Timboon Demons defender Bess Hallyburton speaks following her side's narrow win against South Rovers in round nine of the Warrnambool and District league.
Transcript
00:00 Beth, a hard fought win today against South Rovers, you must be happy with that?
00:04 Yeah, all credit to South, they played a great game and we just managed to hold it off in the end.
00:12 Was there anything you guys did particularly well that you were impressed by?
00:15 I think we had lots of different combinations that we tried today, had lots of girls stepping up today
00:20 and they just slotted in there really nicely so just adjusting to those changes as they came, that was really good.
00:27 You must be pretty proud, you lost a player, Anna wasn't here so a few plays down?
00:32 Yeah, a few plays down, a few sickies today and a couple of little niggles on court so that always throws a bit of a spanner in the works.
00:39 But as I said, all those girls stepping up did really well and we're very lucky that we've got a very versatile A reserve that can step up when needed.
00:49 Was there anyone who caught your eye or impressed you today?
00:52 I think Maya stepping up into that wing defence was really good, I think our combinations are working really nicely.
01:00 Dan's ball placement into the ring, into the goalies is beautiful in the wing attack there so I think everyone just played their role.
01:08 And you're happy with where you guys are tracking in this part of the season?
01:11 Yeah, I think hopefully we don't get to the last round and have to battle out for fifth spot again
01:17 but I think it's setting up pretty nicely and we'll just keep ticking away and doing the basics well and doing what we do well.
01:25 I know I told you earlier but how is Georgia? Was Georgia the injured or came off sort?
01:30 Yeah, she just had a little niggle in the knee, hopefully she's pretty tough Georgia so it takes a lot to knock her down
01:36 so I'm sure after the bye this week she'll be back fighting for fifth next week.
01:40 Sounds good, thanks for that Bess.
01:42 Alright, thank you.
