00:00 Hello OG! I'm Ruz Mantilla Manatad.
00:03 And I'm Ayan Noel Manatad.
00:04 Tara, samahan niyo kami at mag-relax tayo sa farmhouse namin dito sa Leyte.
00:09 So before I give you a tour of the house, this lot is actually owned by my parents and we call it Nioy's Farm.
00:26 The lot is a 2.8 hectare lot and our house is a 35 square meter house.
00:32 This house is built on a concrete foundation and we added wood accents which are gemelina and santol.
00:42 And we got these wood from Typhoon Odette.
00:45 This is our porch. This is where we usually receive our guests kung may mga bisita kami.
00:53 And this is our main door.
00:56 This wall, I really wanted to use the PVC wall panels.
01:00 Kaya lang it's very out of the budget namin.
01:03 So I looked for cheaper ways to achieve the look that I wanted.
01:07 And we used 1x1 S4S wood and nailed it to the concrete wall.
01:12 And this is where we use our gemelina wood.
01:21 I was born and raised in Cebu City and my husband is born and raised in Maramagbukidnon.
01:27 And before we got married, I really wanted to have our prenup shoot dito sa farm ng parents ko.
01:33 And the first time he got here, he fell in love and he got the idea to move here and build our own house.
01:42 Growing up, yung dream house ko, actually the same kami ng husband ko.
01:46 We both wanted a simple, tiny house, specifically located sa province.
01:51 Yung walang traffic, yung tahimik lang, and parang stress-free.
01:56 So this is our dining area. This table is made of tugas wood.
02:04 This is where we usually eat or do work since we have direct lighting.
02:09 Since most of the areas in the house are in direct lighting.
02:13 And these chairs, I got it from a second-hand item store in Cebu.
02:18 I really love its imperfections and in terms of durability, it's still very durable.
02:24 And this is our living room. I designed it as a sunken living room to have a high ceiling effect.
02:32 This is where we usually relax after work, watch TV, and just enjoy the view.
02:40 This is our kitchen. We have here our fridge, our tiny sink, and our filtered water that we use for drinking.
02:47 And our coffee maker, other appliances, and our stove.
02:51 For the overall design of the house, we were actually inspired by adding wood pieces in the interior and the exterior parts of the house.
03:03 We used santol wood on our floor on top of a concrete slab, and we also used it as shelves in our kitchen.
03:11 And we used gemelina wood for our door and our hanging workstation table.
03:17 For the exterior of the house, I added breeze blocks to have a classic look.
03:22 And at the same time, having natural ventilation inside the house.
03:32 What makes this farmhouse a home is actually the people around us.
03:37 Especially our parents who live nearby.
03:40 And on weekdays, we have people coming in and help us in the farm.
03:45 And on weekends, we have our family who visit us.
03:54 So here, I personally painted these walls using asbestos lime wash paint to have accent walls and to break the monotony of the overall white scheme of the house.
04:06 So this is our mini workstation.
04:13 This is where we actually use the gemelina wood for our table.
04:16 And this is where we store our personal stuff like our books, our toy car collection.
04:22 And for the shelves, it's still gemelina wood.
04:25 We started planning last February 2022 and the construction started on March 28 and completed on September 30, 2022.
04:43 So the overall construction lasted for six months.
04:50 The open space below was not originally part of the plan because we wanted to have our house elevated.
04:57 And during the actual construction of the house, that's where we realized that the site is really slopey.
05:04 And we got the idea to have an outdoor living space.
05:08 For the windows, we use Jalousie windows.
05:15 So this is for us to maximize the wind coming inside, natural ventilation, and natural lighting as well.
05:22 So one of the advantages of using Jalousie windows is that when it rains, you can tilt it to an angle so that the rain doesn't get in.
05:31 And at the same time, there's still wind that gets in so that it's not hot inside the house.
05:37 And we planned it to have it from floor to ceiling height to make the space feel and look bigger.
05:45 [Music]
05:50 This is our bathroom.
05:52 So we have here a lavatory, our water closet, and we purposely have this niche for us to have more storage.
05:59 And still, we use Jalousie windows for natural ventilation.
06:04 And we soon plan to install blinds for us to have more privacy.
06:10 But as of now, we don't need it since there's no one outside and it's the back portion of the farm.
06:17 And here, we have our shower area.
06:20 So all of our fixtures here in the house are all black, like our shower, our faucets, and bidets, switches, and outlets to have a classic look.
06:32 [Music]
06:37 For the lot, our parents gave this to us for free.
06:40 They gave us the freedom to choose where to build our house around the farm.
06:45 For the construction of the house, it's roughly around P30,000 to P35,000 per square meter.
06:51 For the overall estimated price of the house, it's around P1.1 million, excluding the wood from the debris of Typhoon Adept.
07:00 [Music]
07:05 So this is our bedroom.
07:06 So we have it designed so that our king-sized bed really fits.
07:11 And here, we have our bay window.
07:14 So this is actually my husband's idea for us to have more storage and space, and we can actually use it as a working table.
07:23 And as you can see, you won't be able to see any closets.
07:26 It's because we maximize the space underneath our bed.
07:31 So here are the things that we use every day, like our clothes.
07:37 And here are the things that we don't use every day, like our bedsheets, pillowcases, and other things.
07:46 So this is actually my farm son's idea.
07:50 He made these keys so that we can open the storage.
07:54 [Music]
08:01 So this is our deck.
08:02 This is one of our favorite spots here in the house.
08:05 And we have here our chair.
08:07 This is actually my spot.
08:08 This is my corner and our plants, our hanging shelves.
08:12 And this is where we spend our nights stargazing, chilling, and enjoy the view of the farm.
08:19 [Music]
08:22 Thank you for joining us today on our farmhouse tour.
08:26 We hope that we were able to inspire you with our story.
08:29 And you never know, you might also have your own farmhouse.
08:34 Bye!
