The Garden Warbler is a small songbird that spends its summers in Europe and winters in Africa. It's a plain olive-brown bird with no striking markings, making it tricky to spot amongst the foliage. These warblers prefer dense undergrowth in woodlands, parks, and gardens, where they nest low in bushes or brambles. Their beautiful, rich song is often the best way to locate them. While not rare, Garden Warblers are quite secretive birds that can be challenging to observe. They feed on insects and berries, sometimes visiting bird tables and feeders. After breeding, they undertake an incredible migration, flying thousands of miles to their wintering grounds in West Africa.
