00:00 Do you remember those movies that marked your childhood?
00:03 For me, they represented the ultimate journey in nostalgia
00:06 every time I watched them as an adult.
00:09 But that's not the case anymore.
00:11 It turns out that some of those beloved classics
00:14 are not as innocent as they seem.
00:16 From the theory of the dark curse in Harry Potter
00:19 to the evil intentions of Mary Poppins,
00:22 these theories about movies
00:23 have the power to shake up your sweet childhood memories
00:26 and completely ruin them.
00:29 We all know that Harry Potter, our hero,
00:31 triumphs over Voldemort, saves the show
00:34 and somehow lives happily ever after.
00:36 But what would happen if this story
00:38 wasn't all about sun and rainbows?
00:41 As we were told,
00:43 at the heart of the saga is a prophecy
00:45 according to which either Harry or Voldemort
00:47 must perish at the hands of the other,
00:49 because neither of them can survive as long as the other lives.
00:52 We, the public, naturally assumed
00:54 that this meant that they were the greatest enemies of each other.
00:58 But what if it went further?
01:00 What if their fate was so closely linked,
01:03 meaning that they can only cease to exist
01:05 if one takes the life of the other?
01:07 This would make Harry and Voldemort somehow immortal,
01:10 since neither of them could die of natural causes.
01:14 Oh dear,
01:15 this would also mean that Harry could not join his loved ones in the afterlife,
01:19 the thing he eagerly desired throughout the saga.
01:22 Instead, he would be condemned to observe time
01:25 take away all those he loves so much.
01:27 Pretty dark, isn't it?
01:29 If so, we could find ourselves waiting for a sequel
01:32 called "Harry Potter and the Eternal Melancholy".
01:36 Okay, listen to me.
01:41 And if I told you that Mary Poppins and Pennywise are the same person?
01:45 Yes, you are absolutely right to think that I am crazy,
01:49 but I have proof.
01:50 To begin with,
01:51 both are supernatural beings,
01:53 reappearing in our world every few decades.
01:56 25 years for Poppins,
01:58 27 for Pennywise.
01:59 Then,
02:01 they both have a weakness for children,
02:03 especially those called Georgie.
02:06 They feed on the emotions of their young prey,
02:08 Mary is fed on imagination and happiness,
02:11 while Pennywise is part of pure terror.
02:15 Moreover,
02:15 they are both stars,
02:17 integrating singing and dancing into their sinister routines.
02:20 But that's where things get really weird.
02:23 They both have a talent for making people float.
02:26 Pennywise does it in the sewers,
02:28 while Mary Pey insists on making people float with her faithful balloons.
02:32 And guess who also likes balloons?
02:34 Yes, Pennywise.
02:35 Especially those in red.
02:37 I guess they did it on purpose,
02:39 but in "The Return of Mary Poppins",
02:41 keep an open eye for this little clue with the red balloon.
02:44 So,
02:45 either our favorite doll is the same akabic as Pennywise,
02:48 or
02:49 she is
02:49 really disguised as her.
02:51 The theory holds up perfectly.
02:53 Every 25 years,
02:54 this entity goes down to earth under the influence of Mary Pey,
02:57 and every 27 years,
02:58 it comes back under Pennywise.
03:00 One thing is for sure,
03:02 I will never watch "Mary Poppins" the same way again.
03:05 Ah,
03:08 the beloved "Shrek" series really brings out the best in us.
03:11 Especially since we can see some of our favorite fairy tale characters throughout the film,
03:16 while following the adventures of this adorable green ogre.
03:19 Now,
03:20 let's take a closer look at Shrek's faithful acolyte,
03:23 Lan.
03:23 He may seem to be an original creation for the movies,
03:26 but what would you say if I told you that he actually has roots in another story?
03:31 Let me remind you of the classic movie "Pinocchio".
03:34 In a part of the movie,
03:35 children with bad behavior are taken to a place called "Island of Pleasure".
03:40 And in a scene that traumatized me a little,
03:42 these turbulent children turn into dwarfs.
03:45 Did it also mark you?
03:47 You may remember one of them,
03:49 who was called
03:50 Lampwick,
03:51 who was the worst of all.
03:52 Well,
03:53 there is a theory that he would have found a way to get out of Pinocchio's world directly to join the Shrek franchise.
04:00 Some even suggest that these children got so used to their new form of dwarf,
04:05 that they decided to take the best part of it and join the Shrek team.
