00:00Hello, OG! I'm Teng. Welcome to our glass house here in Pangasinan.
00:04Come on in!
00:14So our house is a two-story minimalist home.
00:18It consists of three bedrooms, a kitchen,
00:21and a whole lot more that you'll see once we go inside.
00:24Let's go!
00:30So this is our main door here in the first floor.
00:39On this side is our foyer.
00:41The first thing you'll see is our shoe cabinet, our pictures,
00:45and I like sanded candles, so I like lighting this up whenever I come home
00:51just to bring scent inside the house.
00:55Our compound is approximately four hectares.
01:02We only developed 1.5 hectares.
01:05Our house is approximately 280 square meters.
01:13Over here, we have these customized shelves.
01:17As you can see, we don't have picture frames on our walls.
01:21We're not a big fan of putting pictures on our walls,
01:25so we created an area where we can put our pictures, family pictures.
01:30It's still minimal. We don't put a lot of decorations.
01:35We like to keep it simple.
01:37Less cleanliness, less clutter.
01:39And when you move over, you'll see that we have this plant under our stairs.
01:45A touch of green, earthy feels with our pebbles.
01:50And when you come over here, you'll see our pictures,
01:54our print-up pictures from 10 years ago.
01:57We didn't paint it.
01:59It's just on the floor because it has a pop-off color.
02:03But we also like the feel that it's on the floor,
02:05like it's in an art gallery.
02:12Our home is inspired by industrial design.
02:15You can see that it consists of more of cement finish, metal, and wood
02:20to soften because the cement finish, it comes out strong.
02:30So this is our first room, the kids' bedroom.
02:34So this is our kids' room.
02:36We have two boys. Their names are Dom and David.
02:40We wanted them to share bedrooms
02:42because we believe that sharing bedrooms would make them closer together.
02:47They're able to share things and their toys.
02:51And on this side, they have two cabinets, one for each.
02:56And their toys are just upstairs.
02:59Because sometimes they have toys that they don't want to play with.
03:02So what we do is, when they don't want to play, we hide them upstairs.
03:08This wall, as you can see, is an accent wall.
03:11There's one side that my husband likes.
03:14Since the other side is plain, it's cement finish,
03:17it has an accent wall that serves as a decor.
03:22As you can see, our beds are Japanese-inspired beds that are padded for safety reasons.
03:28Just in case they hit their knees or their foot.
03:31It's not too painful.
03:35Over here, our kids have sliding doors.
03:38My husband wants them to have outdoor access.
03:42They can see the greens of the property.
03:46And then over here is their toilet and bath.
03:50It's a Jack and Jill because it also has access from the playroom.
03:56As you can see, our door is glass-frosted to keep in the theme of our home, which is a glass house.
04:03You can't see it like this.
04:05It still has privacy.
04:07So even if you take a bath inside, you can't see it.
04:16Personally, my dream home was more of a traditional one.
04:19More of the houses that you see in the provinces.
04:24But when I met my husband, who's an architect, architect Gianpaolo Bauzon,
04:29we were planning our house, and he said that a minimal house with less things, less furniture,
04:36more of clean spaces.
04:38So I trusted him.
04:48So this is our second room, the kids' playroom.
04:51Let's go!
04:52So inside the playroom, you'll see their PlayStation, their video games, and an arcade console.
05:00And of course, the TV playing OG.
05:03Hello, OG!
05:05Don't forget to subscribe!
05:07On this side, there's also a sliding door.
05:10They also have access outside, and they still have a view of our green space.
05:17We started constructing our home way back in 2017.
05:22It took one year.
05:23As you can see, we're on a hill.
05:25So what they started to do was to make the ground harder,
05:29just to make sure that our foundation is secure.
05:32He didn't want it to be flat.
05:34He, being an architect, believes that when the house has layering,
05:39it looks better, it's more appealing.
05:42He wants that when you enter our gate, it's like, where's the house?
05:54So we are now here at the main room, which is our bedroom.
05:58Let's go inside.
06:00So inside, the first thing you'll see is our bed.
06:04The same with our kids' bed.
06:06It's also Japanese-inspired.
06:07It's low and padded.
06:09On this side, you'll see that we don't have side tables
06:13because we already have this.
06:15It's also easy to access.
06:19On this side, is our TV cabinet.
06:22A little back story,
06:24we didn't have a TV cabinet for two years.
06:27Our TV was just on the floor
06:29because we didn't know how to place it
06:33so that our view wouldn't get blocked.
06:36It's very important to my husband that when he's lying down,
06:39we can see our outer space.
06:42So eventually, he customized a cabinet
06:45that we can pull so that it's in the middle of our view
06:49when we're watching TV.
06:51On this side, I love to read.
06:53Personally, these books are from my brother-in-law.
06:56So if we have books, we have an area for reading.
07:01I can read in two pages.
07:03This is the area for reading.
07:05I can read in peace and of course,
07:07it's also a place for relaxation.
07:11So we're now here in our bathroom.
07:15The first thing you'll see is our his and hers sink
07:19and a little bit of our toiletries.
07:22And then on this side is our bathtub and our toilet.
