00:02:19 Good evening ladies and gentlemen.
00:02:21 We welcome you to the reading of the English novel "Ants"
00:02:25 by a promising upcoming author, Mr. Shravan Vasudev.
00:02:29 And to read the novel for you, we have none other than Shravan himself.
00:02:34 Papa!
00:02:35 This is Shravan Vasudev's first book, but we hope certainly not the last.
00:02:40 So ladies and gentlemen, here we present
00:02:43 the first personal reading of "Ants" by Shravan Vasudev.
00:02:47 [applause]
00:02:52 Namaskar.
00:02:54 Good evening ladies and gentlemen.
00:02:58 I am honored to have you all for the reading session of my book.
00:03:03 "Ants"
00:03:07 "Ants" is the story of relationships.
00:03:11 But are not all stories about relationships?
00:03:16 Then what's new about ants?
00:03:19 Perhaps nothing.
00:03:23 Or maybe there is something different.
00:03:28 But which relationship am I exactly talking about?
00:03:34 Is it a relationship between a man and a woman?
00:03:38 Or between two friends?
00:03:41 Or maybe just about two acquaintances?
00:03:46 Or a relationship of ants?
00:03:51 A relation, a bond that ants share.
00:03:58 Have you noticed?
00:04:01 My story is not about fictitious characters or imaginary relationships.
00:04:06 It's about experiences, moments and feelings I have been through.
00:04:12 Oh no!
00:04:14 We have been through.
00:04:17 How could I forget her?
00:04:20 The one who made me write this?
00:04:24 No.
00:04:26 I cannot forget her.
00:04:29 Is she?
00:04:32 No, I don't think so.
00:04:35 Neither of us could forget each other.
00:04:38 I had all the happiness in the world an ordinary man lives for.
00:04:46 A good wife, a lovely daughter and a comfortable job.
00:04:52 Comfortable in the sense that it gave me enough to suffice my needs.
00:04:57 I was living in Chandigarh.
00:05:00 A city I have always lived in.
00:05:03 Chandigarh, the city of my dreams.
00:05:08 The fun, the frolic of my city, Chandigarh.
00:05:14 Suddenly one day I got my transfer orders to Pauri Garhwal in remote Uttaranchal.
00:05:20 It came as a rude shock.
00:05:23 But I didn't take time to realize that I was being unduly posted out to accommodate a particular person
00:05:29 who was influential and related to a minister.
00:05:34 I was not against going out, but not now.
00:05:38 Everything was going on so smooth.
00:05:42 I must not let this happen.
00:05:45 Disgusting, I thought to myself and decided to stop it at any cost.
00:05:51 Any.
00:05:53 And thus began my ordeal.
00:05:58 I had been to Delhi innumerable times.
00:06:06 And every time I felt being lost in the crowd.
00:06:09 My identity being lost.
00:06:12 I wonder why everyone around me moved in the same direction, at the same time, yet to different destinations.
00:06:20 So many people together, but none of them along each other.
00:06:27 Each one had a different life to live, different story to tell, and different situations to deal with.
00:06:36 I made several visits to my head office in Delhi to get my transfer orders reverted.
00:06:44 It was one of those visits.
00:06:52 That day too, I felt like being lost in the crowd.
00:07:00 I was a part of the crowd, yet a nobody.
00:07:05 I had to go back to Pauri.
00:07:07 Oh no, to Devpriya, with her.
00:07:12 She was helping me in my transfer case.
00:07:16 My friend Sharma, who is actually the big boss PA, had assured me that he'll get my posting cancelled.
00:07:23 I'll get your posting cancelled.
00:07:25 I don't want it to be cancelled, Sharmaji.
00:07:27 I want it back to Chandigarh.
00:07:30 Oh yes, yes. You will go back to Chandigarh.
00:07:32 I have already fixed your appointment with the big boss.
00:07:35 Oh really? At what time?
00:07:36 Not here, buddy. He's out of station. To Devpriya.
00:07:39 Oh, to Devpriya. But why there?
00:07:42 Come on, yaar. Don't be scared. It's a very personal meeting.
00:07:47 Oh, personal. That's okay. But can't it be here?
00:07:51 Come on, Vasudev. Try to understand.
00:07:54 Loosen your pocket and shell out something.
00:07:57 How much?
00:07:58 Five thousand.
00:07:59 Five thousand?
00:08:00 I'll get a gift for the big boss. On your behalf, of course.
00:08:04 Oh, gift. Have you decided what should I gift him?
00:08:09 Our boss likes only one gift.
00:08:12 What?
00:08:14 What else, yaar? Our boss is a jolly young man who enjoys life.
00:08:18 He likes the variety, especially when he's on the tours.
00:08:21 He enjoys the company of young and beautiful women.
00:08:24 You know, just for the change of taste.
00:08:26 You mean, I should take a girl for him?
00:08:30 How can I, yaar?
00:08:32 Come on, yaar. Don't think so much.
00:08:34 Come at six o'clock in the evening. I will bring her.
00:08:37 Sharmaji, what do you mean?
00:08:38 You want your post-in-law rate back?
00:08:40 Yes.
00:08:42 Then do what I say. That's the only way to please the boss.
00:08:46 Get the dame without shame. Leave the rest and what follows will be the best.
00:08:52 Okay.
00:08:55 Okay.
00:08:59 Okay, then. See you in the evening.
00:09:01 Okay.
00:09:03 Oh, yaar.
00:09:04 Don't let the boss know that she's a call girl.
00:09:07 You know, he likes that homely types.
00:09:09 Tell him that she's your cousin.
00:09:11 What?
00:09:12 Just like that. Just for the heck of it, yaar.
00:09:16 All Indians are my brothers and sisters.
00:09:19 But that is...
00:09:20 Yaar, how can I do it, yaar?
00:09:22 Sharmaji, yaar.
00:09:23 Oh, yaar. You are the limit.
00:09:25 Did I say that she's actually your cousin?
00:09:27 Then everybody has to do a favor to get one in return.
00:09:30 Okay, tell me. Who wants the order back?
00:09:32 You or me?
00:09:34 Am I under obligation?
00:09:36 Okay, do whatever you want. I cannot help it.
00:09:40 Okay, I'll come at 6.
00:09:42 Okay, your work is...
00:09:44 It was around 6 in the evening.
00:09:50 The crowd and the traffic was on the peak.
00:09:53 I had butterflies in my stomach.
00:09:56 I don't know who she is.
00:09:58 Sharma said she's a... she's a call girl.
00:10:03 And I have to travel with her?
00:10:07 How am I concerned?
00:10:09 It is between them.
00:10:11 It will be anyway over till tomorrow.
00:10:16 We'll reach there by then.
00:10:18 But I kept wondering who she was.