04:09 After all,
04:10 we already know that Pinocchio himself appears in one of the Shrek movies.
04:14 Donkey and Lampwick are both engaged in very important personal journeys.
04:18 And that wouldn't surprise me if they were allies.
04:21 Stranger crossovers have taken place in fairy tales.
04:24 Well then,
04:28 let's dive into the world of "Monsters and Sea" by Pixar.
04:31 Where you know that the inhabitants of Monstropolis lead a life totally separate from us humans.
04:37 I never understood why these monsters were always so terrified by us.
04:41 I mean,
04:42 why do they think we are all such toxic creatures?
04:45 If you are like me,
04:46 you are also wondering where this fear comes from.
04:49 It's a piece of the puzzle that the movies don't reveal.
04:52 But what would happen if it was due to the fact that the first encounter between monster and human
04:57 took place during this traumatic moment known as the Great Pestilence?
05:01 Let's rewind.
05:03 We are in the 14th century,
05:05 and Europe is ravaged by the famous bubonic chaos.
05:08 Anyone who had the bad luck to catch it suffered horrible symptoms and a quick death.
05:13 Now,
05:14 imagine that these cute little monsters opened their first door to the human world in the middle of this nightmare.
05:20 Say they catch this super contagious disease and bring it back to Monstropolis,
05:26 spreading panic among them.
05:28 No wonder they are convinced that humans are just trouble.
05:32 This theory explains why the incident 2319 was so important in the original film.
05:37 When a monster accidentally brings back a human sock,
05:40 it's chaos.
05:41 But think about it.
05:42 If they are convinced that human affairs carry the plague,
05:45 everything is explained.
05:46 They even go so far as to shave the poor guy who touched the sock.
05:50 And the fleas spread the bubonic plague.
05:52 So getting rid of his hair would have been a smart move.
05:56 Converging information, isn't it?
05:59 Toy Story fans say they can explain why Woody is so loyal to Andy
06:05 and wants to stay with him forever.
06:07 You may have noticed that since the beginning of the Toy Story movies,
06:10 we see Andy go from childhood to college.
06:13 But we never see his mother.
06:15 Well, maybe you never noticed it before,
06:18 but that's why I'm here.
06:20 The question is, where is Andy's father in the photo?
06:24 A theory suggests that before belonging to Andy,
06:27 Woody belonged to Andy's absent father.
06:29 The reason for this absence is the dark part, however.
06:33 According to this theory, Andy's father would have died after a long fight against polio.
06:38 Before the Toy Story 1 story begins.
06:40 Pretty sinister, isn't it?
06:42 I know it doesn't seem to come out of nowhere,
06:45 but this theory goes back to a man named Mike Mozart,
06:48 who revealed it in an interview in 2017.
06:52 Mozart was close to one of the creators of Toy Story 1,
06:55 and apparently that's what the author thought.
06:59 It turns out that Andy's father was also called Andy,
07:02 and that this name was engraved on Sheriff Woody,
07:05 not by little Andy,
07:06 but in the 1950s by Andy's father.
07:09 I dare say that I have never seen such an intense story before.
07:13 Maybe it was better to omit it anyway.
07:16 I know you probably like Forrest Gump as much as I do.
07:21 But hey, despite its sweet and comforting plot,
07:24 the film hides a touch of darkness under its surface.
07:28 As Forrest would say,
07:29 "Life is like a box of chocolates.
07:31 Sometimes you come across a bitter one."
07:34 A theory about Forrest's son and Jenny
07:36 casts a shadow over their allegedly happy union.
07:40 There is an important scene in the film
07:42 where Forrest and Jenny share a romantic moment.
07:45 Just after that,
07:46 you will remember that Forrest asks Jenny to marry him,
07:49 opening his heart to her in a rush of pure affection.
07:52 Yet Jenny's reaction is lethargic,
07:55 almost disinterested.
07:56 The kind of reaction that could break someone's heart.
07:59 She broke mine, I admit it.
08:01 A few months later,
08:02 Jenny appears pregnant.
08:04 But here is the theory.
08:06 Some people say that Jenny was already pregnant
08:09 when she met Forrest,
08:11 adding a dark twist to their relationship.
08:14 But knowing Forrest's unwavering love and compassion,
08:17 he probably welcomed the child with all his heart,
08:20 regardless of the circumstances.
08:22 Ah, I feel so bad for him.
08:24 (thunder rumbling)
