Sir Keir Starmer has promised there will be "no tax surprises" ahead of the launch of the Labour party's manifesto this Thursday. "There will be no tax surprises in there, we're not going to increase tax on working people and that means no increases on income tax, national insurance or VAT," he said.

00:00 We're going to launch our manifesto later this week. There'll be no tax surprises in there.
00:05 We're not going to increase tax on working people and that means no increases in income tax,
00:10 in national insurance and VAT. And all of our plans are, as I say, fully costed, fully funded.
00:17 And they don't require tax rises over and above those that we've already set out.
00:22 So there won't be any surprises when the manifesto is unveiled on Thursday.
