00:00I mean, your numbers are suggesting exactly what we've seen as the response from lawmakers.
00:05We've seen GOP lawmakers pretty united in their response that this is a rigged, a rigged
00:10judicial process.
00:11Here it was a rigged trial, a sham outcome.
00:15And Democrats have been united in their response that no one is above the law.
00:19In the poll, did voters do voters think that Trump is guilty or does that fall amongst
00:24party lines?
00:26So by a small margin, voters think that Trump was guilty.
00:33I mean, we asked the question, regardless of what you think of Donald Trump, do you
00:37think he's mostly guilty of the crimes that he has just been convicted of in the state
00:42of New York?
00:43Or were these politically motivated charges in a trial held in a demographic, a democratic
00:49jurisdiction?
00:51And he was, you know, largely not guilty.
00:5357 percent say largely guilty or mostly guilty, 43 percent say largely not guilty.
01:02And again, the partisan splits are fascinating, right?
01:0681 percent of Republicans say not guilty, 20 percent say guilty, 91 percent of Democrats
01:13say guilty, 10 percent say not guilty, and independents split 60-40, 60 percent say guilty
01:21and 40 percent say not guilty.
01:23Now, what's important is that this was largely expected.
01:27In a similar question that we ran three weeks ago, 55 percent expected Trump to be guilty.
01:37So when I say that it's already factored in into public opinion, that's what I mean, that
01:43I think that the decision went by and large in line with the broad expectation of each
01:49of the voter groups and voters in general.
01:52And that's why it hasn't changed the overall nature of the race or the overall consideration
01:58that these voters are making around who they would pick as their next president.
