00:00 Neoplan's company launched NeopX, a bioengineered plant able to purify injured air at unprecedented
00:08 scale. So far it's just in the US market, but in the near future the company is planning to
00:13 expand to Europe. Let's see photo details. NeopX plants belong to the Queen Marva variety,
00:21 so they are regular photo plants, which can be done in sleek pots. Its uniqueness lies in
00:26 bioengineered microorganisms, alias power drops, that capture, transform and recycle harmful indoor
00:33 pollutants into useful matter. CEO of Neoplan's company Lionel Mora further explained their benefits.
00:41 So Neoplan's is the first company in the world to build bioengineered plant microbiome systems able
00:47 to purify the air in your home. So our first product, NeopX, is equivalent to up to 30 regular houseplants
00:54 in terms of air purification. And you can put it in your home and it will not only capture, but also
01:00 remove and recycle some of the most harmful pollutants you can find indoors.
01:05 Right after NeopX's launch, different criteria arose on the internet regarding its expensive price
01:13 and effectiveness, in addition to sharing experience on keeping alive the plant.
01:18 Let us listen to a few of them.
01:22 Because I'm not sure your pricing makes that practical at all, at all. It's like hundreds of
01:28 dollars for that, for one room. Also as well, just looking at one of these tables showing that
01:34 effectiveness, I actually think it's really sus that you are taking plants here that have so little
01:40 output on purification.
01:41 Patrick Torby, co-founder of Neoplan's startup, delved into how PX plant works. In addition, he
01:49 points out that the company knuckles down to diffuse global warming by green projects like this one.
01:55 The bacteria and cells will absorb volatile organic compounds using benzene, for example,
02:02 as a source of carbon to grow and reproduce quite simply. The plant is there to create this ecosystem,
02:08 this ecological nature for the bacteria. So we have a system of symbiosis between plants
02:13 and bacteria, which means that the bacteria are happy and able to absorb this air pollutants.
02:20 With a standing high positive impact on the environment, the US is so far the only market
02:26 target for Neoplan's. The company is planning to expand to Europe, including France, in a year.
02:32 Hence, it still has a long way to go to make a real difference, as new PX is needed in the
02:37 rest of the world as well.
02:38 We have started marketing in the United States because it is a bigger, more major market and
02:45 about our regulation is much simpler and more scientific. We know exactly how to respond to
02:50 regulators and what they expect. We are very transparent with them. Whereas in Europe and
02:56 France, it is a little more complicated to work with regulators who are a little less scientific,
03:01 a little more political. So the processes take a little longer. We are in the process of starting
03:06 them in France and later in Europe. We hope to be able to sell our products here as early as
03:12 next year. Nowadays, humanity faces growing wildfires, droughts and floods every day. So
03:21 Neo PX plant turns out to be an innovative solution, which comes at the right time. However,
03:27 economic profits and bureaucracy stand in the way of expansion to other bigger polluters,
03:33 countries as Bangladesh, Ghana, Mexico, just to mention some.
03:39 just to mention some.
