Earth Opera - album Earth Opera 1968 (2001)

  • 3 mesi fa
Earth Opera was part of the late sixties psychedelic Boston movement that featured bands like Ultimate Spinach, Orpheus and Beacon Street Union. Earth Opera played a particular kind of psychedelia, with constant time changes, complex melodies and full sounding arrangement, who's dreamy folk background was punctuated by exotic instrumentation as contrasts. The two leaders of the band were Peter Rowan and David Grisman both well konwn for their bluegrass and country folk career, who injected in the sound a mix of psychedelic pop, rock, folk, jazz, some classical, and of course some country and bluesgrass, as well as Indo-raga elements.

Peter Rowan - guitar, vocals.
David Grisman - mandolin, mandocello, vocals.
Bill Stevenson - piano, organ, vibes, harpsichord.
John Nagy - bass.
Billy Mundi, Warren Smith - drums, percussion.
Paul Dillon - drums, vocals.

The Red Sox are winning.
As it is before.
Dreamless.
To care at all.
Home of the brave.
The child bride.
Close you eyes and shut the door.
Time and again.
Whe you were full of wonder.
Death by fire.
