Tesla announced it will likely increase the prices of its Model 3 electric car in Europe from July 1st due to higher import duties imposed by the EU on EVs made in China. An EU investigation into subsidies for China's electric vehicles resulted in higher tariffs, which will be imposed on July 4th. Tesla's Gigafactory in Shanghai exports many of the cars it produces overseas. The EU has not yet announced the tariff Tesla will have to pay on Model 3s imported from China to Europe. Tesla may receive an "individually calculated duty rate."
