00:00 Members of the Gaza Free Circus Center are drive at shelter centers in central and southern Gaza on a mission of joy.
00:06 They provide entertainment for displaced children with the aim of alleviating the psychological stresses brought on since the outbreak of the Israeli Hamas war.
00:15 Palestinian children are enduring harsh conditions following months of bombing and destruction that haunt them as they move from one displacement camp to another.
00:25 The Gaza Free Circus Center presents acrobatic performances. According to the troupe's founder, Mohamed Khadr, treating children's post-traumatic stress disorder is one of the most important goals.
00:38 Our goal is to alleviate the stress and trauma of children. We want to give them joy and smile. We want to bring joy to their lives.
01:02 Dozens of displaced Palestinian children gather to watch, if only for a little time, to get away from the tragic reality they have been living since the beginning of the war.
01:12 Baraa Bakr, one of the displaced children, spends most of his time in a tent with his family. They have moved more than four times. Bakr loves to watch the performances.
01:23 We were in the tent and we heard music and circus. We saw games and a show. I brought my brothers and we played and had fun. We hope this will be repeated after the negative things we have seen in our lives during the war.
01:41 Yousef Khadr is a clown. He paints his face with colors and wears costumes and spreads joy with his acrobatic movements. He says they are trying to reduce the psychological impact on the children.
01:54 Our goal is to bring peace to the children and to forget the stress and pressure they have been through. We want to bring them a picture of the destruction and bloodshed in Gaza.
02:19 The Gaza Free Circus Center was started in 2018 with weekly shows. It also has a program to train hundreds of Palestinian children in circus skills.
02:29 With the beginning of the war, many clowns were displaced from their homes in northern Gaza to the southern Gaza. Nevertheless, they continue their mission to make children happy and weave threads of hope, love and joy.