00:10:21 What if my wife comes to know?
00:10:24 What if my wife comes to know?
00:10:27 So, here she is.
00:10:48 Seems to be from a good family.
00:10:51 How can be...
00:10:53 She doesn't look like one.
00:10:56 I can hardly believe.
00:10:59 Oh, that's why Sharma got her.
00:11:03 Big boss likes homely girls, huh?
00:11:07 5000 seems reasonable.
00:11:11 Or is it a bit too much?
00:11:15 Who knows?
00:11:17 But how does Sharma know about her?
00:11:20 Where did he get her from?
00:11:22 This Sharma is...
00:11:24 Hi there.
00:11:26 This man is going with you.
00:11:30 It's okay then.
00:11:32 Everything is fine.
00:11:34 Okay?
00:11:36 Let's go.
00:11:44 [Clock ticking]
00:11:46 [Phone ringing]
00:11:50 Your work is done.
00:11:58 [Phone ringing]
00:12:03 [Indistinct chatter]
00:12:09 [Indistinct chatter]
00:12:11 She has not spoken a word.
00:12:37 That is better anyway.
00:12:39 Who knows, she may even charge for that.
00:12:43 There are so many passengers.
00:12:46 All strangers.
00:12:48 No one knows each other's identity.
00:12:51 I often ponder over this thought.
00:12:53 We see hundreds of people every day.
00:12:56 Perfect strangers.
00:12:58 Till we meet, we don't know their names,
00:13:01 their addresses,
00:13:03 caste, occupation,
00:13:05 their grief, joys.
00:13:08 So many life stories.
00:13:11 Each one equally difficult and complicated.
00:13:15 How many of these are going to Devprayag
00:13:18 to get cancelled their transfer orders?
00:13:21 None perhaps.
00:13:24 That's only...
00:13:26 I am supposed to suffer.
00:13:29 [Chanting]
00:13:34 [Chanting]
00:13:40 No.
00:13:41 Sir, take four out of ten.
00:13:43 I don't want it.
00:13:45 Okay, take five out of ten.
00:13:47 I have given you the full amount.
00:13:49 Five for ten rupees.
00:13:51 The whole amount is a bit old.
00:13:53 So what?
00:13:54 The whole amount is the masala.
00:13:56 It will be a long journey.
00:13:58 [Chanting]
00:14:03 [Chanting]
00:14:08 [Chanting]

00:14:43 Where are you going?
00:14:45 Oh, yes.
00:14:48 Devprayag one.
00:14:51 No, two Devprayag.
00:14:53 Four hundred and fifteen rupees only.

00:15:31 [Phone ringing]
00:15:53 [Music]
00:16:21 Good, good.
00:16:22 You better not speak.
00:16:24 Better still if you don't open your mouth up to Devprayag.
00:16:29 But why is she so quiet?
00:16:33 I didn't even ask Sharma about her.
00:16:37 What I will do if she asks for more money?
00:16:41 [Chanting]
00:16:50 [Chanting]
00:17:02 Ouch!
00:17:03 Oh, sorry ma'am.
00:17:05 I'm sorry.
00:17:07 My mistake.

00:18:45 Sir?
00:18:46 There is no future for this country.
00:18:49 Every second day there is a scan, other scandals.
00:18:53 What is being done?
00:18:56 The government sets up an inquiry commission and forget about it.
00:19:00 As do people of India.
00:19:02 These inquiry commissions take years.
00:19:06 Who has the time and memory to keep track of all of these?
00:19:10 True, very true.
00:19:11 Actually we have lost our national character.
00:19:13 Then this corruption, nepotism, it has led us nowhere.
00:19:17 Pick up any newspaper, its own story.
00:19:19 Latest scams are coming out every day.
00:19:22 First instances of corruption.
00:19:24 Every leader and every party has its own Pandora's box.
00:19:29 Yes, if this keeps going...
00:19:31 Saharanpur, Saharanpur, Saharanpur.
00:19:33 Oh, that bus is leaving for Saharanpur.

00:22:57 What do you mean?
00:23:00 We get full coconuts. Not in pieces, you know.
00:23:03 Full of water and very tasty.
00:23:06 Where do you stay?
00:23:09 I am from...Mombay.
00:23:12 Bombay?
00:23:15 Really?

00:23:26 There is a seashore too.
00:23:29 Oh yeah. It has a beautiful seashore.
00:23:32 Rather our house is very near to the seashore.
00:23:35 [Speaking in foreign language]
00:23:38 Keep quiet, son. Keep quiet.
00:23:41 All actors live in Bombay, you know.
00:23:44 Yeah. Lots of them. Rather all of them.
00:23:47 Have you met any of them?
00:23:50 Oh yes, I have met many of them.
00:23:53 You know Dharmendra?
00:23:55 Punjabi from Spanjwal.
00:23:58 He also stays in our building.
00:24:01 Oh really? Then Sonny must be there to guard us, Sonny.
00:24:04 And what about Bichchu?
00:24:07 Bichchu?
00:24:10 No, don't worry. Bobby Bichchu. He is so cute.
00:24:13 Yeah? He also stays there.
00:24:16 Papa, they live in Juhu, not in Ghatkopar.
00:24:19 Oh, you don't know.
00:24:22 How would you know?
00:24:24 Our building is so big, you know.
00:24:27 [Speaking in foreign language]
00:24:30 Oh, your son doesn't know about the city.
00:24:33 Improve his general knowledge.
00:24:36 General knowledge?

00:25:00 And whenever I pass through his house, he calls me.
00:25:03 Yeah, yeah. He must be feeling good to have you around.
00:25:06 Oh, certainly. When he calls me, I am full of lassi.
00:25:09 Punjabi lassi, you know.
00:25:12 It's so tempting. I just cannot refuse.

00:25:24 Hrithik. Yeah, several times.
00:25:27 Now he has become a big star.
00:25:30 Let me tell you, I have known him for ages.
00:25:33 Since his childhood.
00:25:36 Yeah. You know.
00:25:39 He respects me a lot, you know.
00:25:42 Actually, he likes all the fritters made by your auntie.
00:25:45 Auntie?
00:25:48 Papa, Hrithik Roshan?
00:25:50 The one with the cute face?
00:25:53 Tell him, tell him.
00:25:56 Mummy, does Hrithik Roshan eat fritters too?
00:25:59 How would I know?
00:26:02 Tell me, does Hrithik Roshan eat fritters?
00:26:05 I think he does.
00:26:08 I'll fetch some fresh water.
00:26:11 There is no need for water.
00:26:14 Sister has already filled the filter.
00:26:17 Surjani, go and fill the water.
00:26:19 Yes, yes.
