Quezon, Nueva Ecija — Homeowners have the perfect design for their off-grid sanctuary as they fill their elegant home not just with modern details but also objects from their lives.

Welcome to another episode of Unique Homes where we feature tiny houses, farmhouses, modern bahay kubo, and everything in between. Because we know — you can’t stop looking into other people’s homes for inspiration.

While this is another skip from the usual tiny house tour you are so used to, you're going to enjoy touring this house where elegance is a major thing without minimalism taking a backseat. Plus, the house is stuffed with art — and rightfully so. When you have the eyes of a photographer and painter, you probably would have done the same thing.

Take the tour for the rest of the details you need to know.

00:00Hello, Ochi! I'm Sara Grazel Rosario and we're here at Queso Nueva Ecija and I'm going to show you our house from the paintings.
00:16Why paintings? Because most of my savings, I built our house.
00:21And as you can see, there are a lot of plants outside because I'm a plant-eater.
00:27Welcome to our lanai.
00:30Here, there are more plants and the small artworks that I do, as you can see, I have unfinished artwork here.
00:38So, this is where I finish it.
00:44When the pandemic happened, I used to be an event stylist and then I started painting.
00:52And I tried out to sell it for P500, P1,000, P5,000, something like that.
01:00My story in building this house, originally, we have a house in the backyard.
01:06When I became a painter, our house was destroyed.
01:10So, I decided to build it out of the paintings.
01:17This is our old house.
01:20So, now, it's a work area.
01:22And when I'm painting something messy and making flowers, this is where I do it.
01:28Let's take a look.
01:30So, this is where I hang, for the meantime, my in-progress paintings.
01:35And here in this area, this is where we put the stack of flowers.
01:40And sometimes, the flowers that are arranged for delivery.
01:44Sometimes, this is also our work area.
01:52This is a classic tropical house.
01:55And I think everything that I love is in it.
01:59Our architect just presented it to me and I said, this is what I want.
02:04No revisions, no anything.
02:07He immediately got the house that I wanted.
02:09I wanted a lot of windows, a lot of sun.
02:15Can you see the outside? Let's go inside.
02:20Welcome to our living room.
02:22This is where we relax and receive our guests.
02:26This is also where I showcase my favorite paintings.
02:34And this is our dining area.
02:36As you can see, even though my favorite color is color white, I made it color gray.
02:42Because if I bring a painting here, the chair will get dirty.
02:51This is our kitchen area.
02:53We have this very cute door grip from Samsung.
02:56We don't cook here yet because we don't have an exhaust fan yet.
03:00So, this is the least favorite part of my house.
03:02It's a bit neglected.
03:03But we have a dirty kitchen outside.
03:06That's where we cook.
03:07And we have our photo wall here.
03:10My husband is a photographer.
03:12So, he likes taking photos.
03:14And when he posted our pictures here in this area,
03:18that's when I felt that this house belongs to us.
03:25This area used to be a really long garden lawn.
03:31When I moved out of the house, I wanted it to be green.
03:34Here inside the house, I was able to put plants.
03:40Before we go upstairs to the second floor,
03:43I will show you the three pieces of onyx that are attached to the wall.
03:48So, this is made of resin pigments and natural stones.
03:53And this is our second floor.
03:55This is our family area.
03:57Because the living room downstairs is usually for receiving guests
04:01so that I can feature the paintings that are not yet delivered
04:05or my favorite paintings.
04:10We have three rooms here on the second floor.
04:12One of those rooms is our bedroom.
04:15So, this is our bedroom.
04:17And this is our living room.
04:19We have three rooms here on the second floor.
04:21One of those rooms is our guest room.
04:24Come, let's take a look.
04:30Most of the colors are yellow.
04:33And the theme is very Scandinavian.
04:40Most of the materials used here are concrete.
04:44We can't use a lot of wood here
04:49because it's a farm.
04:51There are a lot of mothers.
04:55This is the second room.
04:57This is Blake's room.
04:59Come, let's take a look.
05:01Blake!
05:02Come, say hi to the three OGs.
05:09This room is gray
05:11because Blake wants a manly color
05:14because I have a binata.
05:19This is the last room in the house.
05:22This is our master's bedroom.
05:29This is Patrick.
05:31Say hi to the three OGs.
05:33Hi.
05:34He's resting. He's tired from driving.
05:37In this room,
05:39there are mostly relaxing things.
05:42Because I like lights,
05:44there are a lot of lights and lamps.
05:46And we also have our paintings here.
05:49I don't usually do portraits of people,
05:52but we're an exception because we're a couple.
06:00And this is our balcony.
06:02One of the nicest huts in the house
06:05because there's a free view from our neighbor.
06:10Hello, Nino Chito. Thank you for the trees.
06:17If you're going to buy land,
06:19make your neighbor a nature lover.
06:22Go to a community where,
06:24when you go outside,
06:26you have a free view.
06:28Vitamin D is very important
06:30for people with depression.
06:32I have depression,
06:34so the sunlight really helps.
06:40And this is our bathroom.
06:42This is one of the most relaxing places in the house.
06:45Let's find out why.
06:47So here in the bathroom,
06:49we have a bathtub
06:51and we have a glass window
06:54where you can do cloud watching.
06:57I also like to pee and take a bath here.
07:04And we have here our sink.
07:07And this is my vanity mirror.
07:10And we have our walk-in closet.
07:13So as you can see,
07:15it's not very organized,
07:17so I don't like to be washed.
07:22This house is 240 square meters.
07:26The floor area is 1,000 square meters.
07:31We bought this land
07:33for less than Php 100,000.
07:35We just got married.
07:40If you want to check my paintings,
07:42the paintings that I paint,
07:45visit my IG page
07:47at ItsSaraDelRosario.
07:49And on Facebook,
07:51Pinta by Sara.
07:59And that ends our house tour.
08:01I hope you were inspired by my story.
08:03Keep pursuing your passion.
08:05You never know,
08:06you might be able to build a new house.
08:08Bye-bye!
