00:00After the discovery of a loan from China, a fund for the train line that will be built in Mindanao,

00:08the Department of Transportation is now studying the overhaul of the project.

00:13According to Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, the first plan is to use diesel-powered trains.

00:19And now, the plan is to make the new system modern and eco-friendly.

00:25It is expected that this study will be completed by the current administration.

00:30The DOTR is coordinating with the Department of Finance for the procurement of funds for this.

00:36In February, the DOTR announced the start of pre-construction activities for the project.

00:42This includes land acquisition in areas where the project will pass

00:47and possible locations of resettlement for affected residents.

00:52The agency is now working with other countries and international financial institutions

00:57to obtain official development assistance to fund the project.