00:26:21 [music]
00:26:23 [music]
00:26:25 [music]
00:26:27 [music]

00:26:36 (upbeat music)
00:26:39 - Can I take a picture?
00:27:03 - Okay.
00:27:04 - So, where are you going?
00:27:06 - Rishikesh.
00:27:07 - Oh, really?
00:27:08 I'm also going to Rishikesh.
00:27:09 - (laughs)
00:27:11 - I stay there.
00:27:12 You?
00:27:13 - I stay at Munikreti, near Ram Jhula.
00:27:15 - Oh, I have been there many times.
00:27:18 - (speaks in foreign language)
00:27:19 - Sarampur.
00:27:20 Oh, sorry, Rishikesh.
00:27:22 Actually, I have stayed in Sarampur also.
00:27:25 (people chattering)
00:27:30 I think I am getting late.
00:27:33 And I am feeling sleepy.
00:27:36 - Hmm.
00:27:37 Oh, yes.
00:27:39 Please take care of your pockets.
00:27:42 If pockets move, help freely.
00:27:44 - Not bothered.
00:27:45 I hardly have anything.
00:27:46 - Hmm, that's fine.
00:27:47 (people chattering)
00:27:50 - Waheguru.
00:28:01 So many stories, so many different episodes.
00:28:05 The bus was finally ready to start,
00:28:08 and so began my journey to Devpriag.
00:28:11 But this lady, she doesn't speak at all.
00:28:17 She doesn't even open her eyes.
00:28:20 Maybe I thought that these girls
00:28:25 have a different world of their own.

00:30:58 - Okay.
00:30:59 - I think I have seen you before.
00:31:01 - Me?
00:31:02 Is it so?
00:31:04 - Perhaps on TV, yes, on TV, in Krishnadasan program.
00:31:09 Did you do that program?
00:31:13 - Yeah, Krishnadasan, Krishnadasan, yes, yes.
00:31:16 - Really?
00:31:17 You come on TV?
00:31:19 - Yeah.
00:31:21 - You see, I guessed it right.
00:31:22 I have indeed seen him, I remember it.
00:31:25 (woman speaking in foreign language)
00:31:26 - You had gone to your auntie.
00:31:28 (woman speaking in foreign language)
00:31:33 (woman speaking in foreign language)
00:31:38 (woman speaking in foreign language)

00:32:09 (woman speaking in foreign language)
00:32:09 (man speaking in foreign language)
00:32:10 (woman speaking in foreign language)
00:32:11 (man speaking in foreign language)
00:32:12 (woman speaking in foreign language)
00:32:17 - Is Saturn troubling you?
00:32:20 - Huh?
00:32:21 Huh?
00:32:22 - Is Saturn troubling you, Shani?
00:32:24 - Yeah, but how did you know?
00:32:30 - You're wearing this.
00:32:31 - Oh, I never thought about this.
00:32:36 I am wearing it for a long time.
00:32:38 - You're an Aquarian, no?
00:32:39 - Yeah.
00:32:41 - You better take it off.
00:32:42 - How did you know my Zodiac sign
00:32:44 and why I was wearing this?
00:32:46 - I too am an Aquarian.
00:32:48 - Oh, you mean--
00:32:49 - I too wore this.
00:32:51 I got it made from a horse's shoenail.
00:32:53 And you?
00:32:54 - From a boat's nail.
00:32:57 - Fate nailed us from all sides.
00:33:01 And we tried to pull out by making rings of nails
00:33:05 and wearing them.
00:33:06 I mean, I did.
00:33:08 - No, no, no, you're right.
00:33:11 So have I.
00:33:12 We both have tried to do the same.
00:33:15 - By the way, did that make any difference?
00:33:19 - I could not answer her question.
00:33:21 I had been dreaming of success all these years.
00:33:24 Tried over and over.
00:33:26 And failed innumerable times.
00:33:29 No.
00:33:33 - Then, take it off.
00:33:34 (mysterious music)
00:33:37 - And I really took off the ring.
00:33:53 I had been wearing it for so many years.
00:33:56 I didn't even remember how my middle finger looked without it
00:34:01 and I took it off just because a girl asked me to do so.
00:34:06 A girl who is not less than a commodity.
00:34:11 - Do you stay in Delhi?
00:34:12 - No, I had come here to get my transfer orders canceled.
00:34:16 - You got it?
00:34:17 - No, not yet.
00:34:19 But I'll get it done very soon.
00:34:22 - Oh.
00:34:23 - Do you stay in Delhi?
00:34:26 - No, Faridabad.
00:34:27 But my mother stays in Chandigarh.
00:34:30 - What?
00:34:32 - Yes.
00:34:33 - I do live in Chandigarh.
00:34:34 I mean, before I got posted to Porygarh.
00:34:37 That is my hometown.
00:34:38 - Oh.
00:34:39 - Where do you stay in Chandigarh?
00:34:42 - I stay in sector 20.
00:34:47 - And I stay in sector 45.
00:34:49 - I see.
00:34:50 - But how come you are here in Faridabad?
00:34:54 - I'm married in Faridabad.
00:34:56 - What?
00:34:57 You are married?
00:34:58 - Yeah.
00:34:59 - So your husband...
00:35:01 - Oh, who drinking cigarette there?
00:35:09 On talking not?
00:35:13 (speaking in foreign language)
00:35:18 (speaking in foreign language)
00:35:22 (singing in foreign language)
00:35:33 - Not worry.
00:35:35 (speaking in foreign language)
00:35:40 Don't smoke.
00:35:41 (speaking in foreign language)
00:35:48 (singing in foreign language)
00:35:52 - This girl is married and a call girl.
00:36:12 How's that possible?
00:36:16 - Does her husband know about it?
00:36:19 No, no, no, I don't think so.
00:36:21 No husband on earth would ever tolerate that.
00:36:24 Or maybe she's bluffing him.
00:36:27 She looks quite simple, though.
00:36:30 She's not an ordinary girl.
00:36:34 I guess she has a volcano inside.
00:36:38 What is she?
00:36:39 A mystery.
00:36:40 - How long did you wear it?
00:36:45 - I can't remember how my finger looked without it.
00:36:48 For so long.
00:36:50 - And do you remember your life without the hardships?
00:36:54 Saturn has been very harsh and ruthless on Aquarians.
00:36:59 If this ring has helped in any way,
00:37:01 I wonder what would be without it.
00:37:04 It's frightening.
00:37:07 I wonder if these things really help
00:37:10 or if it really makes a difference.
00:37:14 Because what I have gone through.
00:37:15 - What have you gone through?
00:37:19 I mean, has something terrible happened to you?
00:37:21 - Why do you want to know?
00:37:23 - I'm sorry, I just wanted--
00:37:26 - Why hasn't anyone else asked it to me earlier?
