00:00Hi there, obviously you've just arrived from Dallas and you'd have seen the game
00:06the two games here probably footage of it probably quite different conditions
00:11that you'd have seen in Dallas I guess how is that going to affect your the way
00:14you prepare to play against Ireland? Yes exactly the conditions are different
00:23especially the drop-in we've been prepared for it we know we had the
00:28experience for the drop-ins in Global T20 it's a local league so we were
00:33expecting that but I think the practice area wickets are quite similar to these
00:39so we are kind of getting more time betting there and trying to execute
00:44tomorrow. And so you have practiced that at the park have you nearby? Yes yes the
00:50practice area wickets are also drop-ins so it's kind of a similar you can say
00:56the wickets in the center and that's where we are trying to kind of get used
01:02to the conditions. Yeah because I mean obviously I'm guessing that all the
01:06teams are thinking you win the toss and bowl and you just try and do as much
01:09damage as you can. Yeah it's always safer you know bowling first you know the
01:15target if if the other team doesn't score too much so you can just play a
01:19normal cricket and kind of chase it so it's always kind of a benefit to bowl
01:23first. And sorry if you could please state your name and affiliation before
01:27asking a question that'd be much appreciated. That was James Cohen from the
01:29cricketer sorry about that. Thanks. Peter Nelapanda with Dream Cricket what's the
01:35biggest adjustment that you have to make whether skill-wise mentally coming from
01:43Dallas to play in this facility that you've obviously not played imagined
01:47before? I think that Dallas wicket is quite flat it's a betting paradise you
01:52can say you can swing through the line this wicket is bit kind of what you can
01:59say a tricky one so you cannot play some of the t20 shots you can say so you have
02:05to play a conventional cricket and and and what I see it's playing on the up
02:12it's little bit difficult than Dallas. Difficult in what way specifically? It's
02:21a lot of lateral movement so there's a lot of swing comparatively to Dallas so
02:26if you kind of want to basically hit the good length balls it's a bit difficult.
02:36This is Siddharth from Crickinfo. Why do you think these pitchers are doing
02:42doing what they're doing are they under prepared or haven't have they not
02:46bedded in? See drop-in wickets it takes time to settle it down I think normally
02:53it takes around a year or so but that's what it's not ideally it's I think it's
03:02a bit early but still still it's a challenge correct like the par for
03:08Dallas is what 180-190 and par for here is 120-130 it's it's a different
03:15wicket and a different kind of a competition you can say it's it's
03:19exciting basically. You just said it's exciting you have you must have friends
03:24in Canada who are not cricket fans if you were to if you were to bring them to
03:30this to cricket through this these kind of games would they be excited? I think
03:36it's it's always not about just runs so we have to agree that there are bowlers
03:44in the teams too so some wickets will benefit batsmen and some will benefit
03:48bowlers so this is a some a wicket which is bowler friendly so you have to play
03:53accordingly you have to adjust.
03:58Anyone else?
04:02That concludes.
04:06Just coming off the USA game seeing what happened to Ireland today you
04:15know it's a must-win game for both teams you're both coming in with a loss for
04:19the next match are you in desperation mode right now or are you thinking
04:27that far ahead in terms of the equation to try and finish in the top two to get
04:32to the Super 8? I think right now we're just focusing on the Ireland game I
04:37think that's the priority for us we all sit together and basically saw the game
04:45how the wicket is behaving and our full focus is on the Ireland game we are not
04:51thinking anything beyond that right now.
04:56Is that everyone? Just thinking back to the qualifier in 2019 I know it's five
05:02years ago now but you've got a win over Ireland in this format some of the
05:07squads have changed a little bit Nitish Kumar was player of the match today he's
05:10obviously with USA now but you have some familiarity with the Irish players how
05:15much stock do you still put into that victory from five years ago in terms of
05:20maintaining a certain level of confidence or belief that you still got a
05:25core group of players who were there that day in 2019 in the UAE to feel like
05:30you've got a genuine chance to beat them again? I think yeah last time we played
05:36in 2019 and we able to surprise them that time and we are hoping we can do
05:44this again especially with the few more players who are kind of senior players
05:53like especially like Cleem Sana, Aaron Johnson so it's kind of add value to the
05:58team so we are hoping we can surprise them again. Thanks so much for attending
06:05the press conference