07:28Our toilet has a sliding door
07:32because sometimes, of course,
07:34you and your husband go to the bathroom together.
07:37So for a little privacy, we can close this.
07:41And then this is one of my guilty pleasures
07:46that I didn't think I'd like.
07:50This tub is a Japanese one.
07:53It's a seating position on this side.
07:55It's just small.
07:56I didn't actually think of this tub.
07:59It was my husband's idea.
08:01But he never used it.
08:03I'm the only one who uses it.
08:09So on this side is our open closet.
08:12Welcome to our mini closet.
08:16We don't have a lot of clothes.
08:18Usually, we just wear the same clothes.
08:21Sometimes, they think we don't change.
08:23But actually, we just buy a lot of pieces
08:26with the same kind of shirt.
08:28So to complete our bathroom experience,
08:32let me show you our shower area.
08:34So if you notice, it doesn't have a lock.
08:37It's also an open concept.
08:39And then you might say that we don't have a drain.
08:43It has one.
08:44It's hidden here in the stones.
08:46So when you shower, there's no water pool
08:49because the water slides directly here.
08:52And then on this side,
08:55And then on this side,
08:57we have windows for ventilation.
09:00It's not a ladder.
09:02It's like a towel holder.
09:05So it's easy to put it on and take it out.
09:17Here in our part of our home,
09:20you might say that it's not sad.
09:24It's like you're secluded or isolated.
09:28Not really.
09:29For us, isolation depends on what you want
09:33as the homeowners.
09:35We actually like the peace that we have
09:38in this part of our compound that is secluded.
09:41We like our privacy.
09:44Even if our children run away,
09:47they can do whatever they want.
09:50So over here, we have a small bridge.
09:53My husband made this
09:55because he wants to separate our main house
09:58from our working station.
10:00So let's go.
10:02Let's take a tour inside.
10:07So this is our workroom slash classroom.
10:11Originally, this was supposed to be our theater room.
10:14My husband and I like to watch movies
10:17with our kids.
10:19But the pandemic hit,
10:22so we had to convert it to a classroom
10:25where our kids can do their online classes.
10:28So over here is my husband's working area.
10:31This is where he draws.
10:33And then beside it is his Lego collection.
10:36He likes to collect.
10:39So our workroom has access
10:42to one of the best parts of our house,
10:45which is our balcony.
10:47This is also our breakfast nook.
10:50It's good to have coffee here,
10:52especially if you want to see the sunrise.
10:54So let me introduce to you to my family.
10:57This is my husband, Architect Paulo.
10:59And this is my eldest son, Dominic.
11:02Say hi, Dominic.
11:03Hi.
11:04We live in a compound.
11:06In this lot, we have three main houses.
11:10My husband has a family home
11:13with his parents and his siblings.
11:15And then the other house is owned by his big brother.
11:21So we're here at the exciting part of our house,
11:25which is our balcony.
11:28So this is our balcony.
11:32Which is our living area
11:35and our dining area.
11:37It's just an open space.
11:39Even if we're in the kitchen
11:42and our friends are here,
11:44we still interact together.
11:46So this is the main attraction of our house.
11:50That's why it became a glass house.
11:52These are big sliding windows.
11:55Every December, we just open up this window
11:59and that's it.
12:00We have fresh air.
12:02We don't need to open our air conditioner.
12:04But now, it's summer.
12:06When it's hot, we just roll down our blinds.
12:16So this next part is my favorite spot in our house.
12:20My kitchen, my sanctuary.
12:22I love to bake and to cook.
12:25So a little backstory.
12:28I started baking.
12:30Until now, the mixer that my husband gave me 10 years ago
12:34is still my baby.
12:35I bake cookies and cheesecakes with it.
12:39So over here,
12:40my request to my husband when he designed my kitchen
12:44is that I want a lot of counter space.
12:47And to cook with a view.
12:50And then here is our gas stove.
12:53I prefer cooking over fire than electric.
12:57So for those who are wondering why we don't have an exhaust.
13:01First of all, my husband doesn't like to have a hole.
13:04He also doesn't like to block the view.
13:07So I'll show you one of our messy parts of the kitchen.
13:13It's our telescopic exhaust.
13:16So I'll press it.
13:24So you can adjust this.
13:27You just have to press and turn on the light.
13:35Over here is our small pantry.
13:38Our stocks are there.
13:40Ingredients, etc.
13:42And then next to it is our dream refrigerator.
13:46Samsung.
13:47So maybe Samsung.
13:49Maybe.
13:53Here, it's smart.
13:55I think it's smarter than me.
13:58So you can play YouTube.
14:01You can search the internet for your recipes.
14:09Five years ago, I think this was around...
14:13The price has changed since the pandemic.
14:16But five years ago, this was around Php 7,000 to Php 8,000.
14:25What makes our house a home is that it is for us.
14:29It is not just for other people to appreciate.
14:33So for us, our priority when we renovate, when we curate our home,
14:38is that it's for us, for our kids.
14:47So that ends our tour.
14:49I hope you enjoyed this episode.
14:51And I hope you were inspired by the story of our glass house.
14:55And maybe next time, your dream home will be featured here in OG.
14:59So thank you again for watching.
15:01Bye!