00:37:28 Only Saturn.
00:37:30 This ruthless Shani.
00:37:33 What has it not done to me?
00:37:36 Taken me places.
00:37:37 Chandigarh to Canada, Canada to Faridabad.
00:37:42 And now, all these places without destinations.
00:37:47 - Canada?
00:37:49 - Yes, Canada.
00:37:51 I was married in Canada.
00:37:52 Who didn't know what I was going through?
00:37:56 Everyone.
00:37:57 Everyone knew I had problems getting along
00:38:00 with those people.
00:38:01 But no one tried to pull me out of the hell I lived in.
00:38:06 Instead, I was asked to carry on, pull along.
00:38:11 Because they were my family, my relatives.
00:38:14 That's my home.
00:38:16 You know these Indian parents.
00:38:19 - Yes, but every parent wants that their daughter
00:38:22 should settle well in her home, one of her own.
00:38:25 - One of my own.
00:38:27 That's only what I had thought.
00:38:29 How much I longed for it.
00:38:32 It was a cherished dream.
00:38:34 When I first saw my husband,
00:38:38 I thought my dreams were being fulfilled.
00:38:41 He had come all the way from Canada to get married
00:38:45 because he wanted an Indian wife,
00:38:47 a Desi Hindustani bride.
00:38:50 Though he had come all the way from Canada.
00:38:54 (singing in foreign language)
00:39:11 - Ma'am, we like your daughter.
00:39:13 (speaking in foreign language)
00:39:17 (upbeat music)
00:39:38 (saxophone music)
00:39:41 - A house echoed with joy and laughter.
00:39:51 Everyone seemed happy.
00:39:52 I was getting married to an NRI, to the man of my dreams.
00:39:58 I was going to Canada very soon.
00:40:01 It was literally like walking on the clouds.
00:40:07 (upbeat music)
00:40:10 (saxophone music)
00:40:13 (upbeat music)
00:40:16 (saxophone music)
00:40:19 (upbeat music)
00:40:21 (upbeat music)
00:40:24 (upbeat music)
00:40:26 (upbeat music)
00:40:29 (upbeat music)
00:40:32 (upbeat music)
00:40:42 (upbeat music)
00:40:52 (upbeat music)
00:40:55 (upbeat music)
00:41:24 My parents' joy knew no bounds.
00:41:26 After all, their daughter was married to an NRI.
00:41:29 Now they could walk proudly with their heads raised.
00:41:39 It was a great fact for them
00:41:42 that their daughter stayed in Canada.
00:41:44 My father had spent more than he could afford.
00:41:49 Just to match the NRI status of his son-in-law,
00:41:53 he had to mortgage his shop to take a loan.
00:41:56 (speaking in foreign language)
00:42:03 (singing in foreign language)
00:42:09 (singing in foreign language)
00:42:13 As I walked around the sacred fire with him,
00:42:36 I felt every step getting closer to him,
00:42:39 to my dream.
00:42:41 I was walking on the clouds,
00:42:49 which would fly with me across the seven seas.
00:42:52 (speaking in foreign language)
00:42:59 (speaking in foreign language)
00:43:03 Would you have dinner?
00:43:11 I'd like to have tea.
00:43:29 (speaking in foreign language)
00:43:33 Give me two cups, tea.
00:43:34 No, give me indisposable glasses.
00:43:40 (speaking in foreign language)
00:43:44 Thank you.
00:43:56 (speaking in foreign language)
00:44:00 (speaking in foreign language)
00:44:04 (speaking in foreign language)
00:44:09 (speaking in foreign language)
00:44:13 (speaking in foreign language)
00:44:23 (snoring)
00:44:26 (snoring)
00:44:28 Shame on you!
00:44:46 I'm of your daughter's age.
00:44:48 Look at this shameless creature.
00:44:51 He's teasing me right from the time I took this seat.
00:44:54 Look, he's cool, as if nothing has happened.
00:44:57 Shameless creature.
00:44:59 Why don't you just throw him out of the window?
00:45:01 What are you waiting for?
00:45:04 I'm sorry, these men, they're all the same.
00:45:16 Never mind.
00:45:18 He has forgotten that he is quite older to her.
00:45:22 (sad music)
00:45:25 But he deserves to be thrown out.
00:45:26 (speaking in foreign language)
00:45:36 (speaking in foreign language)
00:45:40 (speaking in foreign language)
00:46:06 (speaking in foreign language)
00:46:10 (sad music)
00:46:20 (speaking in foreign language)
00:46:32 (speaking in foreign language)
00:46:35 (speaking in foreign language)
00:47:00 (car engine roaring)
00:47:03 The girl was really strange.
00:47:13 How she reacted.
00:47:14 I had strange feelings.
00:47:17 I didn't know her.
00:47:20 We had never seen or met each other.
00:47:21 But the way she confessed to me,
00:47:24 why did she tell me all that?
00:47:29 I bothered you unnecessarily.
00:47:31 I told you so much about myself,
00:47:35 though it was none of your business.
00:47:37 You know, no one in my family has ever tried to ask me.
00:47:42 They have no idea what I have gone through,
00:47:45 because no one wants to know.
00:47:47 No one seems to be bothered.
00:47:50 - What happened next?
00:47:53 - Once I reached Canada,
00:47:55 my dream got literally shattered into pieces.
00:47:59 It was a different world.
00:48:00 I reached Canada with an unknown fear.
00:48:04 But as I entered my home,
00:48:07 it seemed like a dream come true.
00:48:10 The thought that it was exclusively mine
00:48:13 overwhelmed me for some time.
00:48:15 - This is yours.
00:48:23 (upbeat music)
00:48:26 (upbeat music continues)
00:48:29 (upbeat music continues)
00:48:33 (upbeat music continues)
00:48:36 (upbeat music continues)
00:49:05 - So this is my home, just mine.
00:49:08 I touched each and everything to feel it belonged to me.
00:49:15 I've come where I belong to.
00:49:18 My home.
00:49:22 We are going to stay together forever.
00:49:26 (upbeat music)
00:49:29 (upbeat music continues)
00:49:32 (upbeat music continues)
00:49:41 (upbeat music continues)
00:49:47 (upbeat music continues)
00:49:56 (upbeat music continues)
00:49:59 (upbeat music continues)
00:50:04 (upbeat music continues)
00:50:07 (upbeat music continues)
00:50:23 (upbeat music continues)
00:50:27 - His gestures were very inhuman.
00:50:53 But I somehow tolerated him
00:50:55 because I had a home, a beautiful home.
00:51:00 And I was supposed to live with him in it.
00:51:03 And one day, my parents-in-law joined us.
00:51:12 - Mommy and Daddy are going to stay here.
