00:00A new program has been launched for Filipinos as long as they have a job and are able to pay their salary.

00:07But what if the government can't pay this?

00:10Here's Tina Pangilinan-Perez's report.

00:16The dream of many Filipinos to have their own house is often hindered by high taxes.

00:23But in 4PH or Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino,

00:27anyone who is able to pay their salary can now have a house.

00:32The program includes the construction of buildings in San Mateo, Rizal

00:36that were inspected by House Speaker Martin Romualdez

00:39along with several congressmen,

00:41executive officials,

00:43and the local government of San Mateo.

00:45GESUD and San Mateo LGU are partners in the project.

00:50There are also other buildings being built in other parts of the country.

00:53To be a beneficiary,

00:55they need to coordinate with the LGU and say their names and jobs.

01:00Even informal settler families or ISF can join.

01:05This is confusing. As long as you have a job, you have a house.

01:08Especially for the ISF, those who don't have a house,

01:12we know that they have no hope of having a house.

01:16They are the number one beneficiary here.

01:18This program is for everyone, for the poor.

01:23It means that everyone is qualified

01:27as long as they have a job because they can pay.

01:30The house is not free.

01:32It will be paid by the beneficiary through a loan from the bank.

01:37What if the income is not enough?

01:40GESUD asked the Congress to pay interest on the loan.

01:45What did the government do?

01:47They increased the payment to make it affordable.

01:50The monthly amortization will be lowered.

01:52If the monthly amortization is lowered,

01:54the poor will be able to pay.

01:56GESUD asked the Congress for 10 billion pesos,

01:59which is enough for 100,000 housing units.

02:02We shall prioritize this so that the housing program

02:06of our President can be supported here in the Legacy Housing Project.

02:10We think that with the 10 billion interest subsidy,

02:15we can set that aside for this particular priority program.

02:20For the program to continue,

02:23even if other administrations,

02:25GESUD wants to have a law for this.
