Pakistan has fallen short of its GDP growth target for the fiscal year 2023-24, achieving only 2.38 percent growth against the projected 3.5 percent, the government acknowledged on Tuesday.
The Economic Review of Pakistan 2023-24, a pre-budget report outlining the country's major economic achievements during the fiscal year, was unveiled by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb at a press conference.
"The actual GDP growth reached 2.38 percent in FY 2024," stated the report, attributing the turnaround from negative growth in FY 2023 to positive growth in FY 2024 to prudent policy management and gradual economic recovery.