00:51:16 We only have to take care of them and make them happy.
00:51:21 - Of course, that's my pleasure.
00:51:23 (upbeat music)
00:51:26 (moans)
00:51:33 - My sadhana needs to...
00:51:37 It's paining like hell today.
00:51:41 Oh, Ma.
00:51:43 It's unbearable.
00:51:46 One day I'll die of this pain.
00:51:51 (speaks in foreign language)
00:51:53 - Where is my drink, bhai?
00:51:55 I kept it on table.
00:51:56 - I put it in the kitchen as it was almost empty.
00:51:59 - If you pick up anything in this house,
00:52:03 you better keep it back.
00:52:04 (upbeat music)
00:52:07 - I realized the home I had proudly declared mine
00:52:19 did not belong to me alone.
00:52:20 (singing in foreign language)
00:52:31 And that night, I kept waiting for him to return from work.
00:52:41 But he didn't turn up.
00:52:45 (sad music)
00:52:48 I don't know when I fell asleep.
00:52:55 (singing in foreign language)
00:53:05 (woman singing in foreign language)
00:53:09 - Mummy-ji?
00:53:16 Mummy-ji, he did not come back home last night.
00:53:20 - Don't worry, he'll come.
00:53:21 - But he did not tell me anything,
00:53:25 that he'll stay out overnight.
00:53:27 He did not even give me a call.
00:53:28 - Didn't I tell you he'll come when he wants to?
00:53:33 - Now leave me alone and let me finish my pooja.
00:53:37 (speaking in foreign language)
00:53:39 (woman singing in foreign language)
00:53:43 I kept waiting for him the whole day, but he didn't come.
00:53:56 - Is it hunger strike today?
00:54:01 Where is my breakfast, bhai?
00:54:03 (sad music)
00:54:05 - Oh, pho!
00:54:10 Why haven't you made the breakfast?
00:54:13 - I'll just make it.
00:54:15 I wasn't feeling well.
00:54:17 - Don't you know?
00:54:18 Your daddy takes his breakfast immediately after his bath.
00:54:21 He gets furious if it's late.
00:54:23 - I'll remember that in future.
00:54:26 (speaking in foreign language)
00:54:27 (sad music)
00:54:30 - On the next night too, he did not turn up.
00:54:46 I could not sleep for a moment.
00:54:49 I was so worried.
00:54:51 I spent the whole night waiting for him,
00:54:55 for his phone call.
00:54:58 But, but nothing happened.
00:55:01 (singing in foreign language)
00:55:06 (crying)
00:55:25 (singing in foreign language)
00:55:29 - My God, this girl gets up so late.
00:55:47 If we only have to do everything, why has she come?
00:55:50 (speaking in foreign language)
00:55:52 (crying)
00:55:54 - Days passed by, but he did not turn up.
00:56:07 From dawn to dusk, I worked like a machine,
00:56:11 obeyed to whatever his parents ordered.
00:56:15 My wait seemed endless.
00:56:21 However, his parents did not seem to be worried
00:56:23 about his long absence.
00:56:25 I wondered.
00:56:28 There was certainly something wrong.
00:56:32 I smelled something fishy about the whole affair.
00:56:47 (singing in foreign language)
00:56:51 - Mummy-ji, has he gone out somewhere?
00:57:09 - Isn't that obvious from his absence?
00:57:12 He has gone to Vancouver.
00:57:15 - When will he be back?
00:57:17 - Now how do I know that?
00:57:19 Whenever he gets free from his work, he'll be back.
00:57:24 Do you think he'll sit tight to your pallu all the time?
00:57:30 Hmm?
00:57:32 And let me tell you one thing.
00:57:38 You are not supposed to ask these questions.
00:57:42 You are not supposed to ask these bloody questions
00:57:46 to your elders.
00:57:47 We know where our son is.
00:57:50 You go and do your job.
00:57:53 - I couldn't understand why as a wife,
00:57:57 I was not supposed to ask about my husband.
00:57:59 And why I was not told about his whereabouts.
00:58:03 Not even by the person who brought me here
00:58:07 all the way from India.
00:58:12 - He came here only to take care of his parents.
00:58:14 - I realized that my status in the house
00:58:19 was merely of a maid.
00:58:24 - Her mother doesn't seem to have taught her
00:58:29 any lessons in housekeeping.
00:58:31 As it is, they didn't have to pay a single penny in dowry.
00:58:34 Worthless and penniless people.
00:58:37 They have only added to their own status
00:58:40 by having their daughter married to an NRI boy.
00:58:43 But what about us?
00:58:44 Worthless girl.
00:58:46 - I was shocked to hear those words.
00:58:49 My parents were labeled worthless and penniless.
00:58:53 They had spent more than they could afford.
00:58:58 My in-laws looked so entirely different today.
00:59:03 Worthless and penniless.
00:59:07 Those words pierced me deep inside.
00:59:11 - Make chicken for lunch today.
00:59:14 We are resting in our room.
00:59:17 And yes, don't forget to water the plants.
00:59:24 - What is she looking at?
00:59:27 Idiot.
00:59:29 - I felt I didn't belong to this house.
00:59:37 It was not my dream home.
00:59:38 I was worthless and penniless.
00:59:42 What am I supposed to do in this rich family?
00:59:47 Nothing seemed to belong to me.
00:59:51 (soft music)
00:59:54 (singing in foreign language)
01:00:00 - That day I wrote down everything to my parents.
01:00:19 My parents' reply was contrary to what I expected.
01:00:22 They had written that these were my own people,
01:00:27 my family, and now I belonged to them.
01:00:31 I had to live with them whatever happens.
01:00:34 And what I read next was absolutely shocking.
01:00:38 They wished to see my brother settled in Canada
01:00:42 and that I should talk on this issue to my husband.
01:00:45 They expected me to initiate his immigration process.
01:00:49 I did not read further.
01:00:50 I knew what they meant.
01:00:53 My father had already spent his savings on my marriage.
01:00:58 The least they expected now
01:01:00 was that I should stay back and accept my fate.
01:01:03 After all, isn't that everything life
01:01:08 eventually depends upon?
01:01:14 (speaking in foreign language)
01:01:18 - We have reached Lakshman Jhula.
01:01:35 The mountains begin from here.
01:01:37 It's quite risky journey, so the gate is closed at night.
01:01:40 - Imagine, we spent the whole night talking.
01:01:43 Have you seen the Lakshman Jhula?
01:01:45 - No, actually I've only heard about these places.
01:01:48 I've never been here.
01:01:49 - Really?
01:01:50 Surprising.
01:01:52 I don't think any North Indian would say that.
01:01:54 Does that mean you have never seen Ganga?
01:01:58 - Let me shock you.
