00:31Her small children suffered the most from the extreme heat. That's why she hopes that the brownout will not happen again.

00:39They are pitiful when there is no electricity. We, the adults, are able to endure it. But the children...

00:54They are among the two million customers of Miralco affected by the rotational brownout in NCR,

01:00part of Central Luzon and Calabarzon due to the red alert status of the Luzon grid this weekend.

01:06The northern Luzon and Bicol regions were also not safe from the brownout.

01:10Today, under the announcement of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines,

01:14the Luzon grid is again in a yellow alert status from 1 a.m. until 4 p.m.

01:19This will continue from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. This is the result of the low supply of electricity in the Luzon grid.

01:26The rotational brownout is not expected if there is a yellow alert.

01:30But the low supply may return to the red alert if the demand suddenly increases,

01:35even if it is due to the hot weather or there is another power plant.

01:39Miralco has already warned its big customers that it is better to use their own power generator

01:45or green energy source in case of a rise in the red alert status.

01:49As of now, 16 power plants are not operating in Luzon.

01:53According to the DOE, there are also limitations in the plant's outages of electricity.

01:58This is based on a false statement from the Energy Regulatory Commission.

02:02If they violate this, then of course, they have to face the penalties to be imposed by the Energy Regulatory Commission.

02:08But some plants may be able to return this week to strengthen the supply of electricity.

02:14Six plants are still operating but the capacity is reduced.

02:18They are continuing to strive to return to full capacity.

02:21The number of Luzon hydropower plants may increase,

02:24but it is not yet at the level of water to run these plants even if it rains.

02:29The Department of Energy is responsible for using electricity in public

02:36so that we can cash in any available electricity in our grid.

02:41This will not only help our system, but it will also reduce the amount of electricity we pay for our services.
