Welcome to another episode of Unique Homes where we feature tiny houses, farmhouses, modern bahay kubo, and everything in between. Because we know — you can’t stop looking into other people’s homes for inspiration.
____
Santa Maria, Bulacan — Hanggang saan aabot ang travel refunds mo?

Okay. Let's skip that famous slogan for now. This one is a serious note.

Like many people who had their travel plans disrupted by the pandemic, Christian was able to save money out of his travel refunds. And while it may be tempting to splurge on a new TV or a shopping spree, he had a smarter way to use his money — a tiny house for himself.

The tiny home looks elegant with its black exterior, and its minimalism continues inside. Despite its small size, this house is big in style which will make you appreciate small living.

Enjoy the tiny house tour!

00:00Hello OG, I'm Christian. We are now here in Santa Maria, Bulacan where you can see my black pad
00:06on top of my travel refunds.
00:15Here in this area, if you can see, this is my mini terrace or place where my friends and I gather or chill.
00:22They thought this was a container but it's not totally a container because it's made of longspan,
00:30so it's a container-inspired pad.
00:37Actually, I made this black pad during the pandemic and I had travels during that time,
00:44like in Europe and Asia, I also had domestic travels, but they were all canceled due to the pandemic.
00:51Then, I used my savings to make this black pad. It's like my staycation pad since I couldn't leave during the pandemic.
01:05So, we're now here in the living area or entertainment room. You can see the TV and then my sound system.
01:13This is where I watch TV like OG, listen to music, play games, or chill.
01:22Here, you can see my big portrait that travels. You can see that my picture is from Paris, Rome, and London.
01:32Like I said, this black pad is made out of my travel refunds because during that time,
01:38when I made this, there was a pandemic so we couldn't travel.
01:43If you're asking me what my favorite destination is, it's Prague, Czech Republic.
01:49So, if you can see this Santunino, it's where I bought it in Prague, which is called Santunino de Praga.
01:55Now, because of my travels, I was actually blessed with the Vatican.
02:05The last time I went to Europe, I stayed at a tiny house.
02:09I liked it because it's cozy, even though it's small, and it's functional.
02:13That's where I thought of getting it made.
02:17But actually, this style that I continued in Europe, it's style is like this.
02:23In a way, it's customized for me.
02:25The comfortability is designed for me so it's relaxing for me.
02:31That's why I thought of making it black because the design is elegant and sleek.
02:38We're here at the dining area.
02:40This is a bar-type table.
02:42I made this because it's aesthetic and at the same time, it's a space saver.
02:48So, if you're going to use it, just take it out.
02:50If you're not going to use it, just put it in.
02:52So, in a way, it has a weight if you're not going to use it.
03:02From the dining area, this is the dining area.
03:07From the dining area, this is the kitchen area of Blackpad.
03:11As you can see, I have an induction cooker, a rain chute, a microwave, and an ice maker.
03:19So, this is the pantry area or stacks of my food.
03:25Down here is the storage area for cleaning.
03:32I'll just show you the Budol finds that I saw at Shopee.
03:36It's an automatic faucet.
03:38It's a sensor.
03:40You just have to put your hand like this and wash it.
03:42It's ideal if your hands are oily or dirty.
03:46You don't have to hold the faucet anymore.
03:54Blackpad is around 37 square meters inside.
03:58But outside, like on the terrace, it occupies around 45 square meters in total.
04:04The materials used are container-inspired, which means I used a longspan.
04:10At the same time, it has insulation inside so that it doesn't get hot or get absorbed by the heat.
04:16It's double-walled.
04:18Part of the kitchen and bathroom is cement.
04:22And then the part of the living room is hard-reflects.
04:28So, this is the extension of our kitchen.
04:32It's also a storage.
04:34Here, you can see the air fryer, plates, glass, then mini ref in our mini house.
04:42In front of our kitchen is the bathroom.
04:45Since the place is small, we used a sliding door to save space.
04:51Let's go inside.
04:54So, this is our bathroom.
04:56Let's go to our bedroom.
04:58Of course, I only have one bedroom because I'm the only one here.
05:05Actually, my bedroom only consists of, as you can see, a bed where the magic happens.
05:11So, this is my bedroom.
05:13This is my bedroom.
05:15Actually, my bedroom only consists of, as you can see, a bed where the magic happens.
05:23Here, we also have a nightlight, a table, and a chair.
05:27So, that's it.
05:29It's very simple and minimalistic.
05:33How much does a black pad cost?
05:37The cost of making a black pad ranges from ₱800 to ₱1,000,
05:42including some of the furniture and household items, but not including labor.
05:50My advice if you want to make a container pad or even a house is
05:56to do some research about budget.
06:00Think carefully about what you want so that you won't regret it when you're done with the house.
06:05So that you can really do what you want inside.
06:16That ends our house tour.
06:18I hope you enjoyed and were inspired by my story.
06:20Thank you for watching.
06:22Bye-bye!
06:23And don't forget to like and subscribe.
