line for the series,
03:35 that shows a lot of respect to the Edmonton Oilers.
03:38 Cuz it's roughly a pick 'em, but it's a best two out of three in the Dallas Stars
03:42 building and the Dallas Stars are a very good opponent and a very good hockey club.
03:46 So I'm feeling good.
03:47 Now if I would have saw something like a minus 165 price on the series for
03:51 the Dallas Stars, that would give me a little bit of trepidation here towards
03:54 betting the Edmonton Oilers.
03:55 But a lot of times that we just look at the spread before a game starts or
03:58 a series of where that price point is.
04:00 And you say, you know what?
04:01 That looks like a really good price point for the Edmonton Oilers at this point.
04:05 So I think we are going seven.
04:07 I hope we go seven.
04:08 That would be fantastic theater to watch it play out to see who actually gets in
04:11 the Stanley Cup finals and
04:12 also we might have a seven game series in the Eastern Conference as well.
