00:03Personally, I think things like the Pounds Park development are lovely and if we don't need any

00:09more new buildings in the city centre, flatten it and make it a public park space. That would be a

00:13great resource. Can you tell me please what you'd like to see done with the old Debenhams building

00:18here? Probably turn back into another sort of upper class department store. Not upper class,

00:24you know, like John Lewis was. So a higher market? Yeah, yeah, because I think that's

00:31lacking in town and there isn't a decent department store. What do you think on this?

00:37Yeah, I think I'm not convinced because there's ideas like having it as a load of food halls and

00:41things like that. I can't, I'm not sure there's enough market for that because they're spreading

00:46around the centre town. I think probably what we're really missing is something like a department

00:51store like Poles was, like John Lewis. So if I was going to wave a magic wand, I'd have it turned

00:57back into a department store. Could you tell me please what you'd like to see done with the

01:03Debenhams building here? I think it needs something that is going to bridge all people to the high

01:08street. We've got a lot of clothing places down here but not really like, maybe something that

01:15caters more to the men. There's a lot of female clothing stores but not a lot of men's stores.

01:20Maybe a big sports department, something like that. So something retail? Yeah, I would say so

01:26there's a lot of eating places but not a lot of places where people can go and buy

01:30clothing or such, so not that much variety. If you go to places like Leeds they've got more like

01:35higher end kind of like clothing. Sheffield doesn't really have that in the city centre.

01:40That's what we'd like to see here? Yeah, something like that, like flannels, something like that,

01:44something of high end. Can you tell me please what you think should be done with the old

01:49Debenhams building here? I'd like another department store. Would you do, have you used

01:53to go in Debenhams? Yeah, something like Debenhams, it's a shame, Harvey Nicks, something like they've

02:00got in Leeds. So that people like to actually go and have a look in, because it used to be a

02:06really good Debenhams to be honest. Yeah, I think a department store. Until it shut down. Yeah.

02:10What would you like to see doing with the former Debenhams building here in Sheffield City Centre?

02:15Well, it's such a shame that it's, you know, it's been empty for so long, so I think that it would

02:22benefit from some really good quality bars and restaurants, bring more people into this area of

02:28the city centre. You know, it's not bad for buses etc to get here, so public transport is very,

02:39very good. But it wants to be occupied, you know, and updated I think, because it looks quite old

02:47and tired. So yeah, something like that. Could you tell me what you think should be done with

02:55Debenhams, the old department store please? It should be redeveloped in some way, shape or form

03:01for retail. A large department store nowadays has got so many problems competing with the

03:07likes of Amazon. Difficult to know if it would be open as one store, but as a series of stores,

03:14always possible. I always think that Sheffield City Centre struggles

03:17competing with Medevil, but that type of idea in there is a possibility.
