00:00Rukenian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the Philippines for participating in the Ukraine Peace Summit that will be held on June 15.

00:09In a one-on-one interview with GME Integrated News, he also highlighted the situation in the Philippines in the West Philippine Sea.

00:22The more than two years of war between Ukraine and Russia

00:36has already killed more than 10,000 civilians, almost 600 children, according to the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.

00:46This February, Ukraine said that 31,000 soldiers from their country were killed.

00:53There is no official death toll that Russia is issuing.

00:57And in the middle of the ongoing war, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is praising support for the Ukraine Peace Summit that will be held in Switzerland on June 15.

01:09This is a far cry from the troops of Russia and Ukraine and to return to the former border of Ukraine in 1991.

01:16In Zelensky's visit to the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, he said that more than 100 countries and organizations will support the Peace Summit.

01:25And now, in his visit here to the country, he thanked the Philippines for the agreement signed by Malacanang.

01:33Ukraine's embassy in the Philippines will also open this year.

01:37Zelensky also asked President Marcos to send the Philippines mental health workers to help Ukrainian soldiers.

01:46We are very thankful to be in your country which supports Ukraine, our territorial integrity and sovereignty.

01:55And thank you for your support in the UN Nations with your resolutions.

02:03It is a great pleasure to meet with you to discuss some of the issues that are common to our two countries and hopefully find ways forward for both of us together.

02:16Although Ukraine is in the middle of the war, President Volodymyr Zelensky still deserves to visit our country

02:24because this is how he values the voices of the Philippines and the whole region when it comes to peace and freedom.

02:32Of course, for us it is very important not to give Russia a possibility to influence on Asia.

02:38We are preparing our steps to peace and of course for us it is very important that Philippines really support our territorial integrity and sovereignty.

02:50Now we are starting our peace summit and we are trying to unite all the countries to give strong message from all the world to Russia to stop the war.

02:59You said Russia and China are trying to undermine your peace summit in Switzerland this month.

03:05Do you think Russia and China are afraid that the summit would become such a huge success that it could undermine their global influence and how so?

03:15Yes, because it is a pity that China joined to Russia and now helps them to push the leaders not to participate in the peace summit.

03:28We have been in shock really because we count on all the world.

03:33We are open to every country except an enemy of course, except Russia.

03:39But I think this is a surprise for Russia and their allies that for today we have the confirmation from 107 countries and this is a huge result.

03:50I think that Russia counted that nobody will attend the summit and nobody will participate us.

03:57But you see that really mostly the world on the side of peace.

04:03Just like what he said, in his country what is happening now in the Philippines, China is in the middle of harassing our ships in the West Philippine Sea.

04:11And that's why we have to hold the situation and we have to be together with very strong and clean position that nobody can occupy your territory.

04:21Nobody. If we will stay strong, it means that it will give very important signal to other countries.

04:40A police officer was arrested in Bacolod City after he fired his gun.