01:02:00 No.
01:02:01 - Would you like to see it now?
01:02:04 - Let's see your Ganga today.

01:04:22 - Oh, it's icy cool.
01:04:24 - It is coming from the snowy peaks of Himalayas.
01:04:30 It has to be cool.
01:04:31 - After a tiring journey, it's very soothing to be here.
01:04:36 - Ganga is great.
01:04:37 There is certainly something divine about it.
01:04:41 We store the water for years,
01:04:44 but it never gets contaminated.
01:04:47 - I know.
01:04:48 Isn't that strange?
01:04:50 - Yes, it is.
01:04:52 That is what is called Ganga.
01:04:54 Ganga is India.
01:04:58 One dip in the Ganga cleans not just the body,
01:05:02 but all the sins as well.
01:05:05 - I'm feeling different here.
01:05:08 - Yeah.
01:05:09 - There's something magnetic about it.
01:05:11 - Yes, that is what joins us.
01:05:17 Every Indian to the Ganga.
01:05:21 See, we are born somewhere,
01:05:26 spend our lives elsewhere,
01:05:29 but when it's over,
01:05:32 the remains come here to mingle into this holy water.
01:05:36 Every Indian is born with a part of Ganga in him,
01:05:44 which eventually brings him here.
01:05:49 This is an eternal relationship.
01:05:52 - Really.
01:05:55 It never occurred to me.
01:05:57 But today, the water of Ganga
01:06:01 is churning something out of me.
01:06:04 Each leaflet of my life falling apart.
01:06:08 It's choking and relieving at the same time.
01:06:13 - What happened next?
01:06:15 In Canada?
01:06:17 - Oh, in Canada.
01:06:19 Life had become stagnant.
01:06:31 I slogged the whole day,
01:06:35 did all the household chores,
01:06:37 and obeyed his parents' orders.
01:06:40 My identity was lost.
01:06:44 I hardly had any time for myself.
01:06:47 When I was not working,
01:06:49 I was waiting for him.
01:06:51 Then suddenly one day,
01:06:54 he stood there.
01:06:56 - Hi, how are you?
01:07:05 - How are you?
01:07:06 As long as he had not come,
01:07:18 I had words and questions jolting my head.
01:07:21 But now,
01:07:23 as he held me in his arms,
01:07:26 I was left with no words.
01:07:29 Somewhere, in the corner of my heart,
01:07:34 I felt relieved.

01:08:34 (phone ringing)
01:08:37 - Hello?
01:08:46 - Hello, who's daddy?
01:08:48 Daddy, please call papa.
01:08:50 - Who's calling?
01:08:52 - I'm Jimmy, call papa, please.
01:08:54 - Who do you want to talk to?
01:08:56 Your papa doesn't stay here?
01:08:58 - Oh, daddy, why are you--
01:09:00 - Daddy?
01:09:02 - Isn't this Dr. Ajay's residence?
01:09:04 - Where?
01:09:06 - Oh, sorry, then you're that new Indian maid.
01:09:08 Hello, please call papa.
01:09:10 Tell him mummy has done it again.
01:09:12 - Mummy?
01:09:14 Who are you?
01:09:16 - Why don't you call papa?
01:09:18 I'm Jimmy, Dr. Ajay's son, calling from Vancouver.
01:09:22 (dramatic music)
01:09:24 Hello? Hello?
01:09:26 Hello? Hello?
01:09:29 - Who's calling?
01:09:31 - It's your son.
01:09:32 - Who?
01:09:34 - Your son, Jimmy.
01:09:36 (dramatic music)
01:09:38 - Hello? Hello?
01:09:40 - Hello, papa?
01:09:42 - Jimmy, why did you call her?
01:09:44 Why didn't you call me on the mobile?
01:09:46 - Papa, I couldn't find the number.
01:09:48 Papa, mummy has slipped down the stairs.
01:09:50 She was drunk.
01:09:52 She has got a head injury.
01:09:54 - Oh my God, when did that happen?
01:09:56 - In the morning.
01:09:58 - Is she serious?
01:10:00 - Jimmy, please take care of my child.
01:10:01 I'm leaving immediately.
01:10:03 I shall be there soon.
01:10:05 You stay with mummy, okay?
01:10:07 Please.
01:10:09 (dramatic music)
01:10:11 - Don't.
01:10:13 You're already married?
01:10:15 You have a son too?
01:10:19 You're married, I'm a father?
01:10:21 Why did you marry me?
01:10:23 Why did you choose to be her?
01:10:25 You married me.
01:10:29 You brought me here.
01:10:30 Don't, don't touch me.
01:10:32 You liar, you cheat.
01:10:34 You cheat.
01:10:37 Get lost.
01:10:39 Don't touch me anymore.
01:10:41 You've cheated me.
01:10:43 You've cheated my daughter.
01:10:45 You've cheated everyone.
01:10:47 Now I know where you've been all these days.
01:10:51 I'll call the police.
01:10:53 (slapping)
01:10:57 (dramatic music)
01:10:58 (phone ringing)
01:11:00 - Shut up.
01:11:02 Don't act smart.
01:11:04 You have said enough.
01:11:06 Did I bring you forthfully?
01:11:08 Did I condemn you?
01:11:10 Your father gave your hand into mine.
01:11:12 Did you deserve all this luxury?
01:11:14 Has anyone in your family been a brat?
01:11:16 You bitch.
01:11:18 For that matters, climbs an aircraft?
01:11:22 What haven't I done?
01:11:24 What haven't I done?
01:11:26 What haven't I given you?
01:11:27 Expensive clothes, luxury?
01:11:29 Look, look at this house and the one you had there.
01:11:32 Could you dream all this?
01:11:34 Could you dream?
01:11:36 - Yes, yes you have given me everything.
01:11:38 And what have you got in return?
01:11:40 A key for your son?
01:11:42 A young maid for your old parents?
01:11:44 A great bargain indeed.
01:11:46 (slapping)
01:11:48 - What now, what now?
01:11:50 What could you get back there?
01:11:52 - I could have got anything, everything.
01:11:55 I'm a street like you.
01:11:56 Don't think I'll go along with all this.
01:11:59 I know my rights.
01:12:01 I'll complain to the police.
01:12:03 - What's that mean, why?
01:12:05 - That you've come to know everything?
01:12:07 - Don't worry, mom.
01:12:09 I will set her right.
01:12:11 This bitch is of no use now.
01:12:14 - You idiot, you.
01:12:16 You bastard, go out of my house.
01:12:18 - No, no, no.
01:12:20 - You son of a bitch, go.
01:12:22 - No, no.
01:12:24 - Go, you bastard.
01:12:25 - No, no.
01:12:27 - You bloody son of a bitch.
