00:01 Most of my life has been about trying
00:04 to rationalize how these kind of magical things
00:07 could exist in today's world.
00:09 You can feel that in the movies, this sense of, like,
00:13 they could exist.
00:14 And that can be a very uncomfortable feeling.
00:17 It's so deep and rich and rings so true
00:20 because it's based on Irish folklore.
00:22 So it wasn't something that we made up.
00:24 Many, many, many, many generations
00:25 have been talking about these stories.
00:27 And you can feel the depth of it.
00:28 And I really wanted to play with fantasy and horror,
00:31 this idea of figuring out what these creatures are.
00:36 There's something out there!
00:37 We've taken a creature from folklore
00:39 and just made it the horrific entity of the story.
00:43 They were once something to behold and be in awe of.
00:46 But now they're absolutely frightening.
00:49 These are creatures that no one has seen.
00:51 And they don't really even know what they look like
00:53 or what they're capable of.
00:54 And there's sort of a lot of unanswered questions.
00:56 There's a fear and a danger that's palpable.
00:59 These old stories are so ingrained in us.
01:01 I'm sure there's a reason why they've
01:03 survived all these centuries.
01:04 There might be some little grain of truth that's kept it alive.
01:06 Like, oh my god, he might be real.
01:09 Oh, my god.
01:11 I see you, Mina.
