00:00Hey, pal.
00:01Hi, pal.
00:02What's up, Pam?
00:03What's up, Jonas?
00:04I love you already.
00:05Yeah.
00:06Now, Jonas, we love your music.
00:07You're on tour.
00:08You actually started with Montreal April 27th.
00:09Yeah.
00:10Now, you're going all around Quebec.
00:11Tell us, why do you love touring?
00:12When it's in your DNA and you come home and you live out of one suitcase and the next
00:13suitcase is full of people, it's like, oh, I'm going to live here.
00:14I'm going to live here.
00:15I'm going to live here.
00:16I'm going to live here.
00:17I'm going to live here.
00:18I'm going to live here.
00:19I'm going to live here.
00:20I'm going to live here.
00:21I'm going to live here.
00:22I'm going to live here.
00:24I mean, if you've been in a group or a band or anything like that, your friends and your
00:47You've been in a group or a band or anything like that, they're your friends and your family
00:52and your bros and nobody really understands it quite like that, but there's a beautiful
00:57dichotomy now that I'm a dad of three that I also can't wait to come home.
01:04So the good part about this most recent tour this summer is that a lot of the dates like
01:10you said are close to Quebec or within Quebec, so family's coming a lot.
01:14Maybe a little roulotte, you know, some camping entre-temps, but yeah, and really looking
01:20forward to putting out the new album, the Jonas and the Jaguar Moon Project coming out
01:25in September, October.
01:28So yeah, this tour is great, but it's hard not to look at what's coming up next.
01:35There's always something, there's always something, but now you spoke about your family, your
01:38three kids.
01:39How have they inspired you?
01:41They're incredibly inspiring and incredibly tiring.
01:45That's normal.
01:46I think my parents would say the same thing.
01:48My voice is a little tired right now, and it's not from singing.
01:52It's from like, stop, come here, no, don't do, you know, it's a lot of like, come on!
01:59And then also, just the best hugs, right?
02:04There's no hug like a baby's hug, so they hug good too.
02:08You gotta keep them chunky so that the hugs are chunky.
02:11There we go.
02:12That's the trick.
02:13So now I-
02:14Chubby hunks.
02:15Chubby hugs.
02:16Chubby hugs.
02:17Chubby jokes?
02:18Chubby jokes?
02:19Anyway, you know what I mean.
02:20A new song.
02:21We just made music right there.
02:22That's it.
02:23So now-
02:24That's the creative process.
02:25Exactly.
02:26That's how it all began, okay?
02:27So it's on the new album in September.
02:28So now you're from Montreal.
02:29You went to John Rene High School.
02:30How do you know so much about me?
02:31Oh, I adore you.
02:32Come on, I adore you.
02:33Oh, that's so sweet.
02:34How doesn't someone know about you about this, you know?
02:36So now you went to John Rene High School.
02:38How has this city, how has Montreal, you know, just inspired your music?
02:43It has shaped who I am.
02:45I think there's a real beauty in the simplicity of Montreal, in the challenges of Montreal,
02:57in the friction that comes with politically, linguistically, being an Anglo-bilingual person.
03:05I appreciate all of those things and everybody has seen me and known me as a city boy for
03:13so long.
03:14We just moved up to the country burbs and I think often about the city and about the
03:20Jacques Cartier Bridge and about just the beauty of our simplicity as people and how
03:25accueillant and, you know, chaleureux we are.
03:30Exactly.
03:31Yeah.
03:32So this is a great time of the year too when the Grand Prix comes in and the tourism is
03:36high and we get to shine.
03:38We get to shine.
03:39Yes.
03:40You know what?
03:41You spoke about those hugs.
03:42Can I have a hug?
03:43Yeah, absolutely.
03:44You can have a hug.
03:45Oh, cheers.
03:46Thank you, Jonas.
03:47Thank you so much.
03:48Thank you.
03:49Thank you, guys.
03:50Thanks, Montreal.
03:51Thank you.
03:52Wow.