01:12:29 - No, no, no.
01:12:31 Go, go.
01:12:33 Go, go.
01:12:35 Go, go.
01:12:37 Go, go.
01:12:39 (slapping)
01:12:41 (groaning)
01:12:43 - Let me go.
01:12:45 Let me go.
01:12:47 (knocking)
01:12:49 (crying)
01:12:51 (knocking)
01:12:52 (crying)
01:12:55 (knocking)
01:12:56 (crying)
01:12:58 (crying)
01:13:00 (crying)
01:13:02 (crying)
01:13:04 (crying)
01:13:06 (crying)
01:13:08 (crying)
01:13:10 (crying)
01:13:12 (crying)
01:13:14 (crying)
01:13:16 (crying)
01:13:18 (crying)
01:13:20 (crying)
01:13:23 (crying)
01:13:24 (crying)
01:13:26 (crying)
01:13:28 (crying)
01:13:30 (crying)
01:13:32 (crying)
01:13:34 (crying)
01:13:36 - I had so many imaginary pictures of the girl in my mind.
01:13:39 Crying, begging for life.
01:13:42 I have never seen anybody being strangled.
01:13:45 But I've surely seen people who have survived murderous attacks on their lives.
01:13:51 And I thought, at this moment I am sitting beside a girl who survived an attempt on her life.
01:13:58 And what if, if she had not escaped?
01:14:02 If her husband had not slipped?
01:14:05 Her name would have appeared in the corner of one column report in the newspaper.
01:14:10 Maybe, I would not have read it at all.
01:14:15 But here, she was. Alive and sitting beside me.
01:14:21 (crying)
01:14:23 Then, what happened?
01:14:31 Then, my neighbours helped me call the police.
01:14:35 They were arrested before they could escape.
01:14:38 And I, I was sent to the Indian Embassy, back to India.
01:14:44 Then?
01:14:45 My home. Back to my parents' home.
01:14:49 Their dreams too were shattered.
01:14:52 Hey Ram, as you wish.
01:15:02 Oh God! What has happened?
01:15:06 I never imagined that such people would come out.
01:15:12 They used to talk so sweetly.
01:15:15 Everything happened in such a short time. We are still paying back the loans.
01:15:19 I thought you would make a way for me to go to Ganeda.
01:15:23 We have to get your other sister married.
01:15:27 But all the plans are cast. Shit!
01:15:31 Brother, please, please.
01:15:34 (thunder)
01:15:35 Don't worry, Didi. I am here to help you.
01:15:44 Papa, I will pay back the loans.
01:15:50 Don't worry, dear. There is nothing of the sort.
01:15:53 Everything will be fine.
01:15:55 Papa, I will get a job somewhere. Anywhere.
01:15:59 Please, please allow me to work.
01:16:02 Mama, Mama, please.
01:16:04 She is right.
01:16:06 What will she do at home?
01:16:08 She will work. That will be better.
01:16:11 And then, then started my another ordeal.
01:16:21 From one office to another.
01:16:24 One city to another.
01:16:26 I kept moving.
01:16:28 I kept moving.
01:16:29 I had seen the savage in him.
01:16:34 All he had to offer me was lust.
01:16:37 And here, as I went from one office to another,
01:16:40 I saw him in every man.
01:16:42 They all had the same to offer a woman.
01:16:44 As if a woman was a mere commodity.
01:16:47 I realized that in all these offices, men took the women for granted.
01:16:51 As if they belonged to them.
01:16:56 Every man in this world thinks that just being a man
01:16:59 gives him enough reason to rule over a woman.
01:17:02 As if, as if a woman is a mere commodity.
01:17:06 They all belong to men.
01:17:08 Meant to please them.
01:17:10 Entertain them.
01:17:12 Wherever I went, I saw two eyes piercing into my body.
01:17:18 I found them challenging.
01:17:21 Once I accepted the challenge,
01:17:24 I realized that a man is a man
01:17:26 until the woman doesn't conquer him.
01:17:29 The moment a woman offers herself to him,
01:17:31 he is worse than a greedy dog.
01:17:33 He may rise to conquer the world,
01:17:38 but only a woman can make him fall on her feet.
01:17:42 I hate these men.
01:17:44 The moment I threw my inhibitions,
01:17:48 I had every man dancing to my tunes.
01:17:53 I was told that when a woman behaves the way I do,
01:17:56 she is called a call girl.
01:17:58 I don't accept that.
01:18:00 I can rule over all these men.
01:18:04 Your parents know about it?
01:18:10 No. I never told them.
01:18:13 I am only trying to pay off their debts.
01:18:16 I wish Varysha could know
01:18:21 that there is a heel who has departed from her parents' home,
01:18:24 never to find a home for her own.
01:18:27 From Chandigarh to Canada,
01:18:29 to Faridabad,
01:18:31 to so many places,
01:18:33 and now to Devprayag.
01:18:36 Searching for a destination.
01:18:40 A corner on this world
01:18:43 to call her own.
01:18:45 Hey, Ganga's men!
01:18:48 The gate is open.
01:18:50 It's getting late. Let's move on.
01:18:52 Let's go.
01:19:05 Let's go.
01:19:06 (water flowing)
01:19:08 (horn blaring)
01:19:13 (speaking in foreign language)
01:19:25 (whistling)
01:19:31 (thunder rumbling)
01:19:33 (birds chirping)
01:19:54 Listen.
01:19:56 (birds chirping)
01:19:58 The person we are going to meet,
01:20:05 tell him that
01:20:07 that you are my cousin.
01:20:10 (chuckles)
01:20:14 (whistling)
01:20:18 (whistling)
01:20:22 (singing in foreign language)
01:20:24 (thunder rumbling)
01:20:32 Sir.
01:20:38 Yes?
01:20:40 Sir, I am Shravan Vasudev.
01:20:44 Hmm.
01:20:48 From Padi Garhwal?
01:20:50 Yes, sir.
01:20:51 Sir, Sharmaji...
01:20:54 Yes, yes.
01:20:58 Sir, she's my cousin.
01:21:04 Hmm.
01:21:06 I must tell you,
01:21:08 your sister is really gorgeous.
01:21:11 (thunder rumbling)
01:21:13 No, sir. She's my cousin.
01:21:19 Hmm.
01:21:20 It's one and the same thing.
01:21:22 A cousin is no less than a sister.
01:21:27 Baby, come here.
01:21:29 Come here. Sit here.
01:21:31 Sit here.
01:21:32 You may go now.
01:21:37 See you tomorrow.
01:21:40 (thunder rumbling)
01:21:43 No.
01:21:47 No.
01:21:48 You will not go.
01:21:50 I won't allow you.
01:21:52 Why?
01:21:54 What do you mean?
01:21:56 No.
01:21:58 She will not.
01:22:00 She's my sister.
01:22:02 But you said she's your cousin.
01:22:06 No.
01:22:08 She's my sister.
01:22:10 You don't need your job.
01:22:12 Hmm.
01:22:15 (thunder rumbling)
01:22:16 (thunder rumbling)
01:22:18 No. No, I'm not your sister.
01:22:21 No.
01:22:24 Brothers do not behave like this.
01:22:26 They don't offer their sister to their boss.
01:22:28 Okay, okay. You go to hell.
01:22:30 But you're not going to him. That's all.
01:22:32 Idiot.
01:22:35 Do whatever you can to hell with your job.
01:22:38 I don't care.
01:22:39 You bloody fool.
01:22:40 I'll get you fired.
01:22:42 (grunts)
01:22:44 (dramatic music)
01:22:45 You come with me.
01:22:48 Come, come.
01:22:49 (dramatic music)
01:22:51 (thunder rumbling)
01:22:53 (dramatic music)
01:22:55 (thunder rumbling)
01:22:57 (dramatic music)
01:22:59 (thunder rumbling)
01:23:01 (dramatic music)
01:23:03 (thunder rumbling)
01:23:05 (dramatic music)
01:23:07 (thunder rumbling)
01:23:09 (dramatic music)
01:23:11 (thunder rumbling)
01:23:13 (dramatic music)
01:23:14 (thunder rumbling)
01:23:16 (dramatic music)
01:23:18 (thunder rumbling)
01:23:20 (dramatic music)
01:23:22 (thunder rumbling)
01:23:24 (dramatic music)
01:23:26 Sorry.
01:23:28 That's okay.
01:23:30 I'm sorry too.
01:23:32 Now?
01:23:35 I'll go back home.
01:23:38 (thunder rumbling)
01:23:40 (sighs)
01:23:42 (water gurgling)
01:23:43 Which one of these is Ganga?
01:23:53 Both.
01:23:55 Both?
01:23:57 This one is Bhagirathi.
01:24:00 And the right one is Alaknanda.
01:24:03 They both meet here to be named as Ganga.
01:24:06 Can you see the difference of colors?
01:24:10 Yes. One is a bit greenish.
01:24:12 The other is white.
01:24:14 Yeah. Once they unite, you can hardly make out a difference.
01:24:18 (bus horn honking)
01:24:21 Your bus is coming.
01:24:24 (sad music)
01:24:26 (sighs)
01:24:29 This is my card.
01:24:32 In case you need it.
01:24:34 No.
01:24:36 We are not going to meet again.
01:24:39 (sighs)
01:24:40 May I know your name?
01:24:44 Ganga.
01:24:48 (thunder rumbling)
01:24:50 (thunder rumbling)
01:24:52 (thunder rumbling)
01:24:54 (bell ringing)
01:24:56 (chanting)
01:24:58 (bell ringing)
01:25:00 (chanting)
01:25:02 (bell ringing)
01:25:04 (chanting)
01:25:06 (chanting)
01:25:08 (thunder rumbling)
01:25:09 (chanting)
01:25:11 (chanting)
01:25:13 (chanting)
01:25:15 (sighs)
01:25:17 Keep it for yourself.
01:25:19 You might need it.
01:25:21 No.
01:25:23 Ganga is cleansed.
01:25:25 It will never get polluted again.
01:25:28 (thunder rumbling)
01:25:30 (bus horn honking)
01:25:32 (bus horn honking)
01:25:34 (bus horn honking)
01:25:37 (bus horn honking)
01:25:38 (bus horn honking)
01:25:40 (bus horn honking)
01:25:42 (sighs)
01:25:44 Ganga?
01:25:46 Yes, Ganga.
01:25:48 From today.
01:25:50 From Devprayag.
01:25:52 Because of you.
01:25:55 (water bubbling)
01:25:57 Goodbye.
01:26:03 (water bubbling)
01:26:06 (water bubbling)
01:26:07 (water splashing)
01:26:16 (water splashing)
01:26:18 (water splashing)
01:26:20 (water bubbling)
01:26:22 All sins get washed away in Ganga.
01:26:34 Maybe...
01:26:35 mine too.
01:26:37 (water bubbling)
01:26:39 God knows what happened to her.
01:27:03 Did she go back to her parents?
01:27:05 Did she get a home for herself?
01:27:08 Oh, Lord.
01:27:11 Please help her.
01:27:13 Take care of her.
01:27:15 But...
01:27:18 But why am I thinking of her?
01:27:20 How are we related?
01:27:22 She rejected all relations with me.
01:27:30 (woman singing)
01:27:31 Oh, this is my relationship with her.
01:27:45 Like these ants.
01:27:48 They meet,
01:27:50 share a moment,
01:27:52 confess something,
01:27:54 then go their way.
01:27:56 Just like...
01:27:59 feed it.
01:28:00 This turmeric,
01:28:09 it's like
01:28:11 putting a no entry board.
01:28:13 It will stop these ants from
01:28:16 getting back to their hole.
01:28:18 Poor things.
01:28:21 After a tiresome journey,
01:28:24 how do they know what is in store for them?
01:28:28 No.
01:28:29 No.
01:28:31 Don't stop them at the threshold.
01:28:33 And force them to retreat.
01:28:35 Or...
01:28:38 they may get lost on their way.
01:28:57 I...
01:28:58 wiped off the turmeric.
01:29:00 And let those ants go back to their homes.
01:29:05 But for her,
01:29:08 I don't know what happened next.
01:29:11 We just met like those ants,
01:29:15 confessed,
01:29:18 and parted.
01:29:20 Not to meet again.
01:29:25 Is this all my book about?
01:29:27 Look around and you will find people like me,
01:29:32 who might go to any extent to get a favor,
01:29:35 but may
01:29:38 or may not meet a Ganga
01:29:40 to wash off their sins.
01:29:43 Sorry Priya.
01:29:47 I did that too.
01:29:48 But not again.
01:29:50 Never.
01:29:53 Who knows like her,
01:30:02 some other ant too might lost in this world.
01:30:06 And
01:30:08 I don't know
01:30:10 what will happen to me.
01:30:12 I don't know
01:30:15 who might lost in this world.
01:30:17 In search of her home.
01:30:19 Her own home.
01:30:21 But if she too finds a yellow line on the threshold,
01:30:28 will she have to go
01:30:31 all the way to Devpriyaag?
01:30:34 [flute]
01:30:36 [flute]
01:30:39 [flute]
01:30:41 [flute]
01:30:44 [flute]
01:30:47 [flute]
01:30:50 [flute]
01:30:53 [flute]
01:30:56 [flute]
01:30:59 [flute]
01:31:02 [flute]
